Leslie Mann Joins New Line’s ‘Vacation’ Sequel as Audrey Griswold

Leslie Mann is joining the cast of New Line’s “Vacation” sequel opposite Ed Helms and Christina Applegate.

Shooting is set to start next week in Louisiana with John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein making their directorial debut from their script. Helms is starring as Rusty Griswold, the grown-up son of Clark Griswold (portrayed by Chevy Chase in the 1983 film), who takes a family trip similar to the one he took as a boy.

Mann will play Rusty’s sister Audrey Griswold, who was played by Dana Barron in the 1983 original. Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins have been tapped as Rusty Griswold’s sons in the reboot and Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day are in negotiations to appear.

Chase and Beverly D’Angelo, who played Clark Griswold’s wife in the original, are on board to appear.

Chris Bender and David Dobkin are producing. Jeff Kleeman is exec producing.

23 JUMP STREET Moves Into Development

There’s no word on whether it will actually take place in medical school, but why in the hell wouldn’t they use that as a starting point!? That could be great!

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will be overseeing the script development, but there’s no word on if they will come back to direct it or not. I hope they do because they know exactly how to handle this franchise.

I know the image above is for the fake 25 Jump Street movie, but they didn’t have one for 23.

I am not a real fan of the movies,  i loved the tv show growing up!   the movies are ok   I  dont like the fact that they made it  more into a joke!  plus i felt the  2 movies  were exactly  alike!  what are your thoughts on a  3rd film?

Jackie Chan Has Been Approached about RUSH HOUR 4

It looks like New Line Cinema is planning to develop Rush Hour 4. In an interview with IGN, Jackie Chan admitted that the studio wants to make another film in the franchise, but they don’t have a script and until there is one, he’s not interested. Here’s his exact quote:

“Lately they want to make Rush Hour 4. I said ‘No, show me the script first. I don’t need another Rush Hour 4. You need Rush Hour 4. Show me the script.’ I don’t want to do a rubbish script just because they want to make the movie.”

Talk of a fourth Rush Hour movie started seven years ago, but thankfully nothing ever materialized from it. The last thing we reported on it was back in 2012 when producer Arthur Sarkissian, said that he was working with Chan and Chris Tucker on it. Here’s what he had to say about that and the direction he was looking to take it at the time:

“I am working on Rush Hour 4 right now with Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. I’m trying to do it closer to how I did Rush Hour 1, more down to earth, more gritty, introduce two new characters and make it real the way the first one was. I personally was not happy with the third one. I thought 1 and 2 were very good. I think 3 got out of hand a little bit. It’s not a matter of just bringing them back to do another segment of that or a sequel to it by putting them in another city and having them bicker. I don’t want that. I want something new.”

I stopped watching after the first  film  not  so  sure this  film series should keep going  but  what  do u think?

GALAXY QUEST Sequel Wanted by Everyone Involved

Director Dean Parisot‘s 1999 sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest was a hell of a film. I love that movie, and over the years we’ve heard some talk of a sequel but nothing has ever materialized from that talk. The talking continues, but it’s from all of the main players involved, and they all want to see a sequel happen.

MTV recently did an oral history of the film, and several members of the cast and crew came in to talk about the film. Those people included Tim Allen, Sigourney Allen, Sam Rockwell, Justin Long, director Dean Parisot, producer Mark Johnson, and writer Robert Gordon.

You’ve got to remember that this movie was ahead of its time, and it was made in an era where geek culture wasn’t as popular as it is now. At that time San Diego Comic-Con wasn’t the huge popular convention that it is now. I think a sequel would do extremely now, and I would love it if it happened. Here’s what everyone had to say about it:

Tim Allen: There’s a sequel somewhere. It’s written, but I haven’t really gotten a straight answer about it, but Hollywood is a very peculiar place. It is none of my business.

Writer Robert Gordon: On the record, I definitely have ideas for a sequel. Off the record, OK, turn your recorder off.

Justin Long: So many people ask me about a sequel.

Producer Mark Johnson: If we announced a sequel or a TV show, there’d be genuine excitement, not “It’s too late.” We’ve tried. I’d do it, Dean would do it. But we need Bob. It’s a Bob Gordon joint, but Bob is a very specific guy.

Sam Rockwell: F–k yeah, a sequel would be amazing. If it was a respectful script to “Galaxy Quest.”

Sigourney Weaver: Tell Bob, tell Dean, we are all ready for a sequel. I still have my costume!

Allen: How’s this for a sequel: it’s 15 years later. The Thermians come back, but they haven’t aged. Maybe they don’t have warp anymore so it took 15 years. They have to search for a new homeland. Sarris [the main villain] is gone but his family never forgets and you take it from there. . .

this was a great movie!  I would  look to see another one?  are  you ready for  another galaxy quest?

Paul Feig May Direct GHOSTBUSTERS Reboot with Female Cast

In news that has enraged depressed male Internet commenters the world over, Variety reports that Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) is in talks to direct a reboot of Ghostbusters that will feature an all-female ghost busting team. A new script will be written from scratch. I know that some of you were still holding out hope for Ghostbusters 3, but that seems less and less likely all the time. Bill Murray is never going to sign on, and Harold Ramis died earlier this year, which is most likely what prompted director Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2) to leave the project in March. That doesn’t leave much of a band to get back together (sorry, Dan Aykroyd).

Sony has been looking for a new director for the project since Reitman’s departure, and now it sounds like they’ve settled on this idea instead. THR originally reported that Feig was in talks to direct Ghostbusters 3, but have updated their article to state that this is a new project. Apparently the talks are very preliminary, and no formal negotiations have taken place, so nothing is set in stone. The director is already set to shoot Spy with Melissa McCarthy, due out next year, and he reportedly has several scripts in development at Fox, so this new lady Ghostbusters is, at best, third in line.

I know everyone complains about reboots, and a lot of them are terrible and unnecessary. The first two Ghostbusters don’t require updating, but if Sony is intent on squeezing more money out of the franchise, wouldn’t you rather see a fresh start with some really funny comediennes than one out of three original Ghostbusters handing things off to Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, and Zac Efron? I can get behind complaints that Sony is messing with the Ghostbusters, but I don’t understand complaints that girls ruin everything. Feig hasn’t directly commented on the news, but he did send out this sort of subtweet:

 Interesting how making a movie with men in the lead roles is normal but making a movie with women in the lead roles is a “gimmick.”

I feel ya, Paul Feig.

Not sure how i would feel about that  but  what  women would u like to see  as the leads if they do?

Trailer for Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig’s THE SKELETON TWINS

Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions have released the first trailer for Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig‘s new indie dramady The Skeleton Twins. The movie premiered at Sundance earlier this year, and I heard a lot of good things about it. The movie looks like a solid humorous and heartfelt story.

The story follows two estranged twins, Maggie and Milo, who feel that they’re at the end of their ropes. “An unexpected reunion forces them to confront why their lives went so wrong. As the twins reconnect, they realize the key to fixing their lives may just lie in repairing their relationship.”

The R-rated movie also stars Luke Wilson and Ty Burrell. It will get a limited theatrical release on September 19th.

Funny Teaser Trailer for HORRIBLE BOSSES 2

Warner Bros. has released the first teaser trailer for Horrible Bosses 2, and it looks pretty damn hilarious. I really enjoyed the first movie, and after watching this teaser, I’m convinced that the sequel is going to be just good.

Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day reteam for more insane hijinks. It looks like the sequel is going to involve a kidnapping. The teaser shows them visiting Kevin Spacey‘s character in prison. If you don’t recall, he was arrested at the end of the first film. It also features the return of Jennifer Aniston, who is still enjoying her crazy fetishes. Jamie Foxx is coming back to help them pull off being hardcore criminals.

The movie also stars Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz. It’s set to be released on November 26th!

Community Is Heading to Yahoo

Six seasons? Check. And a movie? Not yet. But fans can rejoice over the news that Yahoo will pick up where NBC left off after cancelling the cult fave Community last month.

Deadline.com reported that Sony Pictures TV and Yahoo closed a deal Monday to revive the cancelled sitcom Community for a sixth season, which will air with thirteen new episodes this fall on Yahoo Screen. The deal came through just as options on the cast were set to expire. The cable channel Esquire, along with online services Hulu and Crackle, were rumored to have been among Community‘s suitors since the cancellation.

Community creator Dan Harmon, who is returning as executive producer, said in a statement, “I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo… I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!”

As far as casting goes, Kathy Savitt, CMO of Yahoo said, “We couldn’t be more excited to work with Dan [Harmon], Joel [McHale], and the entire cast” so it seems as though a decent number of cast members are in for season six.

Community star Joel McHale, who started the viral hashtag #darkesttimeline after NBC announced the show’s cancellation in May, tweeted Monday a new hashtag to celebrate the Yahoo pickup: #CommunitySixthSeason. And the internet could not be more excited right now.

Tina Fey To Produce “Hocus Pocus” Sequel Will She Star As Well?

As everyone knows and accepts as fact, Hocus Pocus is one of the greatest movies of all time. The beloved 1993 classic will finally get a sequel, with America’s sweetheart, Tina Fey, joining the film as a producer.

The original starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as a trio of sister witches running rampant on Halloween night after accidentally being resurrected by some meddling kids.

According to The Tracking Board:

Tthe sequel will pick up years after the original, focusing on a housewife who is related to the Sanderson sisters, who teams up with a witch hunter to save her children after they run afoul of some resurrected witches while out trick-or-treating.

No one from the original cast has signed on to the movie, and it’s not clear if Fey will also step in front of the camera. But rumor has it Disney is seeking to cast “leads in the vein of Tina Fey and Melissa McCarthy.”

Brilliant.

And since we’re reviving old Bette Midler movies, how’s about a sequel to The First Wives’ Club? I could watch Bette, Goldie and Diane strutting down an empty street in white suits till the day I die.

Life After beth comedy movie trailer

This is the first trailer trailer for the zombie rom com Life After Beth, which stars Aubrey Plaza and Dane DeHaan. I had a chance to see the movie at Sundance earlier this year, and it’s very entertaining and definitely worth watching.

The story follows Zack (DeHaan), whose girlfriend Beth dies and comes back to life. Zack uses the opportunity as a second chance to show her how much he loves and wants her. She seems fine at first, but slowly starts to rot and turn into a zombie. While this is all happening, Zack is still trying to work things out and keep it together.

It’s a really fun and clever concept that was executed perfectly. The movie also stars Anna Kendrick, John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, and Cheryl Hines.  Here’s a more detailed synopsis:

Zach is devastated by the unexpected death of his girlfriend, Beth. When she miraculously comes back to life, Zach takes full advantage of the opportunity to experience all the things he regretted not doing when she was alive. However, the newly returned Beth isn’t quite the way he remembered her, and before long, Zach’s world takes a turn for the worse.

Imitating what Dr. Frankenstein did with his monster, writer/director Jeff Baena assembles disparate parts of his film into a new whole and jolts fresh life into it. By fusing elements of a young love story and a zombie movie, he concocts a wickedly funny and shockingly poignant film. With its killer soundtrack and all-star cast, including Aubrey Plaza, whose distinctive delivery has never been used to greater effect, and Dane DeHaan, who perfectly embodies the suffering of a young man with a broken heart and a rotting girlfriend, Life After Beth will leave you dying to see it again.
