Matt Damon Coming Back for BOURNE 5

It was reported earlier this week that Universal Pictures pushed the release date of director Justin Lin‘s Bourne 5 to July 15th, 2016. According to the initial report from THR, “the move was made so that the August 2014 date could be used for Straight Outta Compton, the upcoming film about the rise and fall of gangsta rap pioneers N.W.A.”

Latino Review now has some intel that claims that report was given to throw people off what was really going on. A source very close to the production is telling the site that the real reason for the delay is because Matt Damon is coming back to reprise his role as Jason Bourne! How freakin’ awesome is that!? This is a complete surprise, as Damon has said several times that he would only do it if Paul Greengrass was going to direct. This is one of the statements he made:

“I’ve always been open to it if Paul Greengrass is the director. We’ve just never been able to come up with a story. So if any of your viewers have a story, please call Universal and submit it. It felt like such a good way to end it the last time… But having said that, I love that character and I’d love to see what happened to him.”

Apparently Lin, who is the director of the the Fast and Furious films, was able to talk him into coming back to the franchise. I’m so happy that he did, and I’m ecstatic that Damon may have actually had a change of heart.

This rumor is sure to be denied by studio reps, but El Mayimbe from Latino-Review says,

“Now with all due respect to Bourne’s legendary producer Frank Marshall who is vocal and active on twitter, especially when it comes to debunking scoops, instead of denying my story I have a proposition. I’m willing to put my money where my mouth is and place a friendly bet with him that come July 15, 2016 we will see Matt Damon as Jason Bourne once again… I believe a source who never had a reason to bullshit me over the studio publicity machine any day of the week.”

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS, I know that the last movie just wasnt a  bourne movie without him,  i know  i would like to see him return!

JURASSIC PARK Before and After Visual Effects effects for the movie

Its great to see how  the effects are still great and  hold up after time for this movie.  its still entertaining after all these years and  the  effects still look great from the day they were  first introduced

Industrial Light and Magic is the team that amazingly brought the dinosaurs to life on the big screen. We have a fascinating featurette that you need to watch that focuses on bringing the live-action elements together with the VFX elements. It’s really cool to get a before and after look at all the movie magic that had to happen to bring this classic film to life for us.

Here’s a little trivia that gives some backstory on what Steven Spielberg needed to do to make this movie work.

Steven Spielberg didn’t want people to be constantly reminded that what they’re seeing is CGI, but real, full-blooded dinosaurs, starting with the Brachiosaur scene, where Spielberg was keen on the dinosaur interacting with the background, and would offer suggestions to the animators on how to make it better. The second scene done in that same vein was the Gallimimus scene, which made use of 25 animated individual Gallimimuses. Geometric shapes represented them initially and were choreographed onto the scene. Spielberg needed complete freedom to convey the energy of the scene, so worked with Dennis Muren to shoot it, because he wanted to move the camera and not lock it down everytime a Gallimimus came into frame. The scene was shot gradually with Sam Neill, Joseph Mazzello and Ariana Richards running through a field by themselves. A grid was placed over the ground as a frame to chart the movement of the camera by computer, using what looked like golf balls whenever an actor looked somewhere. The dinosaurs were than added later.

The T-Rex chasing the Jeep was the most difficult scene to animate. Steve ‘Spaz’ Williams had to do research because there’s no frame of reference for a running animal of that size; it took two months to figure out how to get it to run, for instance. He would run the sequence backwards to see all the mistakes. They were also able to use the computer to add little details to authenticate the scene, e.g. the T-Rex running through puddles of water and leaving splashes, etc. The splashing was filmed individually and then the computer added it to the T-Rex’s footsteps.

G.I. JOE Director Jon Chu to Direct NOW YOU SEE ME 2

G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M Chu is already done shooting his Jem and the Holograms adaptation, and now it looks like he’s ready to take on the world of magic. According to The Wrap he is the frontrunner to helm Now You See Me 2 for Summit Entertainment.

The first film was directed by Louis Leterrier, and regardless of how ridiculous it was I really had a great time watching it. I was hoping that we’d get a sequel, so it’s good to see that it’s moving forward. The movie made more than $350 million worldwide.

The first movie follows an FBI agent and an Interpol detective as they track a team of illusionists (The Four Horsemen) who pull off bank heists during their performances and give their audiences the money.

Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Mark Ruffalo are all expected to return. I don’t see how they could make it without them. It will be fun to see where they take the story and get some more insight into the underground magician society they were brought into.

Tarantino Teases Extended DJANGO UNCHAINED Miniseries

https://i0.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5380e909e4b0b3690d3d3a46/1400957195663/djangounchainedposter.jpeg?resize=330%2C467

Quentin Tarantino is one of my all time favorite directors. Everything he makes blows me away! So when I heard that he is thinking about making a Django Unchained miniseries, it caught my attention. Tarantino brought up the idea of the miniseries at the Cannes Film Festival, saying,

“It would use all the material that I have and it wouldn’t be an endurance test. It would be a miniseries. And people love those! It’s funny. You present someone with a four-hour movie and they roll their eyes. They go, ‘I don’t want to watch that!’ But you show them a four-part miniseries that they like and they’re dying to watch all four episodes in a row.”

I am one of those people who would watch it all in one go. Django Unchained is such a great movie and getting to go deeper into that world is very appealing. 90 extra minutes can cover a lot of ground. I wonder what new stories will be told? Will we see Django and Broomhilda running away for the first time instead of just the aftermath? I’m hoping to see more of Christoph Waltz as Dr. King Schultz and learn more about his character!

Tarantino was also willing to disclose some tidbits about The Hateful Eight.

“I’m in no hurry. Maybe I’ll shoot it. Maybe I’ll publish it. Maybe I’ll do it on the stage. Maybe I’ll do all three.”

After what happened with the script being leaked, I can understand his hesitation.

“I have calmed down a bit from the knife in the back. The wound is starting to scab.”

what are your thoughts on this,  we want to know!

JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis Join FILM!

Chu‘s live-action feature adaptation of the classic 1980s cartoon series Jem and the Holograms.

The join the previously cast Aubrey Peeples, Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau, and Hayley Kiyoko, who are set to play Jem and her bandmates the Holograms. Ryan Guzman has also been cast in the film, and he will play the love interest, Rio. We don’t know who Lewis or Ringwald will be playing in the film yet. They seem like they would make a great fit in this world though.

According to THR, the film is being described as “a modern take on the mysterious pop star and will follow the band through Los Angeles on a music-driven adventure.”

Expendables 3 gets a pg-13 rating!

The Expendables 3 Cast

Unlike its predecessors, The Expendables 3 has received a PG-13 rating from the MPAA.

Sylvester Stallone confirmed the rating during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival.

“We want to reach as many people as possible,” Stallone said. “It’s very close to an R, believe me, it’s right there. But I think we owe it to the next generation. We thought we’d join that club for a while.”

So in other words, they want to reach the next generation’s wallets.

This may also be due to The Expendables 2 grossing over $85 million domestically which is $18 million less than the the first Expendables which grossed over $103 million domestically.

Maybe a PG-13 rating and the youth will help boost ticket sales.

We all know rated R movies don’t perform as well as they use to causing many films to purposely tame their content… although most PG-13 films are just as violent as an R film just without the blood splatter and swearing.

Are you disappointed in the PG-13 rating?  I think its going to bite him in the ass!  You can’t have a movie like this and  dumb down the violence.  this is a  violent film!  thats like  taking a musical and  take the music out of it!  I see a  sad day for this  film and the  films to follow  unless Stallone changes his  tune!  What are your thoughts?

Harry Potter Spinoff Movie FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM, a release date

release-date-for-harry-potter-spinoff-movie-fantastic-beasts-and-where-to-find-them

Warner Bros. has set a release date for their Harry Potter spinoff film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. According to Exhibitor Relations, that date is November 18th, 2016.

The story takes place a number of years before the events of the Harry Potter books and films. It is loosely based on a book that J.K. Rowling wrote for charity. The film will tell an original story, and with it, Rowling will be making her screenwriting debut.

The book is a reproduction of a textbook owned by Harry Potter that was mentioned in the first Potter novel. The fictional textbook was written by a fictional magizoologist character named Newt Scamander. For those of you who aren’t up to speed on the Potter universe, Magizoology is the study of magical creatures.

It was previously reported that this story will be turned into a trilogy of films. While talking about the story Rowling said,

“Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for 17 years, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, 70 years before Harry’s gets underway.”

What are your thoughts?  I am not a huge harry potter fan  but i know there are many that are!

Kick-Ass 3?

aaron-taylor-johnson-isnt-ruling-out-kick-ass-3

During a press conference for Godzilla, actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson was asked about possibly returning for a third Kick-Ass film. He may not be contractually obligated to star in Kick-Ass 3, but he’s open to it if it happens. His co-star Bryan Cranston also chimed in and jokes about wanting to see Kick-Ass VS. Godzilla, which is something I think we’d all love to see! Continue reading

Chilling Trailer for DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

full-trailer-for-dawn-of-the-planet-of-the-apes

It’s finally here! 20th Century Fox has released the full length trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and it looks incredible. This is going to be such an intense film. There’s some moments in the trailer that might send some chills down your spine, especially with Caesar and his ape army. It seems like director Matt Reeves made a great sequel, and I’m excited about seeing it!

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth¹s dominant species.
