I’ve got some awesome news for all you Star Wars: The Clone Wars fans out there! Director and producer Dave Filoni has announced that the final episodes of the series will air in early 2014! Here’s what he posted on his Facebook page,

Star Wars fans – I have some exciting news! We have wrapped production on all of the remaining Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes, and while that might be sad news in one way, it’s good news in another. It means you will finally get to see them. When, exactly, is a detail I cannot yet share. I can confirm that in early 2014 you will be watching the final episodes of The Clone Wars, including one of Master Yoda’s most challenging missions. So, get ready. We’ve got Clone Wars and Rebels coming at you in 2014. Animated Star Wars is alive and well. Trust in the Force my friends.”

There’s no word on whether the episodes will air on Cartoon Network or Disney XD, but at least we know they are coming. The series will be replaced by Disney and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Rebels, and I’m excited to see what that new series delivers!

The series is set between the events of Episode III and IV — an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. It takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.

That series is set to premiere in the fall of 2014.

some fun Star Wars: Episode VII news for you today! Our friends at Latino Review have revealed two titles currently being considered for Star Wars: Episode VII. Those titles are Return of the Sith and Rise of the Jedi. According to the site, the two “working titles were turned over to the Disney Company through the sale, BUT, there is no guarantee whatsoever that Disney will use these titles for the movie.”

Out of those two choices, I would hope they use Rise of the Jedi. It makes more sense and has a nice ring to it. The site also reminds us that Yoda told Luke to pass on what he had learned in Return of the Jedi, which means there should be more Jedi if Luke actually listened to Yoda. The universe will need Jedi when the Sith return.

Three episodes in and the word is out. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.   is a widespread “meh” for most people I talk to. With viewership taking a nosedive after the premiere episode, it seems the team has found their stride in viewership, and according to some analysts will likely get picked up for a second season. That being said, there’s still the peanut gallery and their complaints. I’ve heard a lot, and I have a few myself along with some suggestions that, in my opinion, would make the show exponentially better in the second season.

5. Tone Down The Score. 

This is perhaps the thing that most annoys me about the show, but it’s the easiest fix. There is a constant score within the show. Most the time you realize it because it’s much louder than it should be. Sometimes it kills a Coulson joke, other times it’s just plain distracting. I realize the score is good. Maybe I’d buy the album if they didn’t live stream it over the top of the show.

4.  We Know You’re In Bed With Disney. You Can Stop Telling Us.

I feel like there is some unspoken quota in which every Disney series is required to subtly work Star Wars and Marvel into its script, and Marvel must do the same in this show. Why else would a brilliant scientist name his flying robots after the seven dwarfs? Seriously, it’s more cringey than hearing the Stan from Dog With A Blog say, “May the force be with you.”

3. Make The Team A Bit More Diverse Or Change Their Personalities.

In terms of characters, Agent Coulson is about the only person I really feel a connection with. Jemma and Leo (the scientists) really are the same person written for the sole purpose of them hooking up at some point I would guess, and the same could be said for Grant and Melinda   . I’m three episodes in and I had to look up their names! I usually identify them as Science guy with the accent, the science girl, the Asian pilot, and the black haired guy…oh yeah, and Skye. I remember Skye’s name! Why? Because she’s the so desperate to fit in for approval with the squad I’ll show you guys I’m not useless, and I hate the way they are writing her character right now. She’s good at hacking! Just leave it at that and stop making her so bubbly. Really wouldn’t mind some character development in future episodes.

2. Nick Fury Doesn’t Need To Appear…

It was kind of cool to see Samuel L. Jackson in episode 2, but you have to imagine the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. has a lot better things to do than fly down and ream Agent Coulson about a hole in a plane when considerable parts of New York were decimated. It was a shameless ploy to draw interest into the show and not well executed at that. I had no idea it even happened until I went into work the next day as I had flipped the channel when the show seemed over! This isn’t a movie! You can’t expect me to stay post credits!

 1. Enough With The ’80s Success Sequence Of The Team.

Why do we need to see the smile on everyone’s face when the conflict is resolved? Did I really need to see Coulson’s awkward smile nod to Grant (had to look it up in post) after the head shot? The thumbs up was complete cheese as well. I wrote it off as silly pilot antics at first, but then it happened again…and again. Guys, for the love of Odin (see?! because I’m writing about Marvel), please end this if nothing else. It’s so unnecessary, and it makes me feel like I’m watching The A Team.

All that being said, I still love the action, Coulson’s antics, and the general direction they are taking the show. I just want to see it perform better and have more people to talk about it with. Fix these things Marvel, and I think you’ll see a third season.

A few years ago the animation studio Imagi was developing a CG animated feature film version of the 1972 Japanese animated series, Gatchaman. Imagi went under, and the project was unfortunately scrapped, but before it was they managed to create a really cool, action packed demo that shows us what we could have expected from the movie, and it looks like it would have been pretty radical.

The original Gatchaman story revolves around five young superhero ninjas engaged by the International Science Organization to oppose a group of technologically advanced villains, known as Galactor, from trying to take control of the Earth’s natural resources. To do so, the ninjas battle various giant monsters deployed by Galactor to capture rare resources.

It’s pretty sad to think we’ll probably never see this movie happen, but it looks like they were headed in a good direction with it.

Check out this amazing  Robocop cosplay out fit made completely out of cardboard! Apparently the costume was present at Dragon-Con and Comic-Con 2013. It was designed and built by Tyson and CBG19, and it’s quite impressive.

I actually hasd the  same  idea  a few years back,  never thought  how  acatually  it  would  come together or  take  the time map out the  whiole  suit  but this  girl  with her  friends were able to do it!  So congrates to them  🙂

It surprised many last year not only when Disney purchased Lucasfilm, but when they announced that a fresh new trilogy of Star Wars films, as well as standalone movies, would be following. Apparently these movies were already in the cards as George Lucas’s son, Jett, revealed in an interview with Flicks and the City (via Mashable).

“We knew probably a year prior (to the purchase) he had started writing and king of researching, starting his whole little process,” Lucas said about his father. “About half way through that process was when the idea of selling to Disney came up…It’s nice because he’s happiest when he’s writing and doing something with his time.” 

He also mentioned Lucas was very torn on working on the film and letting it go, comparing him to a parent sending their kid off to college. “I knew that he was very torn on the matter, he was like a kid who had turned 18 and was ready to leave the house. Every parent has wanted to let their children go but they want to hold on to you.”

When asked what he thinks will happen in the new trilogy, Lucas boasted “I already know what happens. I’m happy with what’s going to happen.”

Lucas also revealed that, contrary to previous reports on the matter, George has been “constantly talking” to director J.J. Abrams about the new film.

Set to feature a script by Michael Arndt, Star Wars: Episode VII is rumored to focus on a new generation of heroes and could feature appearances by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in older incarnations of their beloved characters from the original Star Wars trilogy

Thanks to the success of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., ABC is getting more serious about bringing the long awaited Star Wars TV series to life. The original series being developed was called Star Wars: Underworld. It was described in previous interviews as a dark gangster drama like The Godfather, as Deadwood in space with mob bosses and bounty hunters, and as “The Empire Strikes Back on steroids.” Unfortunately, that dark and brooding tone might not be the version we see.

According to Blue Sky Disney, “it might not be the dark brooding adventure that was described. There is talk going on, but nothing definite yet as to what a new series could entail. In fact, it may not even happen in the time it was originally set. Again, preliminary talks are still going on so many things could change but right now there’s a debate as to whether or not a television show would take place in between the Prequel Trilogy and the Original Trilogy, or should they go forward with a series that’s between the Original Trilogy and the Sequel Trilogy. This way they could play on the new mythos this new trilogy is creating.”

This change isn’t really surprising because of the fact that Disney will be developing the series. They will most likely keep it at a light, PG-13 level. The report goes on to say that, “the narratives being discussed right now go back between making a series out of the stories they originally got written which will be set at the dawn of the Empire, or creating a whole new set of adventures after the destruction of the Galactic Empire set at the dawn of the New Republic.”

There were already 50 completed one hour scripts ready to go. It would really be a shame and a waste of time and talent if those got trashed. I really hope they end up going with the series that was being developed, but it’s looking less and less likely.
