RIP Bill Paxton, Popular Actor Dead at 61

It’s been confirmed this morning by TMZ that actor Bill Paxton has passed away at the age of 61 due to complications from heart surgery. Yesterday, there had been rumors of Paxton’s passing, although they were questioned as a possible internet hoax, as has been common these days. Paxton’s family released the following statement:

“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery. A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”

WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer William James Myers, known to fans as George “The Animal” Steele, has passed away at the age of 79.

Steele was one of the wildest and most unpredictable Superstars in sports-entertainment history. Yet, despite his green tongue, hairy torso and insatiable appetite for turnbuckle pads, “The Animal” was a very well-educated man. Prior to breaking into sports-entertainment, Steele received his Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University and became a high school teacher and wrestling coach in the Detroit area. Kevin Smith is taking the View Askewniverse in a new direction.

In a lengthy Facebook post, the director of Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Mallrats revealed future plans for his film universe. Actor John Hurt dead at 77

Actor John Hurt arrives for a memorial service for actor and director Richard Attenborough.

Acting legend John Hurt — best known for his roles in The Elephant Man, Alien and the Harry Potter series — died on Friday after a battle with cancer.

The 77-year-old British screen star is survived by his wife of 12 years, movie producer Anwen Rees-Myers.

While a cause of death was not immediately given, Hurt had been suffering from pancreatic cancer, which he first revealed having in June 2015. Continue reading

Mary Tyler Moore, Television Legend, Dead at 80

Mary Tyler Moore, a pop-culture icon who became a torch bearer for the changing perception of women in television, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017, in a Connecticut hospital. She was 80.

“Today, beloved icon, Mary Tyler Moore, passed away at the age of 80 in the company of friends and her loving husband of over 33 years, Dr. S. Robert Levine,” said her longtime representative Mara Buxbaum. “A groundbreaking actress, producer, and passionate advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Mary will be remembered as a fearless visionary who turned the world on with her smile.”
