Risen 3: Titan Lords – The Quest for a Soul VIDEO GAME

Risen 3:Titan Lords puts you in the boots of a young warrior who has his soul stolen and sets out on a quest to get it back. I get a bit miffed when I leave the house without my headphones, so losing your soul would be a severely bad start to a Monday.

While there isn’t much else to go on at the moment, the website does make mention of multiple factions which will dictate what paths you take to achieve your ultimate goal of ridding the world of the darkness that is slowly overtaking it. If they succeed in making each faction unique from each other, there could be a plethora of replay value. The first two Risen games were released to mixed reviews, so hopefully Piranha Bytes can make this third time a charm. You can catch the small teaser trailer below and some screens in the gallery.

NailBiter111 got ahold of some game footage from a cancelled The Flash video game. The video features an early test to figure out how the combat might work. Greg Miller, lead designer on the game, sent CBM the footage and the following statement.

Miller on the game:

This was a very early test of the direction we were thinking of taking running combat. We were shooting for the old school feel of the “Road Rash” series where you could punch and pummel your opponent until you got him to wipe out. Our main difference was that you could assign a controller button to an opponent and this would allow you to bounce back and forth between multiple running foes. The bad guys were going to be Cadmus experiments into super speed who would terrorize Flash from time to time when he raced across the long city expressways. This video shows maybe about a weeks’ worth of work put into the system. It was only just coming online. We got a bit more work done on it before we closed down and we were starting to get some really amazing wipe outs happening but unfortunately I didn’t capture any of that. Regardless, it’s a nice little taste of what could have been.

Its a shame the game got canceled   would of been nice to see what  could of been  done with this!  What do you think?

9 Things You Need To Know About PS4’s Virtual Reality Headset

https://i2.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/532a1281e4b063a5e103d0e2/1395266177045/9-things-you-need-to-know-about-ps4s-virtual-reality-headset.jpg?resize=353%2C210

Earlier today at the 2014 Game Developers Conference, Sony formally announced that they’re working on a virtual reality headset. If you’re a hardcore gamer you’ve probably kept up with all of the rumors and speculation surrounding this Oculus Rift competitor. But if you’re just a casual gamer like myself, you need someone to break it down for you because all you’re thinking about are the many attempts at VR that came and went in the ’90s which failed to impress — lookin’ at you Virtual Boy. PlayStation Access does just that in this video breakdown of the VR headset.

If you need an even more concise breakdown of the key features of the VR Headset that will integrate with the PlayStation 4’s camera, controller, and Move motion sensors, I’ve also included a list of features below.

Specs found in the current Project Morpheus prototype: (source: TechCrunch)

  • 1080p display
  • 1000Hz motion detection
  • Only one headset at a time is supported
  • Headset is currently connected to the PS4 by a 5-meter wire
  • Positional/rotational head tracking
  • Tracking is handled by the same camera that tracks PS4 Move controllers
  • It works for people with glasses
  • Content pushed to the Morpheus can be mirrored to a TV, but it sounds like it can handle asymmetric gameplay (different things on each screen) as well.
  • An “Open air” design prevents the lenses from fogging up.

Details on Batman: Arkham Knight Revealed!

https://i1.wp.com/cdn1-www.superherohype.com/assets/uploads/2014/03/AK-header4.jpg?w=584

We got the announcement yesterday that developer Rocksteady was returning to the franchise they started with Batman: Arkham Asylum and bringing us a “final chapter” later this year in Batman: Arkham Knight. While the initial announcement revealed some things about the new title, the latest issue of GameInformer revealed many more details including the size of the map, the uses of the Batmobile, and what the title ‘Arkham Knight’ refers to.

Taking place just one year after the events of “Arkham City,” the plot of the game will see a Gotham that has come under siege from many of Batman’s famous villains including Two-Face, Penguin, Harley Quinn, and Scarecrow, but also a new face. “Arkham Knight” is not just the title of the game, but also a brand new villain that has been added to the mix. Rocksteady has reportedly been working with DC’s Geoff Johns to create the new character, but they’re remaining tight lipped about him for now.

“We hadn’t in the previous games introduced someone new to the universe,” game director Sefton Hill said. “We wanted to introduce someone who could really challenge Batman to go head to head with him in lots of different ways. We’re not talking about those ways just yet but this guy is definitely a formidable foe for Batman.”

The Gotham we see in “Arkham Knight” will be even bigger than the previous versions, taking place on three different islands throughout the city which the developer says is five times larger than “Arkham City.”

“As we’ve said before with Arkham City, it’s not about scale as much as detail,” Hill said, “We want to make sure the world is rich and full of interesting things to do. We’re not trying to create the biggest open-world game ever. We are trying to create a really rich, vibrant, dense open world.”

The Batmobile is the biggest addition to the gameplay of “Arkham Knight,” and Rocksteady wasn’t shy about their ambitions for it.

“We wanted to make the best car in any game ever,” Hill said. “That was our mission statement right from the start.”

With the push of a button, fans will be able to summon the Batmobile to their location in order to speed off into the night. Not only will the Batmobile provide convenient transportation, but it will also serve as the basis for many of the Riddler’s challenges in the new title.

No sequel to “Arkham Asylum” and “Arkham City” is complete without the man himself, and GameInformer has confirmed that Kevin Conroy will indeed return to voice the Batman in the upcoming final chapter.

Batman: Arkham Knight will debut on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC this October.

MAGIC: THE GATHERING Headed to the Big Screen

Via: THR

We’ve got another big, epic fantasy game world coming to the big screen! 20th Century Fox has closed a deal with Hasbro to acquire the rights to the fantasy card game Magic: The Gathering. The studio has hired writer and producer Simon Kinberg to help develop the project into a feature film. He’s previously helped in developing the X-Men and Fantastic Four universes for the studio.

The plan is to adapt it into an epic film franchise like The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. This is one of the games I played a ton with my friends growing up in the ’90s. I haven’t played in years, though. I don’t really even remember how to play it, but I did enjoy it. I just didn’t have the time to keep up with it.

After World of Warcraft was picked up to get a movie adaptation I knew that Magic: The Gathering wasn’t far behind. The game was introduced in 1993, and it involves cards featuring a bunch of fantasy races, wizards, creatures, weapons, and spells that the players use to defeat each other. The cards and characters varied in strength, and some of the cards are incredibly valuable.

There’s so much awesome potential here, they have a ton of stuff to work with, and I’m really excited about the possibilities. If this thing turns out to be successful, we could have another badass fantasy franchise on our list of things to follow and watch! I’m hoping for the best.

Microsoft Says They Have No Plans for a HALO Movie

HalomovieEarlier this week a Production Weekly rumor that Ridley Scott would be producing a big screen adaptation of Halo hit the net. Apparently the movie would exist independently of Steven Spielberg’s series, which is set to air on Xbox Live.

Well, unless Microsoft is lying to us, there’s no truth to that bit of news. They released a statement to Eurogamer that says:

The Halo franchise encompasses many elements, including games, action figures, novels and more. As always, we have many projects in the works that offer us the opportunity to bring in new audiences to the franchise, as we did in the past with Halo Legends and Halo: Forward Unto Dawn. We plan to continue telling the Halo story through innovative channels, but there are no plans for a Halo motion picture at this time.

I  am one to say that i am  disappointed in the new i was  hoping to see a  full halo movie soon!  ow well  maybe  one day.  What is your  thoughts?
