Columbia Pictures is set to develop a remake of the 1983 action thriller Blue Thunder. The original movie focused on a high-tech experimental helicopter and a police pilot who learns of the sinister implications of the vehicle. It was configured for law enforcement to use in combat against possible large-scale civil disobedience during the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.The script for the film is being written by Craig Kyle, who is an ex-Marvel Studios executive currently scripting Thor: Ragnarok.
