Director Josh Trank has said the synopsis is false and that it’s not true.

“that synopsis is definitely not the synopsis or anything close to the synopsis. i don’t know who put that out. byyee.”

You can still read it if you want!

A new plot synopsis for the Josh Trank-directed reboot of Fantastic Four has been leaked thanks to a casting call. I’m not sure how happy fans are going to be with it though, as it looks like they changed the origin story of the classic superhero team. If you are looking for another reason to rant about the upcoming reboot, then this should give you some fuel.

“The Fantastic Four’ will tell the story of two very young friends, Reed Richards and Ben Grimm. After an event transforms the boys, they find themselves empowered with bizarre new abilities. Reed becomes a scientific genius who can stretch, twist and re-shape his body to inhuman proportions. Ben becomes a monstrous, craggy humanoid with orange, rock-like skin and super strength. However, the two end up being owned by the government and used as weapons. But after they mature, two others with powers come into the picture – Sue Storm “The Invisible Girl” and Johnny Storm “The Human Torch.”

This is very different from any origin story I’ve ever seen for the Fantastic Four. There’s a chance that this may not be what we see in the final product, but it will be really interesting if it is. I definitely wasn’t expecting to see this from the movie. That could be a good thing, or it could be bad. I guess we’ll just have to see how it turns out.

As far as the casting and where it currently stands, Michael B. Jordan will be playing Johnny Storm. Miles Teller, Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington, and Richard Madden are up for Reed Richards. Kate Mara and Saoirse Ronan are in the running for Sue Storm.

Apparently, production of the film is supposed to start in a few weeks, so we can expect some official casting announcements in the near future.

The movie is scheduled to be released June 19th, 2015.

BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN: Details on Batman’s Second Suit

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52e2b4dbe4b05158ff445e60/1390589152211/?format=750w

If you’ve paid attention to the words Kevin Smith has used to describe the Batsuit that director Zack Snyder showed him, you probably have some sense of the general color scheme Ben Affleck will be wearing as the Caped Crusader in Batman Vs. Superman. Smith called the version he saw Affleck modeling “a very familiar Batman,” but that it “didn’t look like any of the cinematic Batmans that have ever gone before.” He also added that it’s “the suit you all wanted to see.” Reading between the lines, you can guess that this is either a grey/black or grey/blue suit that we’ve grown up seeing in the comics, but never on the big screen.

Our friends at Latino-Review have a possible description of not one, but TWO suits that Affleck will wear in the film. Marvelous Dave had this to say earlier this week:

“The more interesting thing I’ve heard is that Batman will actually wear 2 batsuits in the film, but where as Grey-and-Blue has already been designed and Affleck has worn it, the second Batsuit is more armored like the one in the Dark Knight Returns and Kingdom Come comics.”

As stated above, the primary suit will likely be (barring some last minute change) grey-and-blue. As far as the armor goes, El Mayimbe revealed more details on that suit yesterday. He prefaces the info by saying “because of the ultra secretive nature surrounding the movie, it’s insanely difficult to confirm the following so take with a grain of salt.” You’ve been warned, so take the info as it is.

“According to the source, the plating is silver/white. The plates are attached to a black undercloth. The plates doesn’t cover his entire body. We see the black undercloth at the joints. Supposedly, it looks incredible. Equally, or maybe even better-looking than the other suit and it’s leagues above and beyond Bale’s suit from what I’m told.”

Again, this is early info so the suit/suits are subject to change. With the rumor being that Warner Bros. pushed the release date of the film back to 2016 in order to shoot the film back to back with Justice League, it’s a definite possibility that the suits could go through changes to better fit with other characters that will be introduced in both films.

Mark Ruffalo Wants an Eco-Friendly HULK Movie

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52dccb6ae4b047cdd887eef3/1390201708437/?format=750w

I’m sure one day Marvel will get around to making another Hulk film, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen any time soon. Maybe not until Phase Four or even Five. In a recent interview with Total Film, Mark Ruffalo was asked about the possibility of a standalone Hulk movie, and if it happens he would like to see an eco-friendly type movie. Here’s what he said,

“As artists we have an ability to reach a lot of people in a deep way, and we have a responsibility. What we have to do as storytellers is to take science and make it relatable. I think we have to tell the story of the positive and what we’re going to try to do. Give them alternatives but don’t make it a polemic.

“I’m in The Avengers, but if you took my screentime it would come to about ten minutes, along with the 12 other people I’m sharing the screen with, so my input’s kind of limited on that. But if we get to a standalone Hulk movie, I’ll have a much better chance to do that. I’m just learning now how to find my voice and bring it into the studio world.”

The next time we see the Hulk will be in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is set to be released on May 1st, 2015. Personally, I’d love to see a live action version of Planet Hulk, but that may never happen. What other Hulk storylines would you like to see brought to the big screen?

Mark Ruffalo Comments on Avengers: Age of Ultron Script

Though he’s campaigning for his own solo film, the next time we get to see Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk will be in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Speaking with MTV, Mark Ruffalo was asked about the script for the highly anticipated sequel and said: “I would say that it’s better, it’s cooler, it’s more awesomer. It’s a little bit darker, but also really has Joss Whedon’s incredible witty and sly sense of humor.”

Ruffalo also added that Banner “gets to do such great stuff” in the sequel. Check out the full video below.

What are you hoping to see the Hulk do in the upcoming sequel? Sound off below. Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.

Marvel Is Bringing Deathlok to AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

https://i1.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52e20250e4b03586404b7173/1390543441593/desthlockshield.jpg?resize=266%2C396

Marvel has announced that the character Deathlok is coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This is the first time the character will brought to life in a live-action project. J. August Richards, who appeared in the pilot and subsequent episodes as Mike Peterson, will now become Deathlok, and these are the details that they give us,

“Transformed into the cybernetic solider against his will, Mike Peterson (Richards) must struggle to find the man in the machine. With a high-tech eye that allows him to see through walls, super strength and increased speed courtesy of a cybernetic leg, will Deathlok fight alongside the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or against them?”

Executive Producer Jeffrey Bell had this to say in a statement,

“We have been waiting all season for this moment where we can reveal that Mike Peterson’s story arc is an origin story. We’re thrilled to have J. August Richards playing Deathlok and to have our audience enjoy this favorite Marvel character on the show.”

Richards added,

“If you would have asked when I was nine-years old what I wanted to be, I would have said a super hero and I’m so excited to be one now as an adult on TV! It’s a dream come true.”

Marvel and ABC are sure doing everything they can to keep audiences hooked on the show, and I’m going to keep watching!

Kevin Smith has more to Say About Ben Affleck’s Batman Suit

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52df1ae2e4b0421121352e82/1390353124783/?format=750w

Just yesterday Jennifer Garner talked to Entertainment Weekly and was asked about the Batman suit her husband Ben Affleck will be wearing in the upcoming film Batman Vs. Superman. She said, ”I’ve seen the suit. The suit is unbelievably cool. It’s a total reinvention. It looks great.” It’s not much, but she obviously seems to like it. Prior to that, Kevin Smith revealed that he saw the suit as well and gushed about his excitement for it, saying,

“You have not seen this costume in a movie, on film before. For a comic book fan, it was mind-bending… Because every other movie has done this Matrix-y black armor thing… There wasn’t a single nipple on this fucking suit man… I think everyone is just gonna be like ‘Holy Shit!’ It’s its own thing, man. We haven’t been down this path before.”

Smith is back with another statement about the suit design that he saw. While talking to Comic Book Therapy, the writer and director said that they gave fans the suit “they always wanted to see.” Here’s the full quote,

“I talked about it on Hollywood Babble-On, but I have seen the suit. I did this Man Of Steel Yahoo, fan event when the DVD came out. I was hosting Zack Snyder was there, Amy Adams, we had Henry Cavill from satellite over in the UK, and you know it was all about Man of Steel. And at one point Zack talked a little bit about the future and Batman Vs Superman, but when the show was all done, Zack was all like ‘Kev come here, come here’, and he takes me over to the corner and whips out his phone, and he shows me a picture of Batman. Live action version of Batman. A very familiar Batman, I might add. It didn’t look like any of the cinematic Batmans that have ever gone before. He shows me that picture and behind Batman…Superman in the suit looming in the distance. Both on a roof top kind of thing. It was on a set, a little set the put together for this photo shoot. So I was like ‘Oh my god! Is that the suit?! The suit looks amazing! Did you get people to model it?’ And he goes, ‘That’s your boy.’ And I look closely and it’s Ben Affleck wearing the suit. The suit, it is not mine to spill, in terms of what it looks like, you’ll see it. They’ll tell you when they want you to know, but any Batman fan is going to be F—ing pleased. I’m going to tell you that right now. They gave you the suit you all wanted to see.”

I seriously can’t wait to see the suit design for myself. I’ve got high expectations, and I’m expecting to be blown away by its awesomeness. One day the suit will be revealed to the world. In the meantime, all we have is the word of people who are lucky enough to have already seen it.

Marvel’s ANT-MAN Release Date Moved Up

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52e1c266e4b06a94c0cd449d/1390527082046/?format=750w

Marvel has announced that the release of Edgar Wright‘s Ant-Man will be moved up from July 31st, 2015 to July 17th, 2015, moving into the spot where Zack Snyder‘s Batman Vs. Superman used to be. It might only be two weeks earlier, but that’s two weeks that we don’t have to wait to see it.

The casting for the film has been pretty incredible so far with Paul Rudd paying Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Michael Douglas taking on the role of Hank Pym. There are also rumors that say Clifton Collins Jr. and Michael Pena are in talks to join the film production as well.

Marvel starts production on the highly-anticipated superhero film later this year!

BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Spoilerish Story Rumors Surface

https://i0.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52df1599e4b08544727c0368/1390351771875/batman-vs-superman-spoilerish-story-rumors-surface.jpg?resize=296%2C356

Are any of you hungry for some possible spoiler-filled information for Zack Snyder‘s Batman Vs. Superman? If you are, today is your luck day. If not, then I suggest you don’t read ahead because if any of these story points are true, they are big spoilers.

The following information comes from a message board for “a nexus of hardcore gamers, enthusiast press, and video game industry developers and publishers” called NeoGaf. The poster goes by the name James Woods, and you need to take this information with a grain of salt, because it could all be bullshit.

The guy who posted the following information says, “My source is someone from the art department that supposedly got shitcanned (apparently a bunch of them were fired). I confirm nothing. Just passing along what I heard. Take it with the proper amount of salt.”

Thanks to Latino-Review for the heads up on the following information. One last time: SPOILERS or Bullshit SPOILERS… you decide.

  • The villians are Lex Luthor and Metallo
  • Batman forms a UN type deal to stop Superman from destroying another city
  • Aquaman is in it, but not called Aquaman. He’s there because the world engine in the ocean did something to the fish
  • Wonder woman poses as a Wayne Enterprises investor to retrieve an item that belongs to her people.
  • Lex Luthor is in the shadows a lot, a manipulator. Not much face time with Superman.
  • Robin betrayed Batman at some point, leading to a falling out between them
  • The Batcave was super cool looking, and the mobile looked similar to Burton’s
  • Lois is investigating Lex.
  • Metallo “kills” Clark
  • The Daily Planet is bought by Lex Luthor for PR purposes
  • At the end Superman is living in exile, and the Justice League is a government approved superhero team.

Whatever the movie ends up being, I’m still looking forward to it! This information might also come from an early draft of the script that has since been changed.

The movie comes out on May 16th, 2016. We’ve sure got a long way to go. Hopefully the wait is worth it.

Michael Rooker on His Character in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52dff2e4e4b046834a6ad7c5/1390408428084/?format=750wto Unrendered in which he discussed his character, Yondu, in Guardians of the Galaxy, what fans can expect from the film, and his thoughts on working with director James Gunn again. There’s no doubt that Rooker is going to bring awesome badassery to the character he’s playing. We’ve seen a few photos from the set, and he definitely looks great. When asked about the part, he had this to say,

“As you can see from some of the photos out there, I’m not in a loincloth. I don’t have a major, major fin thing that goes down my back. We haven’t visually gone with the way that Yondu was in the comics.”

As for what we can expect to see in the movie, he says,

“Lovely, beautiful colors. What do you expect? It is a superhero movie. And I hope that you see it, and you’re going to be going ‘I’m going to see this again.’ That’s what I hope.”

Rooker goes on to talk about the director, whom he previously worked with on the horror comedy Slither,

“It was a beautiful shoot. James Gunn was an awesome, awesome director to work with again. I’ve worked with him before in the past, and it was great to get to do it again.”

When asked about what attracts him to James Gunn as an artist, he replied,

“It’s what attracts him to me, not what attracts me to him. You’ve got the wrong question there. [Laughing] We get along well. We’ve been good friends since our first film. He allows me to do my thing, and he has great comments. Very good director…when you’re lost in the woods, he can direct you.”

I think this movie was perfectly cast, and not only is it going to be fun seeing Rooker in his role, but it’s also going to be amazing seeing the rest of the cast, which includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Vin Diesel as Groot, John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, and Karen Gillan as Nebula. The movie comes out on August 1st, 2015!
