20th Century Fox has released a new behind the scenes photo from director Matt Reeves‘ Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The image features Toby Kebbell, who plays the ape character Koba, and according to Empire, “seems to be stirring the pot in the ape city, riproaring his way through a scene at the Ape Village. Guns, as this photo indicates, will play a crucial role on both sides of the ape/human chasm this time out.”

Hopefully we get another trailer soon that gives us a better look at what the story will entail. In the film, “a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.”

The movie is set to be released on July 11th. It also stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo, and Judy Greer.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed some new details about Alan Taylor‘s Terminator: Genesis. Some of those details address the issue of his age, explaining that there is an aging Terminator. He also says that the story includes several versions of his T-800, including a young one.

“‘Terminator’ deals a lot with time travel, so there will be a younger T-800, and then [there is] what that model does later on when it gets reprogrammed, and who gets ahold of him. So it will be all kinds of interesting twists in the movie.”

He then goes on to discuss the film’s solution to having his robot killing machine age,

“The way that the character is written, it’s a machine underneath. It’s this metal skeleton. But above that is human flesh. And the Terminator’s flesh ages, just like any other human being’s flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages.”

So they wrote themselves out of that corner. I guess it could make sense. I’m sure we’ll get a more detailed explanation of it in the movie. I like everything I’ve heard about the story for this movie so far, it’s got a great cast, and I hope that the director can pull off something awesome that the fans of the franchise will love.

Genesis is the first in a stand-alone trilogy, and will also star Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, and J.K. Simmons. The movie is set to be released in theaters on July 1, 2015.

Spider-Man star J.K. Simmons is in negotiations to join director Alan Taylor‘s Terminator: Genesis. According to THR, Simmons will play “a weary and alcoholic detective who has followed a bizarre case involving Sarah Connor and robots for more than three decades (since 1984, which, not coincidentally, is the year the original movie, directed by James Cameron, was released).”

If everything goes through, Simmons will join Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor, and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese. Arnold Schwarzenegger will of course be back to reprise his role as the Terminator. There’s still no word on whether he will be a good or bad Terminator in this one.

The reboot will weave together several ideas from the previous Terminator movies, and in the process give fans a fresh new story about Skynet’s uprising and its plan to wage war on mankind. To read some possibly spoiler filled story information on the movie click here.

Simmons is an amazing actor. I most recently saw him in a Sundance film called Whiplash, and he was insanely awesome in it! That’s going to be a movie you don’t want to miss. He’ll be awesome in Terminator: Genesis, too, probably.

NBC is almost ready to start production of their new series Constantine, which is based on the popular comic book. According to the series writer and producer, David Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel), production on the series starts this week. He also stated that the adaptation is going to follow the comic book more than the movie did and reveals a few other cool things that fans will be happy to hear. While talking to I Am Rouge he said,

“We only have four series regulars but we’ve cast them all now. I’m proud to say that Constantine is actually being played by a British guy. Matt Ryan and he is going to have blond hair.”

John Constantine is a notorious chain smoker, and when asked if he would partake in his old habits on the series, Goyer replied:

“That’s a tricky one on network TV. We’re negotiating right now. He will have his signature trench coat and skinny tie. I would say that the show clings more closely to the source material than the film did. Even though the film was interesting.”

Goyer then revealed that the series would be more in line with the Hellblazer version of the character, and that there are plans of bringing in more DC comics characters into the series if the network picks it up.

“Quite a few other characters from the comic books and possibly from the DC universe, should we move forward, will be showing up…..I think we would try to bring in some of the other occult figures.”

The series stars Matt Ryan as Constantine, Lucy Griffiths as Liv, Harold Perrineau as the angel Manny and Charles Halford as Constantine’s friend Chas. The pilot is set to be directed by The Descent and Game of Thrones director Neil Marshall. I think we can expect to see some awesomeness from this series.
