Hugh Jackman Gives Update on WOLVERINE Sequel

hugh-jackman-gives-update-on-wolverine-sequel.jpg

It was recently announced that James Mangold is coming back to write and, most likely, direct Hugh Jackman in a sequel to The Wolverine. We really have no idea what to expect, but in a recent interview with EW, Jackman said that he basically revealed all that there is to reveal about it at the moment.

“I was on the phone with Jim Mangold last night. There are some really cool ideas that I’m dying to tell you, but that would be giving away a secret that is not even [fully] formed yet.”

He goes on to discuss how his Wolverine deal currently works with Fox,

“I started with a two-picture deal on the first two [X-Men films], and from that point on, it’s been movie by movie — not just me, but Fox and Jim and everyone. I do want to do it with Jim and with [producer] Lauren Shuler-Donner because we had such a great experience. I’m really proud of The Wolverine.”

Jackman then talks about what drives him to keeping playing Wolverine in the movies,

“I don’t want to dive into another one until we have a compelling reason to do another one. I love the character, he’s kind of like a best friend to me, and I don’t ever want to take [him] or the fans for granted. … I think we’ve got a great opportunity to make something really cool, but it has to be great. That’s what we’re all working toward.”

Big BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Movie Rumors – Possible Spoilers

960 × 482 – mtlblog.com

While Zack Snyder is developing his Batman Vs. Superman film, there’s a lot of speculation and rumors about what we will end up seeing in the film. We’ve got a few more rumors for you today regarding some additional characters we might see in the film and how Lex Luthor might be portrayed. There’s also some potential scene descriptions. None of this has been confirmed, but just in case, I’m going to throw out a big SPOILER alert!

So here are some points of interest thanks to CBM:

  • The Flash will be in the film, but he will not be in costume for the movie. He will only be seen as Barry Allen.
  • Wonder Woman will also not be seen wearing her costume in this film, and she will only be known as Diana.
  • Apparently WB wants Grant Gustin, who is playing the Flash in the upcoming CW series, to make a cameo as Barry Allen in the film, but that it all depends on how the audience reacts to him when he makes his debut on the small screen later this year.
  • As for Lex Luthor, Synder’s version won’t be focusing on real estate, like he has in the other Superman films. This time around Lex’s motivations will be rooted on his belief that Superman is not good for mankind. The Lex that you will see will resemble the character from Grant Morrison‘s All-Star Superman.
  • Lex is described as being “the pride of Metropolis. The people love him, he’s been helping out a lot. Even Lois thinks he’s a good guy initially. He is a very smart man and has a lot of charisma.”
  • Lex also likes to play around in “fringe” science, and apparently, in one scene Lex will ask his LexCorp scientists if they can recreate Kryptonian armor. Lex says to them, “When the world realizes what he truly is, they will need someone to stand up to him.” When one of scientists ask if he is that someone, Lex replies, “Is there any other person who can?”
  • As for Bruce Wayne’s love interest in the film, apparently WB is looking to cast an African-American actress for the part. Their inside source claims that “Ben Affleck will be reading with several actresses this very week to see if they have chemistry. This will be a committed relationship, not just a one night stand. It’s so serious that she will know Bruce’s superhero identity.”

So there it is! There’s some really interesting and cool stuff there, but let’s just wait and see how it all plays out. You never can tell what’s real or not, after all, this is the internet. If it does turn out to be true what do you think about the claims that are being made?

Elizabeth Olsen Confirms Scarlet Witch Role in Avengers: Age of Ultron

About a month ago, Samuel L. Jackson confirmed that Elizabeth Olson was playing Scarlet Witch in Joss Whedon‘s Avengers: Age of Ultron. In a recent interview with MTV, Olsen says that she doesn’t know much about the story yet. She does however discuss her character and talks about once again working with Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is playing Quicksilver. The two recently worked together on Godzilla, and here’s what she said,

“We get to play husband and wife, and we get to play twin brother and sister. It’s also fun because even though in Godzilla we play husband and wife, we don’t have a lot of scenes together. I just love him. I love his family. I love his kids. I’m so excited…to actually work with each other. I think it’s going to be fun.”

She goes on to talk about Whedon saying,

“He’s very smart. He’s too smart. He might be too smart. Some people are too smart for their own good, but he’s amazing.”

Olsen and Johnson are going to make a great team in the film, and I’m excited to see how Whedon plans on portraying these two characters.

Three New Photos From The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Revealed

Three new photos from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 have come in today via The Times of India. Check them out below!

Opening in theaters on May 2, 2014, the Marc Webb-directed sequel stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Chris Cooper, B.J. Novak and Sarah Gadon.

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Maria Hill Returning for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Coblie Smulders confirmed in a recent interview with the Calgary Herald that she would reprise her role as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill in Joss Whedon‘s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Here’s what she said,

“I think I’m in Avengers 2, but it is very top secret. I hope I’m in Avengers 2. I didn’t get my invitation yet. Well, actually, they know I’m in it but they don’t know to what degree I’m in it.

“I am really excited to read the script because they are introducing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch into the Avengers universe and the bad guy is going to be very interesting.”

That bad guy she’s talking about is, of course, Ultron, who is being played by James Spader. I actually like the Maria Hill character, and maybe next time around she’ll be given a bigger role with some more action.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released in theaters on May 1st, 2015. Production on the movie will begin in March 2014.

We’ve got a couple cool videos for all of you X-Men fans out there. The first one gives us an alternate ending to The Wolverine, and it features Logan getting a box that contains his classic looking Wolverine costume. I really would love to see Jackman in that thing! Maybe somewhere down the line we will. We already know that Fox is moving forward with another solo film.

Biggest. Marvel. News. Ever. Superheroes assemble!

Something huge just happened. Like an alignment of interplanetary forces, Internet distribution giant Netflix have teamed up with Disney’s Marvel to sign an extraordinary deal. Fans can expect several original series focussing on four of Marvel’s biggest hitters, to start 2015.
The epic super-program – working title Flawed Heroes of Hell’s Kitchen – will begin with Daredevil, seguing into Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, who all have interlinking stories in the original Marvel Canon.

Jewel (Jessica Jones)

Just to clarify: Marvel + Disney x Netflix = MEGA TV EVENT!
The multi-season mega-series will play out across years of epic Marvel action centred around Hell’s Kitchen, New York. Netflix signed on to four seasons of thirteen episodes as a minimum, which may develop into more if the show is popular. Hmmm, do you guys think that an epic, original Marvel TV show is going to be popular?

Alan Fine, Marvel’s President of Entertainment, certainly thinks so. Fine said of the project:
This deal is unparalleled in its scope and size, and reinforces our commitment to deliver Marvel’s brand, content and characters across all platforms of storytelling. Netflix offers an incredible platform for the kind of rich storytelling that is Marvel’s specialty.

This serialized epic expands the narrative possibilities of on-demand television and gives fans the flexibility to immerse themselves how and when they want in what’s sure to be a thrilling and engaging adventure.
Marvel Television (who have been owned by Disney since 2009) will produce the show with ABC Television studios, as original Netflix programming. Netflix, for their part, seem pretty pumped for the upcoming TV super-event. Chief Content Officer for Netflix, Ted Sarandos enthused:
Marvel’s movies, such as ‘Iron Man’ and Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’, are huge favorites on our service around the world. Like Disney, Marvel is a known and loved brand that travels. With ‘House of Cards’ and our other original series, we have pioneered new approaches to storytelling and to global distribution and we’re thrilled to be working with Disney and Marvel to take our brand of television to new levels with a creative project of this magnitude.

Iron Fist (Daniel Rand) and Power Man (Luke Cage)

The growing influence of Netflix as a cultural powerhouse is impossible to ignore, and this new deal will only bolster that reputation. Netflix also have further ties with Disney, having secured their position as exclusive U.S. TV subscription service for new releases from Walt Disney Studios and their subsidiaries (including Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm).
You guys, seriously, this could be a real game changer. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is already making waves on the airwaves, and Flawed Heroes of Hell’s Kitchen could just blow the lid right off. Soon everyone will be obsessed with superheroes?

Dick Grayson to Be Included in BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN?

Art by Artgerm

According to  Latino-Review have dropped pretty big scoop regarding Zack Snyder‘s highly anticipated Batman Vs. Superman film. Their source tells them that Dick Grayson, a.k.a. Robin/Nightwing, will be making an appearance in the film, and that the studio is looking for a young John Hawkes-type actor to play him, which is an interesting choice, but one that could prove to be awesome.

Latino-Review has some incredibly solid sources in the industry, but you can expect Snyder and his team to deny this news up and down. Just remember… the director also denied that Zod was going to be in Man of Steel for a very long time. So don’t expect him to confirm it anytime soon.

The video below will give you a few more details on the character and what we might expect. Treat it as a rumor for now, but if this bit of news does actually end up happening, what do you think of Grayson being a part of the universe Snyder is creating? Personally I think it makes sense, and there’s a good chance Snyder will actually make the character a badass for the big screen. It will definitely be interesting to see how exactly they’ll implement the character, if that’s what the plan is.

Batman vs. Superman was written by David Goyer and, as of right now, stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, and Laurence Fishburne. It’s set to open on July 17th, 2015.
