SPOILERS: Don’t read any further if you don’t want to know:

Before I begin, I just want to say that I’ve been seeing this characters appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy plastered all over the internet, so I don’t think it’s a spoiler at this point. I just wanted to provide the fans who thought it was cool to see the character with information on how the character actually ended up in the film, and if we’ll see him again.

George LucasHoward the Duck movie was the first Marvel film ever made, and an embarrassment. I actually tried watching the movie again recently, and I couldn’t even get 30 minutes into it. Regardless of how bad the movie was though, he has still got the nostalgia thing going for him, and it was awesome to see him in Guardians. If anyone could make Howard work, it’s Marvel and director James Gunn.

While talking to Empire, Gunn revealed how Howard came to be in the movie saying:

“I think it was some combination of me and the editor Fred Raskin who said, ‘Let’s put Howard The Duck in there. What if The Collector looks over and sees Howard The Duck sitting there?’ And I wrote down the line, ‘Whaddya let it lick you like that for? Gross.’ Fred and I thought it was hilarious, but we weren’t sure that (Head of Marvel Studios) Kevin Feige would go for it. But we told Kevin and Kevin couldn’t stop laughing, so that’s how it came about.”

When asked about Howard the Duck possibly getting his own movie, Gunn replied:

“I’ll be honest with you, I was just talking about it with my assistant right now (Laughs). It’s possible Howard could reappear as more of a character in the Marvel Universe. But if people think that’s going to lead to a Howard The Duck movie, that’s probably not going to happen in the next four years. Who knows after that?”

I don’t think the character needs his own film, but it would be cool to see him pop up every now and then. In a separate interview with CBR, Kevin Feige talked about Howard’s cameo as well, saying:

“I think it would be fun to lay claim to Howard and to remind people that he’s more than just a pseudonym for film failure. And that he is a Marvel character. That would be fun.”

Feige then went on to talk about the famous Disney lawsuit threat that forced Marvel to give Howard a different character design and wear pants so that he didn’t look like Donald Duck:

“And no legal wrangling over pants with Disney this time! No. I wasn’t even aware of all that stuff until recently!”

List of Every Superhero and STAR WARS Movie Being Released Through 2020

This is a full list of every superhero and Star Wars movie that is set to be released all the way through 2020, and it looks insane! The world is going to be over-saturated with superhero movies! Do you think this pattern will hold, or do you think audiences will get burnt out of watching these kinds of movies? I don’t think I will ever get burnt-out unless they start making one shitty film after another, but I don’t think that will happen though. I’d like to believe that the good movies will outweigh the bad.  I just enjoy these types of movies, and it seems like audiences do as well. It’s going to be really interesting to see how these movies evolve over the next few years.

Chris Pratt Almost Turned Down Star-Lord Role Because of G.I. Joe

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53e39bb4e4b0910e837807e6/1407425506881/chris-pratt-almost-turned-down-star-lord-role-because-of-gi-joe?format=500w

After seeing Chris Pratt as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s hard to imagine anyone else in the role. He was perfect, but he almost didn’t take the role! He actually passed on the role when it was first pitched to him because of a bad audition he had for G.I. Joe years ago. He talked about all this in a recent interview with Esquire saying:

“When Guardians of the Galaxy was pitched to me, I said, ‘I don’t think so.’ I just didn’t picture myself getting the role. I didn’t want to go and embarrass myself like I did when I auditioned for G.I. Joe a couple of years previously. I went in there, and halfway through I saw the director’s eyes just glaze over. It made sense — I was a little heavy and out of shape. I was not gonna play someone from G.I. Joe. I did not look like a G.I. Joe action figure come to life.”

I’ll just say that I think he’s better off having never got that G.I. Joe role. Director James Gunn saw the potential in Pratt though and cast him, and he ended up getting in shape and looking great. This is what he had to say about being in shape:

“I can do 40-inch box jumps now. Action-hero physical stuff. Jumping that high feels really good. You see a giant hillside, and you think, I wanna get up that. You see a building, you think, I could climb that. When you get in shape, the world around you becomes things you wanna jump on and climb up.”

I’m glad that he got past the failed G.I. Joe audition and took the Guardians role. It was one of the best decisions he could have made, and he was awesome in the role!

Daredevil Set Photos Show First Look At Charlie Cox As Matt Murdock

https://i0.wp.com/cdn.wegotthiscovered.com/wp-content/uploads/matt-murdock-whoops.png?w=584

Marvel Studios left their hordes of fans a bit disappointed after their Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con last weekend, not only because they didn’t talk about any upcoming Phase Three projects beyond Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but because they also didn’t turn any of the spotlight toward their upcoming Daredevil series on Netflix.

They did announce that the show will hit the streaming service in May 2015, but beyond that we got no plot details or images from the highly anticipated series. It is, however, currently filming in Brooklyn under the codename “Bluff,” giving impatient fans the opportunity to take matters into their own hands and snap a few photos from the set.

We unfortunately don’t have any shots of The Man Without Fear in costume (my guess is Marvel will release an official image before they risk that particular detail from leaking), but we do have a good glimpse of his alter-ego, Matt Murdock.

Some new pictures have surfaced (courtesy of Just Jared) showing Boardwalk Empire and Stardust alum Charlie Cox as the young, blind lawyer. Admittedly it’s not much to look at, but as a big Daredevil fan it’s exciting to see tangible evidence that this show is even happening.

Check out the images below, and stay tuned to We Got This Covered for any more pictures and info that find their way online.https://i1.wp.com/cdn.wegotthiscovered.com/wp-content/uploads/BuPSw8MCcAAeOGF.jpg?resize=584%2C579

In case you missed some of the movie’s Easter eggs, YouTube user Mr. Sunday Movies gives us a recap of every one of them. There are a couple things in this video that I didn’t catch the first time around. It’s definitely worth watching if you’re a fan of the movie! You might learn something new.

Spider-Man Spinoff News — Female Superhero Film Planned, Venom Title

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53dfd92de4b0a6a6f5468143/1407179055028/sony-developing-female-superhero-film-and-venom-carnage-title-revealed?format=500w

Sony Pictures continues to expand their Spider-Man cinematic universe. The next film set to be released in the franchise is writer and director Drew Goddard‘s Sinister Six. That’s the first of several films that will revolve around Spider-Man’s rogue gallery of villains. That movie is coming in 2016, and The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is now set for 2018.

According to Deadline, the studio is now looking to add a female superhero to the mix. They’ve hired Lisa Joy Nolan (Pushing Daisies, Burn Notice, Westworld) to work on the script for the character’s story. We don’t know exactly which character the film will center on yet, but Black Cat, Silver Sable, Firestar, and Spider-Woman are a few characters that come to mind. But right now any of these names are speculation. I will say that the Black Cat character was already introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, played by Felicity Jones, so that is a strong possibility.

It is only a matter of time before we see a comic book movie that centers on female superhero, and this is the first one that has kind of been announced in this new generation of superhero movies that is actually going into development. Hopefully it turns out better than the Electra and Catwoman movies. Those did not work at all.

The report also mentions that the title of the Venom movie being developed by Alex Kurtzman is called Venom Carnage. No other details are given, as it’s just mentioned in passing, but if the word “Carnage” is in the title, does that mean we’ll see the character Carnage in the movie?! I sure hope so, because I would love to see Carnage finally brought to life on the big screen!

There’s a lot of potential with these Spider-Man spin-off movies. There’s some decent talent being hired to help in their development, so hopefully they turn out great.

Katee Sackhoff Teases Superhero She Will Play

https://i0.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53dfa0bbe4b03aeecae9b19b/1407164636835/katee-sackhoff-24-dana-walsh.jpg?w=584

Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackhoff has been tweeting some clues that clearly tease a superhero she will be playing as part of a “super secret job.” There’s a photo that shows her having a cast made for her face, and then a little glimpse of a red costume.

There have been a lot of rumors and speculation regarding what superhero or villain Sackhoff could play. She’s already expressed interest in Captain Marvel and Harley Quinn. We do know that at one point Marvel was discussing a potential project with her.

On July 29th she said the following:

“I’m wearing red leather to my meeting with @TheRealStanLee today, sorta just seemed appropriate.”

A few days later these two photos popped up:http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53df9e32e4b0a0eb46c0b12e/1407163954669/?format=300w“Headed out for day one of a super secret job….I will send photo clues throughout the next 3 days! Clue #1”https://i1.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53df9e6ee4b0689349464122/1407164031862/BuFEOfrIYAA60sk.jpg?w=584

“Clue 2”

Who knows exactly what this could all mean? She’s definitely got some kind of superhero project brewing with Marvel. The red and black colors would suggest Captain Marvel. It’s not clear on if this is for a movie, TV show or some other form of entertainment, but if Sackhoff belongs in the Marvel cinematic universe, it would be pretty damn cool if she was going to play Captain Marvel.

Paul Bettany Talks the Vision in AVENGERS

https://i2.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53d7aa0ce4b0907fe7bf97d6/1406642700775/CryingVision.jpg?resize=376%2C551
So, the best news we ever heard was back in February when we learned that Paul Bettany would play the Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Bettany has this weird quality of easygoing intensity, and no matter what kind of terrible movie he is in he reads every line like it’s Shakespeare. He is (was?) great as JARVIS, but we’re excited to see him in actual action. Our colleagues at Superhero Hype recently interviewed him about his role in the Avengers sequel. Here are some highlights:

On getting the part:

For a long while I discovered, having playing JARVIS, I wasn’t allowed to then play another character and Joss Whedon and I got on very well and he looked for a way to make that work and found it, though I can’t say what the relationship is between Vision and JARVIS.

On what makes the Vision interesting:

The thing that appealed to me is that this sort of nascent creature being born, being both omnipotent and totally naive, the sort of danger of that and complex nature of a thing being born that is that powerful and that created in a second and the choices he makes morally are really complex and interesting. They’ve really managed to maintain all of that, the old image I love is of him crying, I think it’s really expressed kind of beautifully in this “Avengers” film.

i know i am excited to see what becomes of vision!  he was always an importatn part of the team!  What do you think!

Deadpool Leaked Test Footage,Ryan Reynolds

I have no idea why of all thing this decided to make an appearance on the web today. Since Ryan Reynolds played Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine everyone has asked for a Deadpool movie. Now after almost two years of rumors, the Deadpool test footage has made its way online.  Its mainly CG but you can clearly tell that R.R. is doing the voice for the character and it is so Badass!

Photo of ‘Vision’ From ‘Age of Ultron’

Here is our first real look at Paul Bettany as Vision in the ‘Avengers:Age of Ultron’ movie. Bettany has previously voiced the character of Jarvis, the A.I. who talks to Iron Man and is basically his computerized butler.

At Comic-Con Bettany said that the character of Vision and Jarvis are connected but he could not elaborate on that, “It has to be a mystery” he said.

When asked about the costume he had this to say: “It is a real thing. We spent a lot of time working out how to keep me cool in that costume. While it is one of the most genuinely, in all of the work that I’ve ever done, an extraordinary achievement that has nothing to do with me, it’s just a really beautiful piece of design and then manufacturing this thing out of a lot of materials that haven’t existed for a long time. It’s really cool looking. The consequence is it’s fucking hot!”
