BATMAN and SUPERMAN Won’t Face-Off Until 2016
Looks like Batman and Superman are going to have to wait a little bit longer to fight each other and then team up. Warner Bros. announced that the Zack Snyder directed film will now be released on May 6th, 2016. The previous date was July 17th, 2015. What’s interesting about the new date is that the movie will be going against an unannounced Marvel film, which could very well be Doctor Strange.
Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman had this to say in a statement:
“We are happy to take advantage of these coveted summer dates, which are perfect for two of our biggest tentpole releases. We share the fans’ excitement to see DC Comics’ most popular figures, Superman and Batman, together on the big screen for the first time, which will now be arriving in theatres in May 2016. Peter Pan has delighted people of every generation for more than a century, so we are thrilled to bring him back to the screen next summer for today’s moviegoers.”
In case you haven’t heard, there’s also a rumor going around that the studio will be shooting Batman Vs. Superman back-to-back with Justice League. That may be one of the other reasons that the studio decided to push it back–so they have more time to shoot both films.
It will be interesting to see what Marvel film they are going up against, and if Marvel doesn’t move the date… which one will do better at the box-office?

THOR’s Lady Sif to Appear in Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
Marvel has announced that Jamie Alexander will reprise her role as Lady Sif from the Thor films in ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It’s another gimmick that is going to keep me watching this crappy TV series that already needs a reboot into something better.
The report says that she is coming to Earth for a very specific mission, but they give no details on what that mission will actually be. I really like the character Sif. She’s great, and I wish she would have a slightly bigger role in the cinematic universe, but I’ll take what I can get, which is why I’m still watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I can only hope that the show will get better. It should be fun to see Stan Lee, but I’m mostly excited for the four episode arc that will include Bill Paxton.

Michael Douglas Explains Why He Joined ANT-MAN
Just yesterday we learned that Michael Douglas will be playing Hank Pym in Marvel’s big screen adaptation of Ant-Man. It was a pretty awesome surprise, and I think it’s great that he’s going to be in the film. In a recent interview with Reuters the actor explains why he accepted the role,
“I’ve been dying to do a Marvel picture for so long. The script is really fun, the director is really good. Dylan (the actor’s 13-year-old son) will love it. He’ll have a picture he can see.”
I’m convinced at this point that Marvel can get whoever they hell they want to star in their films. Who doesn’t want to be in a Marvel film!? The big issue seems to be keeping them around and making them happy. I’m getting more and more excited about Edgar Wright‘s Ant-Man! They are bringing together a hell of a cool cast, and I can’t wait to see who else they bring on board!
Microsoft Says They Have No Plans for a HALO Movie
Earlier this week a Production Weekly rumor that Ridley Scott would be producing a big screen adaptation of Halo hit the net. Apparently the movie would exist independently of Steven Spielberg’s series, which is set to air on Xbox Live.
Well, unless Microsoft is lying to us, there’s no truth to that bit of news. They released a statement to Eurogamer that says:
The Halo franchise encompasses many elements, including games, action figures, novels and more. As always, we have many projects in the works that offer us the opportunity to bring in new audiences to the franchise, as we did in the past with Halo Legends and Halo: Forward Unto Dawn. We plan to continue telling the Halo story through innovative channels, but there are no plans for a Halo motion picture at this time.
I am one to say that i am disappointed in the new i was hoping to see a full halo movie soon! ow well maybe one day. What is your thoughts?
NBC Orders TV Pilot for DC Comics’ CONSTANTINE
Dark Knight and Man of Steel screenwriter David Goyer has been developing a TV series based on DC Comics’ Hellblazer, and NBC just ordered a pilot for it.
Warner Bros. TV will develop the series, which will be called Constantine and will follow the character John Constantine, who is thrown into a position where he must defend humanity from the gathering forces of darkness. At the same time, he’s haunted by the sins of his past.
This is the character that was played by Keanu Reeves in the movie adaptation of the same name. It’s a pretty badass character, that I think will make for a really cool series. I don’t know what this means for Guillermo del Toro‘s Justice League Dark film project, as Constantine would have been a main character in the story.
I hope this doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing Del Toro’s movie, because if I had to chose between the two, I’d pick Del Toro over Goyer any day. The pilot episode was written by Daniel Cerone from Dexter, who will also produce the series alongside Goyer.
Scarlett Johansson Says Avengers: Age of Ultron’s Script is Dark and Dry
Captain America: The Winter Soldier doesn’t hit theaters until April 4, but Scarlett Johansson is already planning her fourth big screen adventure as Natasha “Black Widow” Romanoff with next summer’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Catching up with Parade, the Her star says that she has received Joss Whedon’s script and she appears to have nothing but praise for it.
“I think the script is dark and it’s dry,” she says. “It has got this amazing one-liner, glass-cutting sense of humor. Obviously, the script is very cerebral. It doesn’t lose that exciting comic book aspect that people enjoyed in the first film, but it’s smart and it feels like the next installment. It doesn’t feel like a rehashing. It feels like these characters are moving forward. Plotlines are moving forward. It’s deep and I think that’s why people really respond to the Marvel Universe, because the films are fun and exciting and have all that flashy stuff, but there’s a gravity to them. People can expect that gravity this time around.”
In addition to quite a few returning Avengers, Age of Ultron is set to feature James Spader as the title villain with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen joining the cast as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.
Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
New Villain Cast in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
Thomas Kretschmann, who plays Abraham van Helsing on NBC’s Dracula, has been cast in a villain role for Joss Whedon‘s highly anticipated Marvel movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron. According to Variety the villain he will be playing is Baron Wolfgang von Strucker. Not familiar with the character? Here’s a brief rundown,
Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, a former Nazi officer, was one of the leaders of Hydra and an enemy of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Avengers, and the interests of the United States of America and of the free world in general. He was physically augmented to be nearly ageless and was seemingly killed in the past to return to plague the world with schemes of world domination and genocide time and time again.
The other villain in the film is Ultron, who will be played by James Spader. For more information on who Baron Wolfgang von Strucker is click here. Production on the sequel starts next month, and it’s set to hit theaters on May 1st, 2015.
