Chris Pratt Almost Turned Down Star-Lord Role Because of G.I. Joe

After seeing Chris Pratt as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s hard to imagine anyone else in the role. He was perfect, but he almost didn’t take the role! He actually passed on the role when it was first pitched to him because of a bad audition he had for G.I. Joe years ago. He talked about all this in a recent interview with Esquire saying:

“When Guardians of the Galaxy was pitched to me, I said, ‘I don’t think so.’ I just didn’t picture myself getting the role. I didn’t want to go and embarrass myself like I did when I auditioned for G.I. Joe a couple of years previously. I went in there, and halfway through I saw the director’s eyes just glaze over. It made sense — I was a little heavy and out of shape. I was not gonna play someone from G.I. Joe. I did not look like a G.I. Joe action figure come to life.”

I’ll just say that I think he’s better off having never got that G.I. Joe role. Director James Gunn saw the potential in Pratt though and cast him, and he ended up getting in shape and looking great. This is what he had to say about being in shape:

“I can do 40-inch box jumps now. Action-hero physical stuff. Jumping that high feels really good. You see a giant hillside, and you think, I wanna get up that. You see a building, you think, I could climb that. When you get in shape, the world around you becomes things you wanna jump on and climb up.”

I’m glad that he got past the failed G.I. Joe audition and took the Guardians role. It was one of the best decisions he could have made, and he was awesome in the role!

Samuel L. Jackson to Star in THE BLACK PHANTOM

https://i2.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53e3ab19e4b08bd3408a42c6/1407429411755/136078-the-avengers1.jpeg?w=584

Samuel L. Jackson is in talks with Screen Gems to star in an action comedy called The Black Phantom. Jackson will replace Jamie Foxx, who had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.

The movie is being directed by Tim Story and it will also star Kevin Hart. The movie is described as “an outrageously inappropriate comedy where no topic is off limits in an odd partnership formed between a clever double-crossed mob hitman (Hart) and the notorious hit man The Black Phantom, who has been hired to kill him.”

I’m really curious to see how inappropriate this movie goes, but it seems like Jackson will be a perfect fit for it.

GALAXY QUEST Sequel Wanted by Everyone Involved

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53e4db08e4b0ec6443b2012d/1407507210357/galaxy-quest-sequel-wanted-by-everyone-involved?format=500w

Director Dean Parisot‘s 1999 sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest was a hell of a film. I love that movie, and over the years we’ve heard some talk of a sequel but nothing has ever materialized from that talk. The talking continues, but it’s from all of the main players involved, and they all want to see a sequel happen.

MTV recently did an oral history of the film, and several members of the cast and crew came in to talk about the film. Those people included Tim Allen, Sigourney Allen, Sam Rockwell, Justin Long, director Dean Parisot, producer Mark Johnson, and writer Robert Gordon.

You’ve got to remember that this movie was ahead of its time, and it was made in an era where geek culture wasn’t as popular as it is now. At that time San Diego Comic-Con wasn’t the huge popular convention that it is now. I think a sequel would do extremely now, and I would love it if it happened. Here’s what everyone had to say about it:

Tim Allen: There’s a sequel somewhere. It’s written, but I haven’t really gotten a straight answer about it, but Hollywood is a very peculiar place. It is none of my business.

Writer Robert Gordon: On the record, I definitely have ideas for a sequel. Off the record, OK, turn your recorder off.

Justin Long: So many people ask me about a sequel.

Producer Mark Johnson: If we announced a sequel or a TV show, there’d be genuine excitement, not “It’s too late.” We’ve tried. I’d do it, Dean would do it. But we need Bob. It’s a Bob Gordon joint, but Bob is a very specific guy.

Sam Rockwell: F–k yeah, a sequel would be amazing. If it was a respectful script to “Galaxy Quest.”

Sigourney Weaver: Tell Bob, tell Dean, we are all ready for a sequel. I still have my costume!

Allen: How’s this for a sequel: it’s 15 years later. The Thermians come back, but they haven’t aged. Maybe they don’t have warp anymore so it took 15 years. They have to search for a new homeland. Sarris [the main villain] is gone but his family never forgets and you take it from there. . .

this was a great movie!  I would  look to see another one?  are  you ready for  another galaxy quest?

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Sequel Going Into Development

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53e7b21ce4b0638731ee83d5/1407693344225/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-sequel-going-into-development?format=500w

It’s no surprise to hear that Paramount Pictures is moving forward with a sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Like I’ve been saying, it doesn’t matter how bad the movie was, it still made a shit-ton of money, so of course the studio is going to cash in. The studio announced that Michael Bay will be back to produce the movie, and they set a release date for June 3rd, 2016.

Screenwriters Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec (Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol) will return to write the sequel. I liked their script for Mission: Impossible IV, but unfortunately, their script for Ninja Turtles was terrible. There’s no word on whether Jonathan Liebsman will come back to direct the sequel or not, but it doesn’t matter who directs it, I’m sure it will be just as bad as the first one.

Adam Goodman, President of Paramount’s Film Group, said in a statement,

“Launching a new take on the Turtles into the feature film world was a daunting task because as fans of them ourselves, we felt a great responsibility to ensure audiences were going to experience everything they loved about the Turtles, while also getting to see them brought to life in a way they had never been seen before. The result exceeded our high expectations and the response to the film is beyond great, making it all the more fun to get started on the continuation of their story.”

whats your thoughts of a  sequel?

‘Star Wars’ Expansion Coming To Disney Theme Parks

STAR WARS DISNEYStar Wars” fans have more than just a new movie to look forward to next year. Disney says it will announce major plans for more “Star Wars” in the company’s theme parks.

Disney CEO Bob Iger said during an earnings call on Tuesday that the company is “developing designs for a far greater ‘Star Wars’ presence in the parks,” according to multiple reports.

“When we grow ‘Star Wars” presence, which we will do significantly, you will see better bets being made that will pay off for us than were made in the past,” Iger said, according to Variety.

Details of the expansion will not be revealed until next year.

Jay Rasulo, Disney’s finance chief and senior executive vice president, said attractions based on major franchises draw guests.

“They pull people from, ‘Gee, I’m gonna go someday’ to ‘I’m gonna go this year,'” Rasulo said, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“Star Wars” already has a significant presence in Disney parks around the world. The “Star Tours” simulator ride is in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, Disneyland in California, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. The Florida and California parks also have an interactive show called “Jedi Training Academy.”

In addition, Disney’s Hollywood Studios plays host to “Star Wars Weekends,” an annual event featuring shows, parades and a massive store called “Darth’s Mall.”

Rumors of a major “Star Wars” expansion or even the creation of a “Star Wars Land” in one or more Disney parks have been a mainstay of the fan community for years, intensifying in 2012 when the company acquired Lucasfilm and announced new movies in the franchise.

Last year, Disney teased a “Star Wars” presence in its parks at the company’s D23 expo with crates marked “Orange Harvest” and partially visible blueprints.

In other “Star Wars” news, Iger said Tuesday that “Episode VII” is on schedule for release on Dec. 18, 2015, but didn’t discuss the injury to Harrison Ford that reportedly delayed filming.

“The footage we’ve seen so far is spectacular and certainly worthy of the fan frenzy and excitement this movie is generating around the world,” Iger said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Moves to March 2016

Ben Affleck Bat Man SupermanThe superhero hybrid, starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, was supposed to challenge “Captain America 3? during the first weekend of May, but will instead spring forward to avoid a blockbuster confrontation.

The earlier months of March and April have proven fertile ground for Hollywood tentpoles in recent years.  “The Hunger Games” and “Captain America: Winter Soldier” both opened to stellar results in March, as did several Zack Snyder-helmed films like “300,” another WB release.

Co-starring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, “Batman v. Superman” has been filming in Detroit for the past two months.

Warner Bros. also announced the release dates for nine untitled DC films on Wednesday. The studio is hoping its Justice League universe, which includes superheroes the Flash and Green Lantern, can match Marvel’s hit franchise “The Avengers” at the box office.

I knew this was going to happen but hwy march and not mid summer?  donest make much sense  but what do you think of this change?

Terminator title changed again, Arnold Reveals New Title

https://i2.wp.com/photos-g.ak.instagram.com/hphotos-ak-xfp1/891447_553287501443046_759075904_n.jpg?w=584Paramount handed over the honor of revealing the official title (and, in this case, spelling) for the Terminator franchise reboot to Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The star took to Instagram today for a shadowy shot of himself sitting in a set chair – the name of the film shown on the back.

TERMINATOR: GENISYS

Yes, Skynet is not only ready to roll over humanity and crush us into extinction, it’s out to change our basic syntax. Genesis is now spelled Genisys. “Terminator” is still spelled the same though. No “Tyrmen8r” or anything like that.

Arnold’s message also debuted the film’s own Instagram account over at @TerminatorGenisys.

Terminator: Genisys, directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World, Game of Thrones), stars Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), Jai Courtney (A Good Day to Die Hard), Byung-hun Lee (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man), Sandrine Holt (House of Cards) and Dayao Okeniyi (The Hunger Games).

Daredevil Set Photos Show First Look At Charlie Cox As Matt Murdock

https://i0.wp.com/cdn.wegotthiscovered.com/wp-content/uploads/matt-murdock-whoops.png?w=584

Marvel Studios left their hordes of fans a bit disappointed after their Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con last weekend, not only because they didn’t talk about any upcoming Phase Three projects beyond Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but because they also didn’t turn any of the spotlight toward their upcoming Daredevil series on Netflix.

They did announce that the show will hit the streaming service in May 2015, but beyond that we got no plot details or images from the highly anticipated series. It is, however, currently filming in Brooklyn under the codename “Bluff,” giving impatient fans the opportunity to take matters into their own hands and snap a few photos from the set.

We unfortunately don’t have any shots of The Man Without Fear in costume (my guess is Marvel will release an official image before they risk that particular detail from leaking), but we do have a good glimpse of his alter-ego, Matt Murdock.

Some new pictures have surfaced (courtesy of Just Jared) showing Boardwalk Empire and Stardust alum Charlie Cox as the young, blind lawyer. Admittedly it’s not much to look at, but as a big Daredevil fan it’s exciting to see tangible evidence that this show is even happening.

Check out the images below, and stay tuned to We Got This Covered for any more pictures and info that find their way online.https://i1.wp.com/cdn.wegotthiscovered.com/wp-content/uploads/BuPSw8MCcAAeOGF.jpg?resize=584%2C579
