It has alot of  funny moments, but it just feels like that classic Harry and Lloyd to me. Maybe it’s just the way the trailer was cut, I hope that  not all the funny moments are in the  trailers.  but i am going to see the  film  it looks like alot of fun!

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprise their classic roles, and the story takes place 20 years after their epic road trip to Aspen Colorado. Their new adventure takes them on a trip to find Harry’s illegitimate daughter for a kidney transplant. The comedy will be released in theaters on November 14th! Do you think it looks like it will be funny?

‘Ghostbusters’ returns to theaters this August!

The landmark sci-fi / comedy mashup Ghostbusters arrived in movie theaters 30 years ago this weekend — but if you were too young to catch the film on the big screen back in 1984, you’re getting another chance this summer. According to Entertainment Weekly, Ghostbusters will be re-released in more than 700 theaters on August 29th, the centerpiece of a campaign to celebrate the enduringly popular film’s milestone birthday.

The movie’s re-release is only one aspect of the campaign Sony Pictures has planned for the summer — special events, new merchandise, and a new Blu-ray set are also part of the plan. On September 16th, Ghostbusters and its sequel Ghostbusters II will receive 30th anniversary and 25th anniversary editions, respectively. This marks the first time Ghostbuster II has been released on Blu-ray; it’ll also contain deleted scenes that haven’t yet been released. Both movies will also feature newly recorded conversations with Dan Aykroyd and director Ivan Reitman.

Even before this planned marketing blitz, Ghostbusters has come up rather frequently lately — writer and star Harold Ramis died earlier this year, prompting Reitman to decide that he wouldn’t direct the potential third film in the franchise that has been rumored for the better part of the last two decades. A traveling Ghostbusters fan art exhibit has also made several stops around the country recently, an event that proved to be a great tribute to the film — with Sony Pictures now throwing its weight behind the Ghostbusters 30th anniversary, it sounds like there will be plenty more opportunities for fans to express their appreciation for the boys in grey.

WHat do you think?   will you go see this movie again in the theater?

PEEPS are Getting their Own Movie!

The classic marshmallow holiday treat Peeps are getting a big screen feature film adaptation! These cavity creating candies are always a big hit during Easter, and filmmaker Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City, Underdog) must have got a lot of them in his Easter basket last weekend, because he’s the guy pushing it into development. I’m sure he looked at them and said to himself… “How have these not been made into a movie yet!?” So he went out, optioned the rights, and has started the long process of bringing them to a movie theater near you.

According to Deadline the film will be animated, and it is described as a “Lego Movie-esque family epic set the night before a Peeps diorama contest, when a wayward Peep gets misplaced and must adventure through the fantasy lands of different-themed dioramas before the contest’s judging begins.”

That sounds like it could work. However the movie turns out, the kids are going to love it, and there’s a lot of fun marketing ideas that a studio can play with for a franchise like this. This whole thing may sound like a silly idea, but they could make a lot of freakin’ money off of it if they play their cards right.

The report also explains that Rifkin got the idea from watching his niece and nephew make their own Peeps diorama for a school project. “That led him to discover the elaborate annual contests hosted by the likes of the Washington Post, whose winning entry this year was a black and white diorama of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s iconic ‘I Have A Dream’ speech – fashioned, of course, entirely out of the sugar-dusted marshmallows.”

I had no idea this world of Peeps existed until now! I think that’s fascinating though. He will eventually partner with a studio to make this movie happen. Rifkin will write the script, and this wouldn’t be his first time writing a family adventure film either. He previously wrote the films Mouse Hunt and Small Soldiers. He’s currently set to direct a thriller called Director’s Cut that was written by Penn Jillette of Penn and Teller fame.

What are your thoughts on this!  I think its nuts!

MRS. DOUBTFIRE Sequel

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/534f3d6ae4b0e7399e10b21f/1397701996783/mrs-doubtfire-is-getting-an-unnecessary-sequel?format=750w

In new movies news it seems like a sequel will happen for  this film,  did think it  would happen as there didnt serve a purpose for one.  Chris Columbus and star Robin Williams would return to make the film which is being written by the screenwriter of Elf, David Berenbaum.

It’s been 21 years since the first film was released, so why now? Apparently the sequel has been in the works since 2001, with Bonnie Hunt attached to write it. It went through several drafts and several other screenwriters. The project eventually died because Columbus and Williams never liked anything that they saw.

Now that Berenbaum is attached, there is a spark of hope for the talent. I loved Elf, but that was his best film. Since then he’s gone downhill writing movies such as The Haunted Mansion, Zoom, and The Spiderwick Chronicles. So who knows how the script will turn out for Mrs. Doubtfire 2. I’m seriously not expecting much from him.

There’s no information on what the story will be, but at the end of the first movie Williams’ character is hosting his own TV show called  “Euphegenia’s House,” in which he gets to be his alter ego. He was also left with joint custody of his kids after the divorce and all of the insanity he put his family through.

The sequel could go in so many different directions. The version that never happened involved Williams as Mrs. Doubtfire moving close to his daughter’s college so he could keep an eye on her. Since they didn’t like that direction, and the kids are way past their college years at this point, I’m sure that is off the table. Last year Columbus talked about a potential sequel, saying,

“We’re talking about a sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire. We’ve talked about it (Robin Williams), and the studio is interested in it. The thing that fascinates me about a sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire is with most actors who create an iconic charcter like Mrs. Doubtfire, when you come back and do that character, well, you’re twenty years older so, you’re not going to look the same. The cool thing with Mrs. Doubtfire is there’s a character, there’s a woman, who is actually going to look exactly as she did in 1993.”

The Original was a decent  film  but  we didnt need to see a second one on this one! What are your thoughts on this?

Girl Meets world!

If you were born in the ‘80s, you probably feel like you grew up with Cory Matthews on Boy Meets World. And like all of us, Cory grew up. He and Topanga are still together, obvs, and they have a tween daughter. Wait, what? They’re old enough to have a tween daughter? Excuse me, I have to go look in the mirror and check for crow’s feet.

Anyway, ’80s kids are pleased as punch that our childhood favorites are going to be back on the screen each week on Girl Meets World, a new Disney channel show that will chart the trials and travails of Cory and Topanga’s daughter, Riley, as she grows up, and now there’s a teaser to whet our appetite even more. It looks like a pretty standard heartwarming coming of age comedy, but the nostalgia factor will be working in its favor. (Remember when Ben and Pat did a close reading of the Boy Meets World late years theme song on our old GeekTyrant podcast? It happened.) Presumably there will also be some kids watching it, too.

Girl Meets World stars Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter, Danielle Fishel, Ben Savage, Corey Fogelmanis, and August Maturo. It will premiere this summer on the Disney Channel.

A decade after Boy Meets World, Cory and Topanga Matthews are married and have two children. The younger child, a daughter named Riley, faces life lessons through her family, friends, and school, as her parents did when they were younger.

A GOONIES Sequel is Going to Happen! Richard Donner is 1000% Certain

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53403cc4e4b063017f7a5715/1396718792717/a-goonies-sequel-is-going-to-happen-richard-donner-is-1000-certain?format=750w

According to director Richard Donner a sequel to The Goonies is going to happen! This is something I’ve wanted to see happen for as long as I can remember, ever since I watched the first film when I was kid in 1986. I don’t know why it took so long to actually get a sequel into development, but after all these years and all the rumors, it sounds like it’s finally going to happen.

When asked by TMZ if he was going to make another comic book movie, the filmmaker replied with, “If you call ‘Goonies’ a comic book. We’re doing a sequel.”

He went on to say that he hopes to get the entire original cast back which includes actors such as Corey Feldman, Josh Brolin, Sean Astin, Jeff Cohen and Martha Plimpton. Donner didn’t say whether the film will follow the gang 28 years later or feature them in smaller side roles. I hope that it takes the gang on another fun and crazy adventure though. I don’t want to see a Goonies movie that focuses on their kids, but of course that is a possibility.

For those of you who doubt this news, Donner went on to solidify it saying,

“It will happen. I’m 1000 percent certain there will be a sequel. I will bet my children on it.”

Below you’ll find a photo of the cast and crew of the original film all grown up.http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53403d29e4b065254d706f56/1396718902884/a-goonies-sequel-is-going-to-happen-richard-donner-is-1000-certain1?format=750w

Arnold Schwarzenegger Parodies “Get to the Chopper!” Line with Jimmy Fallon

While on the show he participated in a great infomercial skit where he parodies a couple of classic lines of dialogue from the films that made him famous. One of those include his “get to the chopper!” line from Predator. Check out the fun skit they did below.

Jason Sudeikis Cast as Fletch in FLETCH WON

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/531f6a82e4b0ce8f9d9b4c76/1394567827528/?format=750w

Warner Bros. is planning to reboot the classic 1980s Fletch comedy franchise and they are looking to cast Jason Sudeikis in the iconic role famously played by Chevy Chase. The movie is called Fletch Won, and it’s the first in a planned series of films the studio is hoping to make.

The Fletch movies are based on the Gregory McDonald mystery novels that center on an investigative reporter named I. M. Fletcher. I’ve never read any of the books, but the movies that Chase made were freakin’ hilarious. I can only hope that the new films will be just as funny.

I think Sudeikis will be great in the role, but it will be hard to outdo what Chase did. According to THRFletch Won is an origin story described as “a gritty action comedy with heart and more tonally in line with McDonald’s novels than the Chase movies.”

The studio has been trying to get this film off the ground for awhile, but they brought in David List, Steve Golin, and Michael Sugar to write the script, and apparently everyone likes what they’ve seen. They are now looking for a director to bring it to life.
