Scarlett Johansson Reveals The Crazy Number of Characters That are in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

We figured Avengers: Infinity War was gonna have a lot of characters in it. After all, it’s Marvel’s penultimate film for what is the Marvel Universe’s Avengers smackdown. But I don’t think anyone had thought that it would have more than 50 characters let alone 60.

In a recent late night show visit with Stephen Colbert, Scarlett Johansson revealed that the amount of Marvel characters in the film would be around 61 or 62. When pressed if that is just in one scene, she clarified that there is about 32 in one specific scene. 61? 32? What sort of madman makes a film like that!?

Now, just how she defines a Marvel character could be interesting. Maybe there’s an extra in the film who plays a specific Marvel character that none of us know about. Off the top of my head, I can only even think of like 30 characters who have even been officially announced to be IN Avengers: Infinity War, let alone 60.

Granted, maybe she was just exaggerating in her interview, but then again 61 or 62 seems like a rather specific number to pull out of the air. She could have just said around 50 or something, but she said 61 or 62. This movie looks like it’s going to be CRAZY packed with Marvel characters. I’m excited to see it just for the fact that this many big stars are in one movie that isn’t revolving around a holiday. In fact, it almost seems like there might be… Too many Cooks…..

Marvel superheroes that won’t survive Avengers: Infinity War

Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled for May 4, 2018, and promises to be a massive, epic, worthy “finale” for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first three chapters. By now, the MCU has grown to encompass dozens of heroes—meaning there are plenty of candidates to bite the dust in the epic battle with Thanos. And people will die: The film is loosely based on the Infinity Gauntlet comic book, which was one of the biggest events ever and killed off pretty much every one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes at different points along the way. Who will Marvel Studios choose to eat it? Here’s our take on the candidates most likely to not survive Marvel’s blockbuster war: (POTENTIAL SPOILERS!) Continue reading

It’s no secret that the Guardians of the Galaxy team is going to be in Avengers: Infinity War. It’s been teased by the writers and later confirmed by Vin Diesel. Zoe Saldana is now talking about the highly anticipated Marvel film, and in an interview with IGN, she seemingly confirms that Guardians of the Galaxy franchise director James Gunn will serve as a producer on the 2018 release. Her exact words were:

“James Gunn is a producer on [Avengers: Infinity War]. I know that he won’t ever let the integrity of what he’s created for the Guardians ever be compromised, so I’m at ease.”

How Many Characters Will Appear in Avengers: Infinity War?

Answer: Avengers: Infinity War may feature 67 characters.

Last week, co-director Joe Russo said that fans “will not be disappointed” in the number of characters set to appear in Avengers: Infinity War, but just how many characters does that mean? Speaking at Wizard World New Orleans (via CBM), the Russos put a number out there, and it’s a big one.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Begins Filming in 2016, Will Shoot For 9 Months

Avengers: Age of Ultron has already made hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office and it hasn’t even opened in the United States yet. That’ll happen later this week, and I’m guessing it’ll surpass Furious 7 as the highest-grossing movie of the year…at least until Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes out. Meanwhile, the actors that comprise the Marvel superhero team are on their seemingly-never-ending press tour, and Chris Evans spoke with Esquire and revealed the filming schedule for the highly-anticipated two-part mega-sequel Avengers: Infinity War. Russo Brothers to Direct ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Parts 1 and 2

Joe and Anthony Russo - H 2015

Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and will return for Captain America: Civil War, are cementing themselves as Marvel’s main movie executors.

The brothers will direct both parts of the studio’s Avengers: Infinity War, taking over the billion-dollar franchise from Joss Whedon, who directed the first two Avengers films. (The second one, Avengers: Age of Ultron, opens May 1.) They’ll film Infinity War in one long shoot beginning sometime in 2016, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

No writers are attached, but the brothers will likely reunite with Winter Soldier’s Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. They collaborated on Civil War, which the Russos will begin shooting next month.

The new deal raises the question of the status of the Russos’ deal with Sony. The duo signed a three-year first-look deal with the Culver City-based studio in March. Working on an Avengers movie is an all-consuming endeavor, so how active they will be within that deal remains to be seen.

Civil War, for which the brothers are in preproduction and which is considered to be a mini Avengers movie due to the large cast of heroes, has a May 6, 2016, release date. Infinity War — Part 1 and Infinity War — Part 2 are slated to be released May 4, 2018, and May 3, 2019, respectively.

The Infinity get is a massive feather in the duo’s cap and marks the latest in an incredible career trajectory. The Russos began in television comedy, directing episodes of Arrested Development in the early to mid-2000s, and continued to work in the field in 2012 with Happy Endings and Up All Night. It was their work on some of the geeky episodes of Community, however, that led to Winter Soldier — a movie that grossed $717.7 million worldwide.
