Obadiah Stane Was Originally Not Supposed to Die in IRON MAN
Not only was Jeff Bridge’s character Obadiah Stane from Iron Man the first main villain to be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he was also the first villain to be killed off. Back in November of last year, Daniel Brühl was officially cast in Captain America: Civil War as an as yet unrevealed villain. Fan speculation and lots of other rumors alluded to Brühl being Baron Zemo. Marvel Comics Reveals New Details on the Universe-Combining Secret Wars
Back in October, Marvel Comics announced an all-new Secret Wars series would be taking place in 2015 and would later reveal that the story’s “Battleworld” would be made up of different stories from all throughout the Marvel canon.
