Hayley Atwell made a scheduled appearance at Mega-Con today in Orlando and of course everybody wanted to talk about “Marvel’s Agent Carter” and its recent cancellation. According to reports online, originating from a fan who attended the event, the actress – who plays Peggy Carter on the hit series – told the audience that she was flattered by the support and the petition to revive the series. When asked if she would return to do a third season – that is if the petition is successful – Atwell responded with “Yes. 100 Percent“.I love Peggy. Hayley Atwell (Marvel’s Agent Carter) is finding another home on ABC.
The network has officially ordered Atwell’s new drama Conviction for the 2016-17 season. Atwell plays Hayes Morrison, a lawyer and former First Daughter who takes a job offered by her nemesis NY District Attorney Wayne Wallis (Eddie Cahill) to avoid going to jail for cocaine possession. We learned last fall that Hayley Atwell is set to make an appearance in Marvel Studio’s upcoming “Phase Two” capper, Ant-Man. Rumors at the time suggested that the Peyton Reed film will feature a flashback in which Hank Pym meets with the founding members of S.H.I.E.L.D. Today, Newsarama has posted several pages from Marvel’s official comic book tie-in prequel to the film, revealing a surprising working relationship between Pym and an older Peggy Carter. As you can see from the page below, Peggy appears to be training with Pym using a very similar method to the one she employed to test Steve Roger’s vibranium shield in Captain America: The First Avenger. Does this mean that Michael Douglas’ Pym will have extensive ties to S.H.I.E.L.D.? Only time will tell, but it’s certainly looking likely. Continue reading
