Miles Teller Explains Why He Signed On For Fantastic Four 3
Fantastic Four‘s very own Mister Fantastic, Miles Teller, said in a newly-released interview with Digital Spy that he signed on for the Marvel Comics adaptation, in no small part, because it wasn’t Spider-Man.
What makes that a good thing? Well, Teller said that he didn’t particularly want to carry a massive franchise like a superhero tentpole all on his own.
“If it was Spider-Man, that entire movie’s on my shoulders and that’s a more isolating experience,” he said.
“I don’t know if I would be into it, but the fact that it’s a movie that I knew we’d share… the superhero world, that’s a whole different animal. That’s a pretty serious commitment.”
That quote might sound somewhat troubling, given the fact that the Josh Trank-directed film is shrouded in controversy — “It isn’t my fault if it flops” is an easy translation to make there.
It’s more likely what Teller means is that the cast of up-and-comers he’s working with mean not only the pressure, but also the obligations in terms of filming time, sequels and the press tour fall more evenly on the group. Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell will be just as in-demand as Teller is, and the fact that they’re all acclaimed actors thought to be “on the rise” means the others are likely attractive to work with.
Fantastic Four will open in theaters this August.
Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer 2 is Here!
Following its debut on the College Football Playoff National Championship on ESPN, Marvel Studios has now brought online the new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, which you can watch using the player below!
Avengers: Age of Ultron is the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963. Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Jeremy Latcham, Patricia Whitcher, Stan Lee and Jon Favreau serve as executive producers. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in theaters on May 1, 2015.
New Concept Art from Marvel’s Ant-Man Debuts
The big week of Ant-Man continues! Following the release of the first poster, the first trailer, and new images from Marvel’s upcoming microscopic hero, two new pieces of concept art from the film have debuted online via the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Check them out below!

New Names Rumored for Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm in X-Men: Apocalypse
Following a rumored short list of potential actors and actresses last November, new names have emerged today said to be in contention to play both Jean Grey (aka Phoenix) and Scott Summers (aka Cyclops) in Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. What’s more, Latino Review also lists two names up for a young Ororo Munroe (aka Storm)!
New names for the Jean Grey role include Sophie Turner (“Game of Thrones,” Barely Lethal) and Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, The Grand Budapest Hotel). They join the previously-rumored Elle Fanning (Maleficent, The Boxtrolls) and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit, 3 Days to Kill) in the updated short list. Chloe Grace Moretz (If I Stay, Carrie) was, according to TheWrap reporter Jeff Sneider’s Twitter feed, actually offered the part but had to to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts.
Joining the previously-rumored Timothee Chalamet (Interstellar, Men, Women & Children), Ben Hardy (“EastEnders”) and Charlie Rowe (“Red Band Society”) on the Cyclops shortlist are Taron Edgerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Testament of Youth), Jamie Blackley (If I Stay, Snow White and the Huntsman) and Tye Sheridan (Mud, Joe). According to Sneider, Sheridan is the current frontrunner for the part.
As for Storm, the two names now rumored are Zendaya Coleman, the star of Disney Channel’s “KC Undercover” and Alexandra Shipp, best known for headlining Lifetime’s recent biopic Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B.
Cylcops and Phoenix were previously played in the X-Men films by James Marsden and Famke Janssen (with Tim Pocock playing a younger Summers in X-Men Origins: Wolverine) while Storm has been played in the past by Academy Award winner Halle Berry.
It’s uncertain exactly how large of a role any of these mutants will have in the 2016 feature, although it is widely believed that casting is taking into account plans to feature these characters in subsequent X-Men films.
Confirmed to star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac and Nicholas Hoult (with more names expected to be confirmed shortly), X-Men: Apocalypse is scripted by Simon Kinberg, Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris. Said to be the conclusion of a trilogy started with X-Men: First Class and continued with X-Men: Days of Future Past, cameras will start rolling on the next adventure in Montreal beginning April, 2015 for a May 27, 2016 release.
Marvel Unleashes Full Teaser Trailer for ANT-MAN
If you’re reading this site, there’s a good chance you’re already very familiar with the history of Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man movie: Edgar Wright spent years developing the screenplay with an eye to direct, but ended up walking away from the film because he ultimately didn’t see eye to eye with the studio. Bring It On director Peyton Reed came in as a replacement, and Kevin Feige and the people at Marvel have gone out of their way to convince fans that Reed is the right guy for the job.
During tonight’s series premiere of Agent Carter, Marvel released the first official teaser for Ant-Man, so fans can now decide for themselves. What do you think? Does it look good, or could this be one of the studio’s rare missteps?
Daredevil is coming to Netflix on April 10th
Marvel has finally revealed the release date for its upcoming Daredevil series: it’s coming on April 10th. All 13 of the hour-long episodes from the first season of the Netflix-exclusive show will be available on that date, in every territory that the streaming service is available. The series will star Boardwalk Empire‘s Charlie Cox in the titular role, and is inspired by the “Man Without Fear” run of the comic book created by Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr. And as is becoming a Marvel tradition, the company hinted that you can expect to see a lot more in the way of teases between now and April.
Channing Tatum’s X-Men Spinoff to Hit Theaters in 2016
Twentieth Century Fox has set Channing Tatum’s X-Men spinoff “Gambit” for Oct. 7, 2016.
The Gambit character, who debuted in 1990, is an expert card-thrower and has the power to manipulate kinetic energy.
“Gambit,” written by Joshua Zetumer, will be Fox’s eighth X-Men movie. “X-Men: Apocalypse” debuts on May 27, 2016.
“Gambit” will face off against Warner Bros.’ “Live by Night” and Universal’s “Monster High.”
Fox also announced Monday that it had set or shifted dates for six other films — most notably, moving its next “Planet of the Apes” movie back a year to July 14, 2017.
The studio had originally planned to open its ninth “Planet of the Apes” on July 29, 2016. Instead, Fox has taken the “Fantastic Four” sequel off July 14, 2017, and moved it forward six weeks to June 2, 2017.
Fox successfully rebooted the “Apes” franchise in 2011 with “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” which grossed $482 million worldwide. This year’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” was even more successful with over $700 million.
Fox’s reboot of “Fantastic Four,” directed by Josh Trank and starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell, will open on Aug. 7.
“Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,” a comedy to be directed by Jake Szymanski, has been set for July 29, 2016. The script by Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien focuses on two brothers posting an online ad for wedding dates.
The studio dated two films for next year’s holiday season — vidgame adaptation “Assassin’s Creed,” starring Michael Fassbender with Justin Kurzel directing, has been dated for Dec. 21, 2016; and P.T. Barnum biopic “The Greatest Showman on Earth,” starring Hugh Jackman, will open Dec. 25, 2016.

Benedict Cumberbatch Opens Up about DOCTOR STRANGE
I for one is not crazy ab out this movie! I don’t think strange is interesting enough to hold a stand alone film, but i think cumberbatch is an excelten choice for this role! During an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Cumberbatch opens up about playing the Sorcerer Supreme, and when he was asked if taking on this role was a risk, he said,
“I don’t think it’s a risk because of Marvel. Marvel is a stable of bringing out ordinary comic characters and turning them into screen-like gods. It’s very different, it’s an Astral Plane. There’s a huge new element to this Marvel universe that’s going to be employed in building this story and this character. But you know, I’m really excited about it, about working with Scott [Derrickson] whose imagination is endless, and all the boys and girls at Marvel who know what they’re doing. I’ve got a few things to get under my belt first. I’ve got to do that little stage production of Hamlet in the summer and the Christmas special of Sherlock, which we start shooting in about three days’ time – Whoops! Yeah, that’s there.”
For those of you not really familiar with the world of Strange, the Astral Plane is the second of seven levels of existence. The others include Physical, Causal, Akashic, Mental, Messianic, and Buddhaic planes. They all have connections to the physical world that only psychic beings can visit. It’s definitely going to be an interestingly awesome new element to explore in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The actor was then asked if he would be heading to the Himalayas to shoot the movie, and this was his reply:
“Ahh … you’ll have to wait and see. I’m not going to be eked out on any spoilers or reveals now. It’s quite a way off but I’m very excited about that spiritual dimension, obviously. It’s something that’s been a huge part of my life.”
Cumberbatch goes on to talk about meditation, his experience with monks in Darjeeling, and whether he would ever take on the mystical arts.
“I meditate a lot. That’s a huge tool in trying to calm myself, get away from the crazy circus of it all, have a focused mind as well as be a kinder, considerate person in the world. I took a lot of stuff away from my experience in Darjeeling, West Bengal, right at the Nepali border. It was Tibetan Buddhist monks in a converted Nepali house in India, with a view of Bhutan. It was a profoundly formative experience at a very young age. It’s something I’ve tried to keep in my life. It features already.”
Then, in case you’re wondering if the actor ever read the Doctor Strange comics growing up, he admits,
“Growing up, no. I didn’t read many comics at all. Asterix a bit. I think that was it. There weren’t many comics in my household — [in a self-mocking voice] ‘I’m so deprived.’ We didn’t have Marvel so much. But you can bet your bottom dollar I’m reading them now, avidly.”
The movie is part of the third phase of Marvel’s plan, and it’s scheduled to hit theaters on November 4th, 2016. It seems so far away, but at least we’ll have lots of other great Marvel film to watch between now and then.

Ridiculous IRON MAN 4 Casting Rumor
An interesting but silly rumor has surfaced about who could be taking over for Robert Downey Jr. in a possible Iron Man 4. We know that Robert Downey Jr. won’t play the character forever, and that Marvel will have to find a way to replace him or remove the character from the MCU completely. Fans love Iron Man, and I imagine the studio will want to keep him around for as long as they can.
A website called Bam Smack Pow (via Cinema Blend) has reported a silly rumor that 14-year-old Ty Simpkins could be up for the role of Iron Man in a film that will be released in 2019. Simpkins is the same kid who played Harley Keener in Iron Man 3 and who will also appear in the upcoming Jurassic World. So by the time they make the movie the actor will be 17 or 18, but would Stark actually want this kid to take his place?
It’s really hard to believe that there is any truth behind this rumor. If fact I think it’s absolutely absurd. Hell, at this point we don’t even know if Marvel is even planning a fourth Iron Man film! For all we know, Marvel has a story arc in place that will lead to the farewell of Tony Stark through Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War.
I just can’t see Marvel handing the torch off to a teenager. The fans would go crazy! That’s just too much of a risk. Then there’s the fact that Iron Man isn’t Iron Man without Tony Stark.
