Director Zack Snyder has revealed Ben Affleck‘s Batsuit and the Batmobile that he will be driving around in. The suit looks amazing looks a bit like the dark knigth returns especially the symbol! The car is hard to tell but judging from the 2 pictures its looks like its going to be pretty cool. As for myself i have always been a fan of the tumbler.

The CW has confirmed today that they’ve picked up the “Arrow” spin-off “The Flash” and the Vertigo comic-based “iZombie” to series, with both set to air this fall. Check back next week for their scheduling as the network will be presenting their upfronts on Thursday, May 15.
“The Flash” arrives from co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg who, along with Geoff Johns, wrote the pilot episode which was helmed by “Arrow” pilot director David Nutter. Grant Gustin will star as the titular hero along with Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Iris’s father, Detective West, Michelle Harrison? as Barry’s mother Nora Allen and many others, including John Wesley Shipp, from the original “The Flash” TV series, in an unspecified role.
Based on the series created by Chris Roberson and Mike Allred, “iZombie” will be executive produced by “Veronica Mars” creator Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero and sees “Once Upon a Time” star Rose McIver in the lead role of Liv. In the series, Liv works in a coroner’s office, and in order to maintain her humanity she’ll be forced to dine on the brains of the deceased, but in doing so she will absorb their memories and use it to solve their murders, among other crimes.
The upcoming Batman prequel Gotham looks like it’s going to be an insanely good series. That first trailer that was released blew me away and got me incredibly excited to see it. In a recent interview with EW, Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller discussed the DC comics-based series, and he had some compelling things to say about the world they are creating.
“This is a world that’s going to become that familiar world of Batman, but it’s not there yet. It’s an embryo. A lot of the work was reverse engineering the story to look at what these characters were like when younger. Penguin, for instance, is not a powerful gang leader, he’s a gofer for a gangster. It’s about giving the world room to grow, but at the same time giving the fun and pleasure and drama of that heightened world. One of the great things about the Batman world is [the characters] have no super powers. Nobody flies or leaps over buildings. You start with psychology and that’s where we build from.”
He goes on to talk about preparing to develop the series, and the comic books that he read to get into the mindset,
“I read everything I could and then — I didn’t throw it away, but I started fresh. I would hate to pick a particular Batman iteration because I would be dismissing others. But for me, The Killing Joke was one of the great ones in the comic books. Obviously the [Frank] Miller version [The Dark Knight], as well.
When it comes to the visual style for the series, he seems confident in saying that he thinks it will be better than what was done in the previously released films. That’s a bold statement, but it could be true.
“I would say in terms of what [director and executive producer Danny Cannon and director of photography David Stockton] are doing — visually — Gotham will surpass the Batman movies. The movies are a very rigorous, kind of Germanic take on that world. They’re visually stunning, but not particularly visually pleasurable. I would say this is much more on the street level of Gotham. There’s more people, it’s a more colorful place, it’s a more vivid place, it’s more crowded. The inspiration for me and Danny was New York in the ’70s, because we both remember that as a seminal moment, coming to the city for the first time.”
He makes some great points, and I think they might actually be able to pull it off. Heller moves on to discuss the villains. Some of the villains that will be included in the show are Oswald Cobblepot, Selina Kyle, Edward Nigma, Poison Ivy, and more. I’m sure we’ll see even more villains introduced including The Joker, which he confirms here,
“Obviously, the Penguin, Riddler, young Catwoman, Alfred. Possibly Harvey Dent. Poison Ivy. Um … and then there will be others, but I hate to — I’m so used to doing a police procedural, so I’m used to telling, ‘Next week he’s going to go there.’ With this, it’s very much storytelling. So I would be remiss to tell you who will show up when. I will say we’re not going to skimp on giving people the characters they want and expect from Gotham. But when and how they’re going to show up is half the fun. Penguin is one of those guys that, as soon as you see him, you go, ‘Oh, that’s the Penguin.’ It would be hard to disguise him as somebody else.
When asked about The Joker he said:
He’s the crown jewel of the Batman villains. He will be brought in with great care and a lot of thought.”
I’m really looking forward to seeing what they do with the Joker. He’s one of the greatest comic villains ever, and it will be cool to see what they do with his backstory. When asked if he was concerned about the story being limited because it’s a prequel he replied,
“No. Because there’s lots of other people in the world, and one of the conceits of the show is, where did they get all their ideas? There’s precursors to that for the villains and the heroes. They got inspiration from other people, and it’s about how they got to that point in the world. It’s invigorating and expansive how many stories you can tell once you get away from the gravity of Batman.”
When talking about the characters Harvey Bullock and Jim Gordon he says,
“Harvey Bullock, for the comic book fans, he’s an iconic early Batman character. I always liked him just because he encapsulates the moral ambivalence and corrupt-but-fun quality of Gotham. He’s very much a Gotham figure. Gordon is a complicated figure, but he’s very much a good guy. He’s an old-fashioned American hero. So it’s important to pair him with someone who has a darker and funnier side, and someone who personifies that ambivalence of Gotham. And we got Donal Logue playing the character. As soon as we got him, I was able to write the character with much more edge and comedy and wisdom because Donal has all those things in spades. And frankly, I love double acts — buddies, whether it’s Laurel & Hardy or Starsky & Hutch or Holmes & Watson.”
It looks like they are going to make a great on-screen team. Heller confirms that the series will end with Bruce Wayne putting on the cowl and officially becoming Batman. He then says that it won’t happen for “six or seven years down the line. Hopefully.”

Earlier today, Fox announced that they were officially moving forward with Bruno Heller’s Gotham series. We heard that the trailer for the drama, which is set up as a prequel to the Batman era of Gotham City, might arrive tonight during the premiere of 24: Live Another Day and sure enough, Fox dropped that on us between the first and second hour. Not only does the Gotham trailer give us a look at James Gordon’s introduction to a young and very recently orphaned Bruce Wayne, but it also announced that the series will arrive this fall!
We see Gordon’s meeting with young Bruce Wayne. The trailer reveals the brutal murders of Bruce’s parents, which leave him orphaned but in the care of Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee).
There’s also a glimpse of Bruce standing at the edge of a building…
Ready to jump or ready to take flight? Or perhaps he’s conquering his fears. We also see young Selina Kyle a couple of times.

The dark tone of the series comes through as much in the imagery as it does in the ominous score of the trailer. There are also lines like “Sometimes I think this place is cursed” and talk about war. It’s offset by Gordon’s determination, as he promises Wayne he’ll find out who killed his parents. And later we hear him explaining to Bruce, “Fear doesn’t need conquering. Fear tells you where the edge is.” And then there’s “However dark and scary the world might be right now, there will be light. There will be light.” |
This weekend The Wall Street Journal dropped a bombshell on us when they revealed that director Zack Snyder would be stepping behind the camera for the long-rumored Justice League movie, which will follow the upcoming Batman vs. Superman. Now, in a piece on Warner Bros.’ attempts to cash in on their DC properties, the outlet reports that the company has nine additional films based on DC comics in development for the big screen.
Among those titles are the big screen adaptations of Sandman with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Fables with A Royal Affair director Nikolaj Arcel attached. What the remaining titles could be remains to be seen. Wonder Woman? Aquaman? Another attempt at Green Lantern? It seems unlikely, but perhaps the studio will announce something at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. What DC comics do you want to see on the big screen?
WB’s next DC-based film, Batman vs. Superman, is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.
A Justice League feature film is not only officially on track today, but has also announced a director. The Wall Street Journal reports that Man of Steel helmer Zack Snyder will make the ensemble blockbuster his followup to 2016’s Batman vs. Superman.
“It will be a further expansion of this universe,” Warner Bros. president of worldwide production Greg Silverman tells the outlet. “’Superman vs Batman’ will lead into ‘Justice League.’”
Although no Justice League cast is official at this stage, the project is likely to again star Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Ray Fisher as Cyborg (with a view other JLAers expected to be announced in the future).
The article also offers a slightly less optimistic update on the status of a Wonder Woman solo film, noting that, while the studio is open to the idea, they feel the right script has not yet been found.
The DC Comics character Cyborg is going to be in Batman Vs. Superman, and according to Variety Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder have cast Ray Fisher in the role. The reason you don’t recognize the name is because he’s mostly known for his theater roles including the Broadway play Fetch Clay, Make Man in which he played Muhammad Ali.
According to the report Cyborg, whose real name is Victor Stone, will have “a much more significant role as Warner and D.C. develop more films related to the Justice League universe, sources confirm.” The actor will join Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Jesse Eisenberg in the movie. There’s been some talk already hinting that Cyborg could be in the sequel. In a previous interview with Cavill he expressed his excitement in seeing the character introduced in the franchise.
“On the extras on the Blu-ray, we’re going to get the opportunity to see Zack’s references to other aspects of the DC Universe. There’s one obvious one which is now particularly obvious because of our next installment, which is involving Batman as well. We see Bruce Wayne Enterprises on the satellite in space. We also see some references to LexCorp. I actually have no further knowledge of this next story, but there’s a good chance Lex is going to be introduced soon or at some stage. What really intrigued me was Dr. Emil Hamilton’s connection to S.T.A.R. Labs. Cyborg I think would make a wonderful character and an incredible bridge between both superhumans and humanity in a different way toBatman. So I don’t know where he’s going to come in or if he’s going to come in, but that’s one I’m particularly excited about. Other references I’m not too sure on, but we’ll see where those lead. Those with keen eyes will see them.”
Batman Vs. Superman is set to be released on May 6th, 2016.
I think the movie already has to many cast members! They might as well call this the justic league movie already… what are your thoughts on this!
Even though Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is confident enough in Captain America 3 to release it against Batman Vs. Superman, Disney is struggling with the idea. Feige says they won’t budge, and it doesn’t look like Warner Bros. is changing their release date any time soon. It’s a very intense game of chicken, but Disney is starting to show signs of backing down.
Variety reporter Brent Lang tweeted a statement by Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn:

Sounds to me like they might back out. Can you blame them, though? With the success of Captain America: The Winter Solider, the next Cap movie is a huge deal for them. It’s hard to tell if it will effect the outcome, but I’d like to think it wouldn’t. As a fan of these franchises I’d just go and watch both of them back-to-back in the same day or at least the same weekend. I understand not everyone is as hardcore a fan as me, but I do assume that all those people who want to watch these two movies will eventually go and see them both after they are released. If the studio does decide to move the release date, I’d understand and wouldn’t think any less of Marvel. They are still going to release a kick-ass movie regardless.
As of right now, both films are slated for release on May 6th, 2016.
WHICH ONE WOULD YOU SEE IF ITS RELEASED ON BOTH DAYS?
Zack Snyder recently gave a really long, in depth interview to Forbes. He couldn’t really speak directly about his Batman Vs. Superman film, but he talked a lot about his ideas of the characters and what he thinks they mean in today’s world. I am very much not a Snyder fangirl, and my perspective on the characters is very different from his, but it was really interesting to get a peek at what he brings to these iconic characters. I kinda got the sense that he likes Batman better than Superman, or at least finds him more interesting.
I think Batman — now after Chris [Nolan]‘s movies and the way we track Batman through his cinematic history — he does have this license to enter our world and be a real character and not a complete cartoon, and he’s able to tell us about the way we live and our society. He moves with us, his morality — I think Superman probably less so, but I think Batman definitely sort of reflects us in a more personal way.
He gave some insight into the development of the sequel and the decision to put Batman up against the Last Son of Krypton. If you read the full interview, you might get the impression that getting to put Batman in his movie was his number one concern when he signed on to make Man of Steel, but that probably isn’t true. It was probably number two or three.
In the first meeting, it was like, “Maybe Batman?” Maybe at the end of the second movie, some Kryptonite gets delivered to Bruce Wayne’s house or something. Like in a cryptic way, that’s the first time we see him. But then, once you say it out loud, right? You’re in a story meeting talking about, like, who should [Superman] fight if he fought this giant alien threat Zod who was basically his equal physically, from his planet, fighting on our turf… You know, who to fight next? The problem is, once you say it out loud, then it’s kind of hard to go back, right? Once you say, “What about Batman?” then you realize, “Okay, that’s a cool idea. What else?” I mean, what do you say after that? …But I’m not gonna say at all that when I took the job to do Man of Steel that I did it in a subversive way to get to Batman. I really believe that only after contemplating who could face [Superman] did Batman come into the picture.
Also, love him or hate him, Snyder is still a big geek himself.
The thing also that’s really fascinating for me is that, even just in the tests we’ve been doing, the costumes, right? You basically have Batman and Superman — and this is without Ben [Affleck] and Henry [Cavill] in the costumes, but just like the stand-ins, just testing to see what the costumes look like. And you have them standing there and they’re standing in the same shot — and then we have Wonder Woman, you know, all three of them in the same shot. Even just for a test, you really have to go, “Wow, that’s crazy!” Not only is it the first time that I’m seeing them, it’s the first time they’ve ever existed together on screen in a movie. And that’s kind of a huge deal. Even just Batman and Superman standing next to each other… [I]t’s kind of epic.
Snyder has pictures of the costumes, but he has no control over when the studio decides to release them. It’s a marketing decision, and unlike David Fincher, he doesn’t insist on being in charge of that.

Because I take a picture of the suit with my camera– I’m actually staring at one right now in my office. And it’s just massive on my wall in my office and it’s epic, let me tell you! And I’m like, “God, I want to send this to the Internet immediately.” But I know I’m not allowed to!”
