DOCTOR STRANGE Set for Release in 2016, Will Shoot in UK

Marvel has been developing Doctor Strange for years, and a new report from Screen Daily reveals that it will finally be released in theaters on July 8th, 2016. They also say that the studio is looking to shoot the film in May 2015 at Pinewood-Shepperton Studios in the UK.

Scott Derrickson (Sinister) is directing Doctor Strange from a script most recently written by Jon Spaihts. An earlier draft of the script had been written by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer.

It has yet to be announced who will play Strange in the film, but Joaquin Phoenix is said to be in final talks for the lead, and he’s the one actor mentioned in the report. Other actors that have been previously linked to the role include Jared Leto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hardy, Edgar Ramirez, and Jack Huston.

Doctor Strange was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, and he made his first appearance in 1963’s “Strange Tales” #110. It follows the adventures of Stephen Strange, “a brilliant neurosurgeon who, following a car accident, loses precision in his hands. His quest to regain his former skills sets Strange on a path to become the ‘Master of the Mystic Arts.'”

I am not so sure about this film,  i ma not a fan!!  I know  no one really knew who the guardians were and that went big!  Just not sure about this as a solo film!  I guess we wll have to wait and see!

Animated Miniseries Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles Head to Machinima in 2015

In the first programming collaboration since Warner Bros.’ investment in Machinima earlier this year, it was announced today that Machinima has greenlit the new animated shortform series “Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles,” from Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett (both producers on “Batman: The Animated Series”). The digital series is based on Justice League: Gods & Monsters, an original animated film executive produced by Timm and co-produced by Burnett that will be released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment later in 2015. “Chronicles” will focus on alternate versions of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

“Ever since we announced the Warner Bros. strategic investment, we have been looking for a new and exciting way to tap into the company’s unmatched content. With ‘Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles,’ Machinima will be the very first place fans can experience a new vision for DC Comics’ beloved Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman characters. In addition, we have built a first-of-its-kind package for brands to engage with these characters to reach Machinima’s elusive audience,” said Chad Gutstein, Machinma’s CEO.

“Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles” marks the first project from Warner Bros.’ newly-formed digital content production unit, headed up by Sam Register, President, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series.

Sam Register said: “We couldn’t be happier to be announcing our first new digital series today, and we’re even more excited that it’s a collaboration with such accomplished storytellers as Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett, who have been responsible for some of the most innovative and creative DC Universe projects. “Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles” explores a newly conceived reality in the DC Universe where Justice League members Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are much darker versions of the Super Heroes that people think they know. The episodes are expected to debut on Machinima in spring 2015, weeks before the launch of the film.

MARRIED… WITH CHILDREN Spin-Off Series in the Works

It’s been about 20 years since the Married… With Children sitcom ended, but Bud Bundy is all grown up and might just return for a spin-off series! I watched this show all the time when it was on the air and I thought it was a great show.

The series launched the careers of Ed O’Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate, and David Faustino. The new series is being developed at Sony Pictures Television and it will center on Faustino’s Bud Bundy character. There’s no word on if the actor will be reprising his role in the new show, or if any of the other original cast members will be involved in the potential spin-off, but at this point there’s a chance any of them could.

Married… With Children was was created by Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt. It was one of the first original series on the Fox network, and it ran for 11 seasons from 1987-1997.

As for the original cast, O’Neill currently stars on ABC’s hilarious comedy series Modern Family. Applegate has done a ton of films and TV series in her career. Sagal’s recent project is Sons of Anarchy, which is currently is wrapping up the final season on FX. Then there’s Faustino, the least successful of the bunch. He recently reunited with O’Neill on Modern Family.

I am not so sure about this series!  It  does not  seem like it would be something i would  watch and i watched the original sereis and loved it as a kid!  I am hoping that the series  would be something more exciting!  what do you think?

Last week Marvel announced five new release dates, pushing the limits of its ever-expanding cinematic universe to 2019. At this point in time, no films have been announced for those dates, but that’s likely going to change this weekend when Marvel takes the stage at Hall H during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Now, just hours after Sony announced that The Amazing Spider-Man 4 had vacated its May 4th, 2018 release date (and that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 had been pushed into an unspecified date in 2018), Marvel has stepped up and claimed that May 4th date for one of its own films.

This continues Marvel’s aggressive trend of planting flags years in advance and is something that will only intensify the release date war currently waging between the likes of Marvel, Sony, Fox, and Warner Bros., which are all making big pushes to unleash superhero tentpole films.

While the studio is remaining tight-lipped about its plans for this new May date, there’s a very good chance it could be reserved for Avengers 3. We initially speculated that the third Avengers film could arrive in 2019, but that’s only because there wasn’t a May date available in 2018. I could be wrong, of course, but judging by the way the studio has structured the MCU so far, releasing Avengers 3 in May 2018 just makes more sense.

Marvel probably won’t unveil all of its future plans at Comic-Con this year, but we should definitely expect some big things from them this week. As of right now, its release date schedule looks like this:

Leslie Mann Joins New Line’s ‘Vacation’ Sequel as Audrey Griswold

Leslie Mann is joining the cast of New Line’s “Vacation” sequel opposite Ed Helms and Christina Applegate.

Shooting is set to start next week in Louisiana with John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein making their directorial debut from their script. Helms is starring as Rusty Griswold, the grown-up son of Clark Griswold (portrayed by Chevy Chase in the 1983 film), who takes a family trip similar to the one he took as a boy.

Mann will play Rusty’s sister Audrey Griswold, who was played by Dana Barron in the 1983 original. Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins have been tapped as Rusty Griswold’s sons in the reboot and Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day are in negotiations to appear.

Chase and Beverly D’Angelo, who played Clark Griswold’s wife in the original, are on board to appear.

Chris Bender and David Dobkin are producing. Jeff Kleeman is exec producing.

Tom Hiddleston to star in King-Kong spin-off, ‘Skull Island’

Tom Hiddleston, who’s currently tuning up to croon as Hank Williams in I Saw the Light, will star in Legendary’s big-budget King-Kong spin-off (of sorts), titled Skull Island. Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) will direct a script written by Max Borenstein (Godzilla) that explores the mysterious island that was the home of Kong and other terrifying prehistoric creatures. “Previous works have touched on the island, but staying on and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions,” said the company, in a statement. “Universal Pictures will distribute the film on Nov. 4, 2016.”

At Comic-Con in July, Legendary’s Thomas Tull had announced plans for Skull Island, and Attack the Block‘s Joe Cornish was rumored to be the frontrunner to direct. A Skull Island movie, penned by Godzilla‘s scribe, could further speculation that Legendary is planning a Godzilla/Kong crossover at some point.

It’s actually really interesting to see how it all came together, and it happened so fast. The video also includes footage from the film and the set.

Wallace (Justin Long) co-hosts a popular podcast with his pal Teddy (Haley Joel Osment), focusing on cruel, mocking cringe humour as part of their mission to keep it “real and raunchy.” After his trip to Winnipeg to interview the “Kill Bill Kid” — a teen whose unfortunate samurai-sword video has gone viral — comes up empty, Wallace decides to make the trip worth his while and find a good story north of the forty-ninth parallel. A handwritten flyer he finds in a bar bathroom leads him to a grizzled old swab (Michael Parks) full of tall tales to share from his life of adventure at sea — and this is where Wallace’s voyage to the Great White North descends into straight-up madness.

The movie screened at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this month, and the reviews that I’ve seen have been good. It hits theaters on September 19th.

Scott Glenn Cast As Stick In Daredevil

Scott Glenn has been cast as Stick in Marvel Studios’ Daredevil series, according to Marvel.com.

Glenn is known for appearing in films such as The Bourne Ultimatum, Silence of the Lambs and The Hunt for Red October.

Glenn’s character, Stick, was created by Frank Miller and is the blind martial artist who trains Matt Murdock to become Daredevil. In the Marvel Comics universe, he is the leader of a group of martial artists called the Chaste, so named because they are free from the taint of evil. The Chaste are the rivals of the demonic ninja clan known as the Hand. Stick also trained Daredevil’s rival and lover, the Hand assassin Elektra.

“Stick is one of the most important figures in Matt Murdock’s life and Scott Glenn embodies all the qualities of someone so integral to this hero’s journey,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “There are few actors who could bring such the authenticity, gravitas and charisma to such a key role in Matt’s journey to become the super hero we call Daredevil.”

Scott Glenn joins a cast that already includes Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), with Rosario Dawson and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk).

Daredevil will premiere on Netflix in May 2015.

Titans TV Series With Nightwing Reportedly Coming to TNT

DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns just retweeted a Wall Street Journal report on Twitter suggesting that a Titans TV series could be coming to TNT — and in doing so, name-dropped Nightwing.

  ‘Titans’ TV Series, Based on DC Comic, May Come to TNT

Warner Bros., which owns DC Comics, is developing a “Titans” television series and is in talks with cable network TNT to air it.

The report suggests that the series would be based loosely on (or at least resemble) Marv Wolfman and George Perez’s The New Teen Titans, in which the original Titans “sidekick” Titans were members but many of them had moved past their sidekick roles to adopt personalities and identities of their own. Robin became Nightwing, Wonder Girl eschewed a secret identity altogether and just became Donna Troy, etc.

Akiva Goldsman, who wrote Batman Forever and Batman and Robin as well as less-awful films like The Da Vinci Code and A Beautiful Mind, will write the pilot. Goldsman had previously been attached to a film version of the property that never went forward, although recently rumors started to circulate that a Teen Titans movie was back in development. It seems likely those rumors were confused and that the TV series isn’t being co-developed with an unrelated feature film (although anything is possible).

A kid-friendly animated version of the property, Teen Titans GO!, currently airs on Cartoon Network. It replaced Young Justice on the schedule, reportedly because it appealed more to younger kids and had more merchandising potential. It will probably only be a matter of minutes before Young Justice fans start to speculate the move is related to building the Titans brand for a live-action show.

A younger, Titans-inspired version of the Justice League appeared on The CW’s Smallville.

Cyborg is named in the article specifically, which is interesting considering that the character has already been cast for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. While Bruce Wayne is appearing on Gotham, it’s been made clear that he won’t be Batman and character for whom DC has “other plans” have been left out of Arrow and The Flash, suggesting that the studio remained reluctant to have two different versions of the same superhero existing in live-action at the same time.

Recently, reports surfaced that a Supergirl TV series was being developed by The Flash’s Greg Berlanti. A number of fans have wondered how that show would work without being tied directly to a version of Superman. It would seem that the idea of Dick Grayson operating in a universe without an on-camera Batman would raise some of the same questions.

Netflix’s Daredevil To Be More Violent Than Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Marvel’s The Defenders shows headed to Netflix might not have quite the same levels of objectionable content as other Netflix originals like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, it will have a harder edge than Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Here’s Marvel’s Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight, faced with the question of tone on Twitter:

Of course, “Less than Spartacus, more than S.H.I.E.L.D.” is a pretty big range. The latter airs on prime time on a broadcast network, while the former was original to Starz, a cable net.

The last time Daredevil was adapted, the Ben Affleck film was PG-13, but had little that wouldn’t be at hom on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in terms of sexuality or violence.
