Hugh Jackman Unsure About Return as Wolverine

Even though he is already developing a third “Wolverine” film for 20th Century Fox, the man himself Hugh Jackman is seemingly once again having doubts about his return as the character. Speaking with Vanity Fair (via CBM), he said he was still on the fence about doing the next solo film.

“I don’t know whether or not I will do this next movie. I am really proud of (The Wolverine) and I am excited to develop something with Jim Mangold from the beginning because that is a great ride. That’s exciting, to see what we come up with but I have a very high expectation of what it would need to be [for me to star in it] and if it doesn’t reach those, I won’t be doing it.”

Earlier this year, Jackman revealed he’s not committed to any other future films in the “X-Men” franchise following next year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Though Jackman could always change his mind, as the actor was reportedly uninterested in “Days of Future Past” upon first learning about the project.

G.I. JOE 3 Writer on Script, Duke, and Inspiration

Screenwriter Evan Daugherty (Snow White and the Huntsman,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Divergent) is in the process of developing the script for G.I. Joe 3. I really wish they would just scrap what they’ve done for this movie franchise so far and start from scratch. The first movie sucked, the second was slightly better, but not much, and I imagine the third isn’t going to be good.

During an interview with Rama’s Screen the writer gives an update on where he’s at with writing the movie,

“I think they gotta keep me sworn to secrecy on this one. I gotta stay quiet because I’m literally in the middle of writing it. When you called, I was writing it. Sometime in the next few months, I would imagine.”

He goes on to talk about killing off Duke, and where he is drawing his inspiration on while working on the movie.

“Would I have killed off Duke? It’s hard to say, you never know what process that went through to make that film. I don’t know, it’s hard to say, because sometimes killing off a character might make for a dramatic story. What I’ll say for this new movie, what we’re trying to do- what I’m trying to do [as] a fan of the original cartoon in particular and the comic book as well; the comics are somewhat different than the cartoon. We’re just really trying to make a totally a great G.I. Joe movie which to me is about a lot of action but like a lot of fun with a sort of hint of sci-fi, an exciting world you’ve never been to, etc. I’m excited about what the next G.I. JOE Movie can be.”

Walt Disney Pictures Set to Distribute Future Indiana Jones Films

Although Walt Disney Pictures famously purchased Lucasfilm last year, the primary focus ever since has been the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII with only the faintest rumblings about the potential for another major Lucasfilm franchise, Indiana Jones. Now, Disney and Paramount Pictures have announced they have reached a marketing and distribution agreement for the franchise.

Under the arrangement, Disney gains marketing and distribution rights to future films, in addition to retaining its current ownership rights which it secured when it acquired Lucasfilm. Paramount will continue to be responsible for distribution of the first four films in the franchise and will receive a financial participation on any future films that are produced and released.

George Lucas had last discussed a potential fifth big screen outing for Henry Jones, Jr. back in 2011, suggesting that a story was already in place, but that the film was still in need of a MacGuffin.

A term popularized by Alfred Hitchcock, a MacGuffin refers to a narrative element that drives the story forward. The Indiana Jones series is famous for making the MacGuffin the object of Jones’ search. In Raiders of the Lost Ark it’s the Ark of the Convenant, in Temple of Doom it’s the Sankara Stones, in The Last Crusade it’s the Holy Grail and, most recently, in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, it’s the skull itself.

Although Disney will distribute any new entries in the franchise, Paramount retains the distribution rights to the first four films.

Regardless of what happens with either Star Wars: Episode VII or Indiana Jones 5, audiences won’t be without Ford on the big screen. He already starred earlier this year in 42, Paranoia and Ender’s Game and can soon be seen in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.

B.J. Novak on His Character in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

Earlier this year Marc Webb confirmed that B.J. Novak from The Office had joined the cast of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Since then, nothing has really been revealed about the character he plays.

In a recent interview with The Huffington Post, Novak teased his character a bit, saying,

“I’m in a couple of scenes. Yeah, I was never told whether or not I could say. I can say that I work at Oscorp. And I am someone from the comic books, someone from the original. So, yeah, I’m somebody. I wouldn’t say I’m pivotal, but I’m not an extra, either.”

Makes me wonder if he will eventually end up being one of the Sinister Six in the upcoming sequel planned. Maybe Doc Oc or the Vulture? Who knows, but I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough. Who do you think Novak is playing in the franchise?

The movie opens up in theaters on May 2nd, 2014, and judging from the trailer that was released yesterday, the movie is going to be awesome!

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Will Tease APOCALYPSE in Post-Credits Scene

Yesterday, Bryan Singer announced a new X-Men movie called X-Men: Apocalypse, which will be coming May 27th, 2016. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the movie introduce the villain Apocalypse. Thank’s to Firstshowing.net, we have some SPOILER filled information for you about X-Men: Days of Future Past and how it will tease the X-Men: Apocalypse sequel in the end credits sequence. They even provide details on how the scene plays out, so if you don’t want it spoiled for you, then don’t read ahead!

The site got confirmation from two different sources, and received a copy of one of the most recent drafts of the script for Days of Future Past. The source explained to them that “an existing X-Men character will become possessed by the villain who can project his consciousness and powers into host bodies.” This is some really exciting stuff for X-Men fans! Now do you want to know how the post-credits sequence plays out? If you’ve come this far, then of course you want to know! So here it is…

“However, the credits bumper jumps back to the past with a young Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) in a ramshackle house in the desert eating dinner, clearly on the run from all the authorities who want to bring him down. While using a well outside to get some water, the young Magneto sees something fall from the night sky and crash to Earth nearby. Upon inspecting the impact zone, he encounters what is described as an ‘alien form’ who is ‘towering, terrifying, with a twisted metal face and dark pits for eyes.’ It’s Apocalypse and he says, ‘I have crossed rivers of time to find you.’ Magneto asks, ‘Who are you?’

“The alien responds, ‘I am your future.’ Suddenly Apocalypse merges with Magneto, who screams and blasts an insane amount of energy and shockwaves around him. This energy explosion levels everything around him, with a blast radius that goes for miles. As Magneto looks at what he’s done, he has a realization of the power he now holds and a villainous grin begins to form before the film cuts to black.”

It’s safe to assume that many of the cast members from X-Men: Days of Future past will return for Apocalypse. Bleeding Cool reports that many of them will return, so it will be interesting to see how the story will bring the past and present X-Men together again.

I’m really looking forward to seeing what Singer is planning for his next movie, but I’m sure it will be awesome! Fox’s X-Men movie plans are kicking into high gear, and it’s exciting stuff!

New TERMINATOR TV Series Will Connect with New Films

There’s a new Terminator TV series going into development! Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures are not only teaming to bring us the new movies, they will also be developing the TV series as well.

Producers have hired Thor and X-Men: First Class writers Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller to write and executive produce a new series, which will be in conjunction with the new feature films being released.

According to THR, the TV series will follow “a critical moment from the first Terminator film (1984) and, where the film’s story goes one way, the upcoming series will take the same moment in a completely different direction. As the rebooted film trilogy and the new TV series progress, the two narratives will intersect with each other in some surprising and dramatic ways.”

This sounds like a pretty epic undertaking. Kind of like what Ron Howard wanted to do with the adaptation of Stephen King‘s The Dark Tower series.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, was the previous Terminator series, and I thought is was pretty good. I have high hopes for this Terminator franchise reboot. it has the potential to be incredibly epic. They seem like they are being very ambitious, so let’s hope it all pays off.

Professor X demands Storm use her powers not to fight Magneto but to assure he has a perfect golf game this weekend. If she doesn’t… she’s fired.

Spectacular Trailer for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2!

So, Sony Pictures released the new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and holy crap, it’s awesome! I’m still not sure what to think about all of these villains being crammed into one movie, but this trailer makes the film look pretty freakin’ spectacular. I’m very, very impressed, and I’m incredibly excited to see the movie! Make sure to pay attention when watching the trailer, because there are lots of little things that you don’t want to miss. The Sinister Six is definitely teased.

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). Keanu Reeves Gives Update on BILL & TED 3

I truly hope that one day this third Bill & Ted movie gets made. We’ve been hearing about it for years, and both Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are excited to do it. There’s already a script ready to go! So what’s the hold up on Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure Part 3? According to Reeves it’s the budget, and in a recent interview with Access Hollywood he explains,

“It needs to be adapted because right now, it would cost $400 million to make.”

Whoa! $400 million is a lot of freakin’ money! That would be the most expensive movie ever made! Not sure why it would need a budget that big, that seems pretty ridiculous. Reeves goes on to give us a little insight on what the plot of the film would entail, saying,

“There’s a rift in the universe and there’s all sorts of creatures.”

So maybe they are planning on a more intergalactic adventure this time around? Or maybe some kind of dimensional traveling? They haven’t given up on the film yet. They are still trying to get it made. Reeves shares his feelings on the third movie, saying,

“That would be surreal. The script is funny and there’s a story to tell there, so there are efforts being made to try and continue that journey.”
