Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara Could Return For THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER’S WEB

Last week, word came out that producers Amy Pascal and Scott Rudin are developing a sequel to David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, but neither Fincher, nor stars Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara would be back to reprise their roles. Ex Machina and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. star Alicia Vikander’s name was brought up as a potential replacement in the role of Lisbeth Salander, but Mara has since stated that “As far as I know I’m doing it until someone tells me otherwise.” So there appears to be some confusion going on behind the scenes. Remakes of ACE VENTURA, THE EXORCIST, and MAJOR LEAGUE are on the way

Morgan Creek Productions has put its library of 78 films up for sale, and if the deal goes through with a potential buyer, the production company is set to retain the remake rights to Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Major League, The Exorcist, Young Guns, and Flying Tigers.

I’m sure you can see where this is heading. Morgan Creek’s CEO told Deadline that they’re selling the rights to the library in order to make money to fund more movies, but it seems like at least some of those movies will be remakes of Ace Ventura, The Exorcist, and Major League; of the five available options, those are the three currently in development there.

Puppet Master 11 In The Works

22096

In further horror news, in addition to earlier learning a third Jeepers Creepers flick is in development, now it’s become known the 11th Puppet Master film is in the works.

Writer and director Charles Band let the news be known about the next Puppet Master, titled “Axis Of Termination,” on a vidcast (see below).

“The last think I am going to let you know, since there are a lot of Puppet Master fans out there,” Band offered. “I think we are going to make – I hope at least – is attempt to make our best Puppet Master ever. It’s the very next film we are shooting after Killjoy’s Psycho Circus and Evil Bong: High 5. So we are going to shoot it either January or February. It’s call Puppet Master: Axis Termination. It’s the end of the Axis series. We had Axis of Evil and Axis Rising. This sort of ends that trilogy. It’s a very edgy, very hard script. It’s a departure. It’s much more like Puppet Master 3. That kind of vibe. That kind of blood. I think it’s going to be a real good one. We have a lot of good feedback from fans over the last few years about our last two Puppet Master films, and I think the script is going to be terrific, and we’ll deliver one that you guys will like.”

Puppet Master first appeared back in 1989 featuring the now classic anthropomorphic puppets, Blade, Pinhead, Jester, Tunneler, Leech Woman, Gengie, Shreddar Khan and lots more, brought to life through an Egyptian spell. In addition to the movies, there are Puppet Master comic books and figurines. Continue reading

Winona Ryder Gives Update on Her Involvement With BEETLEJUICE 2

I’m very curious to see what director Tim Burton is planning for Beetlejuice 2. It’s a sequel that doesn’t need to happen, but it’s one that I would be interested in seeing, especially if it means we get to see where the characters are in their lives all these years after the events in the first film. Continue reading
