Seems Like Liam Neeson Would Reprise His Qui-Gon Jinn Role in Lucasfilm’s OBI-WAN KENOBI Movie

It’s no secret that Lucasfilm is currently developing an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie. It’s in the very early stages of development and we have no idea what exactly they are planning. What we do know is that the studio is looking at hiring Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot and The Hours) to direct.

We also know that Ewan McGregor is up for reprising his role if Lucasfilm comes knocking. Who knows, maybe they already have and no one is saying anything. Now Liam Neeson is saying that he’s open to reprising his role of Quin-Gon Jinn in the film if he’s asked! While talking to Yahoo, he was asked about the possibility of returning and this is what he said:

The Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren Showdown From THE LAST JEDI Recreated in 16-Bit Greatness

I don’t know about you, but when I was growing up I loved playing the 16-bit Star Wars game on Super Nintendo. I wish those were included in the SNES Classic console! It would be so cool to see the current trilogy of films get similar playable games, but thanks to Mr. Sunday Movies we can at least get an idea of what it would look like if Star Wars: The Last Jedi was a 16-bit video game.

The video below was created by animator John Stratman and it focuses on the badass climatic moment of the film where we see Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren face off on the planet of Crait. This is easily one of my favorite moments of the movie, and this is a radical recreation of that scene that I think fans are going to love! Check it out!

If you haven’t seen the movie yet, you’ll probably want to skip this because of spoilers.

If you’ve seen the movie you know exactly what scene I’m talking about. Well, Huxley Berg Studios has re-created that scene with LEGO stop-motion and the end result turned out pretty impressive. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, then you might want to skip it because it contains some major spoilers for the movie. Mark Hamill Doubles Down That Disney Did Not Pressure Him Into Apologizing For His LAST JEDI Comments

mark_hamill.jpgMark Hamill is a national treasure. He is the best Joker, he has lent his voice to so many other great characters, and of course, he’s Luke Skywalker. Over the past couple weeks, there has been quite the controversy revolving around Hamill though and some comments he made. It all started with an interview where Hamill mentioned that he didn’t care for Rian Johnson’s portrayal of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This was followed up by a tweet days later where he apologized for making his thoughts on the matter public which fans saw as Disney and Lucasfilm pressuring Hamill to back off. Well, Hamill has taken to Twitter again to clarify that he has not received any such pressure to back off and that it was of his own accord that he sent out the apology. I actually really liked the way Luke was handled in The Last Jedi. I felt like it worked very well with the messages of the movie. I know many of you don’t agree, but let us know your thoughts on Luke in this latest film.

Alec Guinness Charmingly Talks About How Much He Hated Working on STAR WARS in 1976 Letter

Most Star Wars fans already know that Alec Guinness wasn’t a big fan of his work on Star Wars: A New Hope. But, a new letter has surfaced that he sent to a friend of his in which he shares his thoughts about the film while he was working on it and how he wasn’t really a big fan of the experience. However, he’s very eloquent and charming in his wording.

The letter was posted on Reddit and you can read it below:

My dear Anne,

I have returned to London this evening for my stint at the studio for the rest of the week. Can’t say I’m enjoying the film — new rubbish dialogue reaches me every other day on wages of pink paper — and none of it makes my character clear or even bearable. I just think, thankfully, of the lovely bread, which will help me keep going until next April even if ‘Yahoo’ collapses in a week.

I must off to studio and work with a dwarf (very sweet, — and he has to wash in a bidet) and your fellow countrymen Mark Hamill and Tennyson (that can’t be right) Ford — Ellison (? — No!*) — well, a rangy, languid young man who is probably intelligent and amusing. But Oh, God, God, they make me feel ninety — and treat me as if I was 106.

I just thought that was a fun read and that some of you would enjoy it. He sure seems like a very pleasant person. Even though Star Wars wasn’t the best experience for him, everyone says that he was fantastic to work with on set.

Rian Johnson Says Rey’s True Parentage is Still Open For STAR WARS: EPISODE IX

If you weren’t a fan of the way director Rian Johnson handled the answer to Rey’s origin in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, you’ll be happy to know that that’s not the final word. In a recent interview with HuffPost, the director talks about why he took this aspect of the story in the direction that he did and also says the real truth behind Rey’s parentage is still open.

Mark Hamill Says The Version of Luke Skywalker in THE LAST JEDI is “Not My Luke Skywalker”

It’s no secret that Mark Hamill wasn’t 100% satisfied with how Luke Skywalker was portrayed in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. At one point he even said that he was insulted. Well, now that the movie has been released and people have seen it, he’s not changing his opinion. He still isn’t happy with how Luke Skywalker was portrayed in the movie and he even goes as far to say that “He’s not my Luke Skywalker.”

While doing an interview with JarJar Abrams, Hamill explained:

“I said to Rian, ‘Jedi’s don’t give up.’ I mean, even if he had a problem, he would maybe take a year to try and regroup. But if he made a mistake, he would try and right that wrong.”

He just doesn’t feel that Luke would have acted this way and I know a lot of Star Wars fans feel the same way. But, he goes on to say that he does understand that The Last Jedi wasn’t really a story about Luke Skywalker. It’s a story that focused more on a group of new characters and to tell that story, Luke needed to be something different than what Hamill had in his head. In the end, though, this isn’t his Luke Skywalker.

“This is the next generation of Star Wars, so I almost had to think of Luke as another character. Maybe he’s Jake Skywalker. He’s not my Luke Skywalker, but I had to do what Rian wanted me to do because it serves the story well.”

I’ve been seeing a lot of fans debating over Luke Skywalker’s portrayal in The Last Jedi. I have to say that I found it interesting that Hamill said Jedi don’t give up because they totally do! Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda both pretty much gave up and went into hiding just like Luke did. For years they really didn’t do that much to help combat the Dark Side. Yoda was also reluctant to train Luke like Luke was reluctant to train Rey. They just had different reasons. So, Hamill doesn’t really make the strongest argument.

Anyway, what do you think about Hamill’s comments on Luke Skywalker? Do you agree with him or not?

Watch The Awesome Construction of the Death Star in This Time-Lapse Video

We never saw the Empire build a Death Star from start to finish, just a finished product or an unfinished one. That hasn’t stopped Benjamin Botkin and his brother Issac Botkin from creating this fascinating video of how the Death Star may have been constructed had we seen the full process (thankfully we didn’t suffer through that).

The Botkin brothers have been kind enough to make this a time-lapse video so it only takes a couple minutes to see the construction of this battle station, but it is interesting to watch the order of things. Probably not how I would’ve envisioned it, but I’m not an engineer. I’d probably be wrong.

This video does make me sit in awe of the number of workers that would’ve been needed to construct such a machine. In my opinion, the real star of this short video is the original score that they composed for it. It feels Star Wars-y and sounds fantastic. Even if you don’t want to watch the construction, just listen to the music. Do you think this is how the Death Star would’ve been built?

Over the past few days, I’ve been having a ton of conversations with people regarding Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Whether you loved it or hated it, the film has been a hot topic of conversation. During these conversations, there have been a few people who have had questions regarding Obi-Wan Kenobi and why he didn’t show up. Then some people have brought up old rumors regarding Lando Calrissian’s involvement.

It’s not a spoiler to tell you that these two characters are not in the movie, but I’m going to throw up a spoiler warner because some spoiler things are discussed.
