ARROW Spoilers Reveal Where The Second Half Of The Season Will Take Us

1503372_10152125919959153_1757730655_nTV Guide managed to grab a scoop on where Arrow  will pick up on its return next Wednesday, and I’m excited to say the least. You don’t want to read any further if you want to go in blindly, but I will say this spoiler doesn’t really do more than set the stage.

It appears as though Felicity will be leaving Starling City to go aid Barry after his “accident”, which comes at a terrible time for Oliver as there are now multiple villains to be worried about. Hopefully this means Felicity will be jumping back and forth between the series and being the bridge between the two shows when Flash gets going. I’m not one for the whole Oliver and Felicity romance and would much rather see her go on full time with Flash…but I can see how and why that would never happen. Next Wednesday we’ll see it all go down, and hopefully more of Slade in the current timeline!

More Rumors that Bryan Cranston Will Play Lex Luthor

more-rumors-that-bryan-cranston-will-play-lex-luthor.jpg

We’ve heard a lot of rumors about the possibility of Bryan Cranston taking on the role of Lex Luthor. Those rumors started very early on after the Batman Vs. Superman movie was announced. Even though Cranston has denied those rumors in the past, it’s obviously still alive and well. In a recent video podcast for Amasian News, they claim that they’ve 100% confirmed that Cranston will play the villain. Of course they can’t reveal their sources, but they seem pretty confident. They also claim that Ben Affleck will sport an Alex Ross inspired Batman costume in the film. Which is cool, but also goes against stuff we’ve previously heard. Kevin Smith also went crazy over the suit design that he saw, and I don’t think he would have said the things he said over an Alex Ross inspired design.

Keep in mind that these sources are untested, we have no idea how legit they are so treat this news as a big fat rumor. It would be incredible if Cranston played Lex in the sequel! It’s would perfect casting! It will be interesting to see what the official casting news will be. In the meantime, this is what the Internet is giving us.

Bryan Singer Discusses X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

bryan-singer-discusses-x-men-apocalypse.jpg

It’s incredibly exciting to see the X-Men franchise blowing up again! X-Men: Days of Future Past looks incredible, and the recently announced X-Men: Apocalypse sounds intriguing. We still know very little about what the new movie will entail, but in a recent interview with EW, director Bryan Singer talks about it, and reveals that he’s not yet signed on to direct it.

“I’m co-writing the story and I’m producing it. I’m negotiating to direct. We’re in the process. We’re trying to figure it out, schedules. My desire would be to direct it.”

I’m pretty confident that he and the studio will strike a deal. If he wants to direct it, then he’ll end up directing it. When asked if he will tease Apocalypse in X-Men: Days of Future Past, he said,

“I’m still deciding that. Something that happens in this movie causes what’s going to happen in that movie.”

Well… if that’s the case, I’m pretty sure that there’s got to be some kind of tease. Singer goes on to point out some of the themes that will be a part of Apocalypse, saying,

“It will also address historical mutant-cy, meaning the deep past, mutant origins and things like that. It’s something that’s always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers.”

Apocalypse will be released in theaters in 2016, and I can’t help but think it’s going to be epic. The future of this franchise seems like it’s going to be gloriously awesome!

BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Script Is Finished and Amy Adams Has Read It

batman-vs-superman-script-is-finished-and-amy-adams-has-read-it.jpg

Amy Adams appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live recently to talk about her new film Her, which is currently out in theaters. Of course the conversation moved to the movie everyone is interested in hearing about… Zack Snyder‘s Batman Vs. Superman.

Adams will reprise her role as Lois Lane in the film, but she doesn’t offer up any information on the story. However she does reveal that the script has been completed and that she’s read it. Argo writer Chris Terrio was recently brought in to touch it up, and I guess he’s finished because production is set to start “very soon.”

I’m looking forward to seeing what characters will officially be in the movie and who will be playing them. This movie has the potential to be epic. I hope Snyder can effectively pull it off!

Kevin Feige on Ultron in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

kevin-feige-on-ultron-in-avengers-age-of-ultron.jpg

In a recent interview with SFX Magazine, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige discussed Joss Whedon‘s Avengers: Age of Ultron. In the interview he talks about why they chose Ultron, what they were looking for in a sequel, and the natural introductions of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

When asked why Ultron was chosen as the main villain in the sequel he replied,

“Joss Whedon had a great idea for the character and how to use him to unify the Avengers again and acquire their services once more. He was a favorite. Joss and I were on the production of the first Avengers movie and we started having conversations about Ultron, and how he could come about and how we could adapt his origin to the continuity of the cinematic universe. It literally was just little discussions between takes but thankfully Joss files all that kind of stuff away in his brain. Then when the time arrived, he started outing it, so he went back to that and built a very good story.”

He was then asked if the movie will have anything in common with comic book series of the same name. Basically, they just wanted the subtitle. He explains,

“We didn’t want to merely have a ‘2’ after Avengers so we wanted to give it a subtitle. We have various things that we were looking at and Age of Ultron – which just happened to be a the name of a comic book series as well – was our favorite.”

Feige also talks about casting James Spader saying,

“I first met James Spader two or three years ago. I thought it would be great to have him in our universe and we finally found the right role with Joss’s version of Ultron.”

Finally he is asked about Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, and if he thinks there are going to be too many protagonists in the movie. This was his reply,

“It’s always a balance with any movie, not to overwhelm it with too many story elements. Certainly when it comes to comic book movies, you can fall into the trap of having too many villains and in the case of team-based movies, having too many heroes. But what Joss has in mind to bring those characters into the story happens in a very natural fashion over the course of the story. It’s also the tradition of the Avengers to switch up the roster every now and again and to have new characters coming in. It’s just part of the fun, but we wouldn’t have included them if it had just been a case of ‘Oh, we want two new figures, two new costumes.’ It very much flows with the story that Joss is creating.”

The movie is set to be released on May 1st, 2015, and I have no doubt that it’s going to be another epically badass Marvel adventure!

ALIEN: ISOLATION Game Centers on Ripley’s Daughter – Inside Look

Over on Kotaku, they have put up a video of the upcoming game Alien: Isolation. The game is centers on Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley from the movie franchise. Amanda is trapped on a space station and is looking for a way out. Oh yeah, she is being stalked by what has been described as the biggest alien of all.

As you will see in the video below, this is nothing like other Alien games. Others were pure shooters where you have to kill as many enemies as you can. This one is all about stealth and instinct. Instead of killing thousands of aliens, you have to get away from just one, one that is set on killing you. No game is the same because the alien AI reacts to the choices you make in the game. It looks scary as hell. I will definitely be playing this ASAP!

Looks like it can be an exciting part of the  alien on going  gaming process. time will tell.

Watch the video below and enjoy.

Details on the New NINJA TURTLES Character Designs

Up until this point, all we’ve seen from the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film is a bunch of set photos of the actors in motion capture suits. Thanks to Idle Hands we have some new details on the character designs for these totally radical characters! The description comes from a source who happened to see the new action figures for the film. These days it seems most of the movie themed action figures are close to the same designs that we see in the movie, they might not be exactly the same though. I think fans will be happy with the descriptions.

Here are the detail points for the Ninja Turtles:

  • Each turtle has the weapons they should have. (YAY!) 2 swords for Leo, a staff for Don, 2 sais for Raph, a pair of nunchucks and a three sectioned staff for Mikey.
  • Each turtle looks LIKE A TURTLE and not alien…at all. (BIGGER YAY!) In fact the designs are quite traditional and unremarkable, and feature far less texture than the 80’s movie turtles. Eyes are fairly normal and not cartoonishly large. No beak along the nose area like some speculated. Three fingers and two toes.
  • The sort of hunched over posture present in the actors in those leaked set pictures is present here.
  • Amazingly, each character appeared to have a different physique with some (like Raphael and Leonardo) having super heroey muscle tone (though Raph appears more pumped up than Leo) and Donatello appearing slimmer..leaner. Michelangelo could possibly be slightly shorter than the rest.
  • Each turtle’s mask matches the color from the cartoons.
  • Styles of dress are different as well with Leonardo in a sort of pseudo samurai gear get up including shoulder armor, some leg bits, arm bracer and foot wear up to the calf with bindings showing. He might have some armor (non metal) along his chest as well. Donatello’s gear is a mix of techy, modern and a dash of samurai with more normal footwear (for a 2 toed giant turtle), some gadget on his head and gadgetry coming off of his shell. The ends of his mask are far longer than the rest, draping down to his waist. Raphael has adopted an urban warrior look with white, bandage-like wrappings on his feet, right leg, and right arm. He wears this very conan-esque loin cloth..thing..with leather straps draping down as if he were more suited for gladiatorial battle. Michelangelo’s outfit seems the simplest with a hoodie wrapped around his waist, pants and sneakers with the toes cut out, wrappings on his hands and forearms, a necklace (could be puka shell beads?) and his mask ends drape down to his chest. He looks frighteningly ready to spit out some modern catch phrases.

Details for Master Splinter:

  • Again, a very traditional design.
  • Hair pulled up in a samurai..nub? Fu Manchu facial hair going on.
  • His eyes seemed a little odd but I couldn’t make out what was going on there.
  • Slightly tattered samurai outfit with a blue upper half with gold accents, tan lower belted robes and blocky sandals.
  • Comes with a samurai sword.

Details for The Shredder:

  • This guy looks like he owns stock in the Ronco knife company! Pointy edges coming off of absolutely anything. He’ll be the stuff of ridicule for some time. Very overcomplicated outfit.
  • Helmet is pseudo-traditional, adopting elements of the classic look (mostly the shape and key elements) with the top coming down over the eyes to the nose. Mouth area is recessed.
  • Describing the rest of this armor is a nightmare. Suffice to say, even though he’s covered head to toe in metal armor or blades, his arms are still mostly bare. It’s a bit comical. He’s got the shoulder pieces with the blades coming off them, the shin armor with the blades coming off them, black armor areas to offset the steel parts and a cape that looks metal with blades coming down the side. I’d expect we’ll see him whip that around in battle.
  • His only weapons (beyond his whole body) seem to be the bladey thingies coming off his forearm armor. The one on his right arm seems incredibly complicated..maybe a spinning blade?

Details for Footsoldiers:

  • No surprises here at all..just as drab as the goons in masks we saw on set.
  • The figure designs are a bit more colorful with a brownish scarf, blue vest, black arms, tan pants, grey knee pads and black boots. They also seem to have made the mask more of a grey than the copper look we saw on set.
  • The changes in colors and such lead me to wonder if they did that for the toy line just to bring something out for kids beyond a boring black outfit or has there been changes to the Foot Soldier’s look? Our bet is the former. Makes little sense to put out figures that don’t match the movie look, though….but it’s not like it hasn’t happened before.
  • Figure comes with a small hand gun, a larger rifle and a knife. You may be able to strap the smaller gun to his leg in a holster sculpted on.

The Jonathan Liebesman-directed film comes out later this year, and I imagine we’ll get our first official look at these characters soon. The movie stars Megan Fox in the role of April O’Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter, and William Fichtner as Shredder.

The movie hits theaters on August 8th, 2014.

Boba Fett Movie Being Written by Lawrence Kasdan?

Via: CBM

Disney has yet to announce the stand alone Star Wars movies that they are currently developing. The only movies that have been officially announced at this point are Star Wars: Episode VII, VIII, and IX. I think we all knew deep down that one of these spin-off films would involve the bounty hunter Boba Fett.

In a recent interview with AMC Movie Talk, Metalocalypse director Jon Schnepp basically confirms that a Boba Fett solo movie is in the works, and that Empire Strike Back scribe Lawrence Kasdan is the one writing the script for it! The director seems pretty sure of himself too saying,

“One of them is Boba Fett. It is. I know. I know for a fact. I will never reveal my source, but it is the one written by Lawrence Kasdan.”

Until we hear anything official, lets treat this as a rumor, but at the same time it does make perfect sense that Kasdan would be writing a Boba Fett movie. Now if they could only get Boba Fett creator Joe Johnston to direct the movie! That would be amazing! I’d be disappointed if Lucasfilm didn’t at least approach him about it.
