Benedict Cumberbatch Confirmed For Doctor Strange

Marvel.com has confirmed that Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch will play Stephen Strange in Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange.

“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”

Doctor Strange will be directed by Scott Derrickson, from a screenplay by Jon Spaihts. The film will tell the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

News of Cumberbatch playing the role first surfaced just before Marvel Studio’s announcement of their phase 3 plans, but remained unconfirmed, with Feige saying that anything not announced was, at that point, not official. This likely means that the studio was still working out negotiations with Cumberbatch, which have now been finalized.

Doctor Strange opens November 4, 2016.

Krysten Ritter To Play Jessica Jones In Marvel’s Netflix Series

Krysten Ritter Jessica Joines_edited-1Marvel is mum as usual, but I hear they have tapped Krysten Ritter for the lead in the company’s straight-to-series drama Jessica Jones. Ritter was one of five actresses who tested for the role. I hear it came down to her and Teresa Palmer, with both doing chemistry reads with The Following‘s Mike Colter, believed to be the choice for male lead Luke Cage

Ritter comes from a similar comedy background as Chris Pratt, the star of the latest Marvel hit superhero franchise, Guardians Of The Galaxy. While she recently did several comedy pilots and series, including cult ABC show Don’t Trust The B—-, Ritter also had a role on the dark AMC drama Breaking Bad. She will next be seen in Tim Burton’s Big Eyes. Ritter is repped by WME, Sanders Armstrong Caserta Management and manager Kyle Luker as well as attorney Dave Feldman.

Peter Jackson: Tolkien Estate Rights Prevent More Middle-Earth Films

The director says that “without the cooperation of the Tolkien estate, there can’t be more films”

At Monday’s world premiere of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies in London, Ian McKellen fueled rumors that Peter Jackson would be returning to Middle-earth, saying that he didn’t “believe necessarily that this is the end of the journey.”

But at a press conference Tuesday, the director swiftly put down any hopes that he would be delving further between the lines of J.R.R. Tolkien’s works.

“It’s a legal thing. The Tolkien estate owns the writings of Professor TolkienThe Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings were sold by Professor Tolkien the late 60s … the film rights,” he said.

“But they are the only two works of his that have been sold. So without the cooperation of the Tolkien estate, there can’t be more films.”

Jackson did say that fans wanting more could look forward to his extended edition DVD of the The Battle of the Five Armies, which he would be heading back to New Zealand to work on in the new year.

“I’ll be putting that together for about four or five months, which will be fun,” he said, later describing how the release would enable people to finally watch the entire extended editions of The Hobbit and Lord of the Ring trilogies back-to-back. “It’s 24 hours of joy,” he laughed.

Also at the press conference, Andy Serkis — recently revealed to be the voice in the new Star Wars teaser — spoke of his delight at working with Jackson behind the camera in the final Hobbit.

“Being asked to direct the second unit was an enormous shock, but it really speaks of how Pete collaborates with all the cast members and all the crew, and is a natural leader and a brilliant filmmakers,” he said. “His virtues are that he is the most incredibly generous human being, and to learn from a director who is a the most incredibly generous human being — you really couldn’t ask for a better mentor.”

Spectre to be title of next James Bond film

Daniel Craig with Lea Seydoux (left) and Monica BellucciSpectre will be the title of the 24th official James Bond film, its makers have announced.

Director Sam Mendes revealed the title at a launch event at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, where principal photography is due to begin on Monday.

Daniel Craig will play 007 for the fourth time in the film, to be released in the UK on 23 October 2015.

Other cast members were also announced at Thursday’s event, which was beamed around the world.

They include Sherlock’s Andrew Scott, as a Whitehall-based character called Denbigh, and Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista, playing a henchman called Mr Hinx.

Italian actress Monica Bellucci and France’s Lea Seydoux have been unveiled as the new ‘Bond girls’, named Lucia Sciarra and Madeleine Swann respectively.Daniel Craig and Christoph Waltz

As previously reported, double Oscar winner Christoph Waltz will have a role in the film, playing a character called Oberhauser.

The name of the character is the same as that of Bond’s former ski instructor, though it has been rumoured Waltz will really be playing Bond’s old nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Spectre – Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion – was the name of an international crime syndicate, whose ‘Number One’ was Blofeld himself.

The organisation featured in the Bond films of the 1960s and was part of a legal tussle with a rival film producer that was recently resolved after many years.

Thursday’s event also saw the unveiling of the Aston Martin DB10 which Bond will be driving in his latest screen adventure.

The car manufacturer had had a long association with the James Bond series, starting with Goldfinger in 1964.

Returning cast members Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Ben Whishaw (Q) and Rory Kinnear (Tanner) were also presented before the world’s media, alongside Craig himself.

Craig, 46, first played Ian Fleming’s legendary secret agent in 2006’s Casino Royale, then in 2008’s Quantum of Solace and 2012’s Skyfall.

“We’ve got an amazing cast and, I think, a better script than we had last time,” Craig told the BBC’s Lizo Mzimba after the announcement.

But he refused to confirm Waltz would be playing Blofeld in the film, saying people would have to “wait and see”.

“We started something in Skyfall, it felt like a beginning of something,” the actor went on.

“This feels like a continuation of that. We’re going to put all of those elements in, and much more.”

According to the film studio, the plot will see “a cryptic message from Bond’s past send him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation.Aston Martin DB10

“While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind Spectre.”

The 007 production will be based at Pinewood Studios and on location in London, Mexico City, Rome and Tangier and Erfoud, in Morocco.

Bond will return to the snow once again, this time in Solden, along with other Austrian locations, Obertilliach, and Lake Altaussee.

“All of them are amazing places,” said Mendes. “I’m very excited to be going to these locations over seven months, which is how long we’ll be shooting.

Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said they were “excited to announce Daniel’s fourth instalment in the series”.

They also said they were “thrilled that Sam has taken on the challenge of following on the success of Skyfall with Spectre”.

John Logan has written the script for Spectre alongside writing team Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, while Hoyte van Hoytema will be its director of photography.

The Dutch cinematographer of Her and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy recently wowed audiences with his work on Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.

SUICIDE SQUAD Cast Officially Locked Down!

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/547e4811e4b0d416e652656f/1417562130091/suicide-squad-cast-officially-locked-down?format=750w

It looks like everyone of those casting rumors surrounding director David Ayer‘s Suicide Squad was true. Variety is reporting that the DC Entertainment film production has locked down Jared Leto, Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, and Cara Delevingne. This is an incredibly impressive cast for the super villain movie.

The movie is based on the DC Comic, the story of which “centers on the team of super villains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. The catch: Their mission will probably kill them all.”

Here’s the list of actors and the characters that they will be playing in the movie:

Jared Leto – The Joker

Will Smith – Deadshot

Tom Hardy – Rick Flagg

Margot Robbie – Harley Quinn

Jai Courtney – Boomerang

Cara Delevinge – Enchantress

According to the report, Jesse Eisenberg is still in talks to play Lex Luthor in the movie. He will make his first appearance as this character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The filmmakers are still looking to cast someone in the role of Amanda Waller, the character who oversees the team. The list of actresses currently being looking at include Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, and Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey is WB’s first choice for the part.

Warner Bros. President Greg Silverman said in a statement,

“The Warner Bros. roots are deep on this one. We look forward to seeing this terrific ensemble, under David Ayer’s amazing guidance, give new meaning to what it means to be a villain and what it means to be a hero.”

Apparently the studio has always likened this project as the Oceans Eleven of comic book movies, and they were really hoping to bring together an A-list ensemble cast. Well, they succeeded, and I couldn’t be more stoked to see this movie.

so what do you think? do you think this movie could work?  what about the  cast  good or  bad?

The movie hits theaters on August 5th, 2016,

BATMAN V SUPERMAN – Doomsday Confirmed and Villain Easter Eggs Revealed

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/547e28b9e4b091d03e1efce5/1417554106921/batman-v-superman-doomsday-confirmed-and-villain-easter-eggs-revealed?format=750w

Let’s take a little break from all the Star Wars news, and talk about some things happening with Zack Snyder‘s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The following information might be considered SPOILER territory for some of you, so I’m just throwing out the warning. The information contains a few surprise villain Easter Eggs that will be included in the story.

It was previously reported that Doomsday would be in the movie, but Badass Digest solidly confirms it in their report. One of the other villains that is mentioned is KGBeast, who is one of Lex Luthor’s evil agents. The site explains:

“Yes! Lex Luthor has many agents making his dark agenda a reality, an agenda that includes keeping an eye on all metahumans, mainly a woman who walks the streets today but who is seen in pictures from the 1800s. A wonder woman, you might say. At any rate, one of Luthor’s agents has a name, and that name is Anatoli Knyazev. Hardcore fans will recognize that as the name of the KGBeast, a Batman villain introduced in 1988’s classic Ten Nights of the Beast storyline. In that story the Beast, an enhanced agent of the KGB, came to the US to kill ten targets, and he did it with extreme measures, including poisoning an entire 200 person dinner party to get one guy. He battled Batman to a standstill, and at one point when entangled in the Batrope the KGBeast cut off his own hand to escape. He of course put a cybernetic gun on the stump, as you do.”

The report says that we won’t see this version of KGBeast in the movie, but the character’s name is in the script. It’s more of an easter egg for all the fans that I guess could possibly lead into something more.

There’s one other big easter egg that you will find in Batman v Superman. Apparently, the Joker already exists in the cinematic universe that they’ve set up and Superman knows about him. Unfortunately, we wont see him in the movie either, but who knows where it will lead.

I am really excited about the film but we are still so far away from the  films release.  what do you think about this?

THE WALKING DEAD Companion Series Has New Title and Cast Members

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/547df794e4b0e38659633fbd/1417541525300/the-walking-dead-companion-series-gets-new-title-and-cast-members?format=750wTwo of the lead roles have been cast for The Walking Dead companion series that is currently in development. The roles will be played by Frank Dillane (Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm). The series is also now going by the name of Cobalthttp://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/547dfd47e4b094c0028c577b/1417542984084/Walkingdeadcasting1212?format=500w

The news comes from Deadline, and they say that the story “takes place during the same zombie apocalypse depicted on The Walking Dead but in a different location. It revolves around a male divorced teacher and a female guidance counselor.” Dillane will play the woman’s son, who has battled some drug problems, and Debnam Carey plays the woman’s ambitious daughter.

Cobalt was co-created by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and Sons of Anarchy writer Dave EricksonAdam Davidson is set to direct the pilot episode, and I’ve included the previously released breakdown of characters in the story below.

SEAN CABRERA | A Latino male in his early 40s, Sean is a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life.

CODY CABRERA | Sean’s whip-smart and rebellious teenage son. Known as the angriest kid in town.

NANCY TOMPKINS | A thirtysomething single mom to two kids, Nancy looks like the girl next door, but there’s an edge to her.

NICK TOMPKINS | Nancy’s screwed up teenage son. He’s too old to stay home, too scared to flee.

ASHLEY TOMPKINS | Nancy’s mostly level-headed teenage daughter. Her ambition is in direct proportion to her older brother’s failures. She loves her mom but it’s time to get out of Dodge.

ANDREA CHAPMAN | A somewhat wilted flower child, fortysomething Andrea — yep, another Andrea! — has retreated to the outskirts of the city to recover after a horrible marriage.

Amc has alot riding on the walking dead  so  this  new series well tell if it can carry another story!

Get Over Here and look at Mezco's lovely Mortal Kombat Figures

It’s been a while since the fighters of the gloriously gory Mortal Kombat have been action figures, but we won’t have to wait much longer – Mezco revealed that they’d acquired the license at NYCC, and have now released the first images of Raiden, Sub-Zero and Scorpion for us to ogle at. Hooray!

The figures, based on the designs of the characters in next year’s Mortal Kombat X, are in 6-inch scale and each come with a bunch of accessories – Raiden comes with lighting hands befitting his thunder god powers, Sub-Zero with some Ice-crafted weapons, and of course, Scorpion gets his chain spear for all the ‘Get over Here!’ related action you need:

A New ReBoot Series May Be On Its Way, And It’s Not A Reboot

A New ReBoot Series May Be On Its Way, And It's Not A Reboot

The creators of the beloved, Canadian, and CG-animated cartoon have announced that they’re finally making a new ReBoot series, and I find it quite appropriate that although details are scarce, it sounds like it’ll take place in the exact same world of the original!

It’s titled ReBoot: The Guardian Code, and Rainmaker animation studio president Michael Hefferon says that original characters Bob, Dot and Enzo will be “major” characters in the new series — as opposed to reimagining the original show for new audiences. Apparently the new series will aim for a younger audience, more like the original show’s first two seasons, as opposed to the darker, fan-favorite third season. But who’s to say the stakes won’t rise over time?

Supposedly Rainmaker is looking to air the show on Canadian network YTV, but I feel confident that if they do manage to make Guardian Code, it won’t be long before Cartoon Network or the like airs it in America as well.
