Elizabeth Olsen on Her Scarlet Witch Costume in AGE OF ULTRON

During a recent interview with Total Film, Elizabeth Olsen talked about her role as Scarlet Witch in Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. When asked if she would wear the sultry costume that her character dons in the comics, she said,

“We’ve done some costume stuff, yeah! My favourite piece is my secrecy cloak that prevents anyone from seeing what I’m wearing. There’s a hood, and a robe – it protects the image!

“I don’t think Joss ever would have hired me, honestly, if he wanted me to wear those outfits; I am not a professional athlete and nor am I a model. Wearing those costumes wouldn’t be fun for anyone who wasn’t those things. He already had a different idea. It respects and involves the comic-book character but it’s different, more rooted. It’s for someone today.

“Well, If someone walked around wearing what she wore in the comics, people would stop and say, ‘What the hell… she thinks she’s a superhero!’”

Whedon has always been great with costumes, so I’m excited to see what he’s done with the looks of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, who is being played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Marvel Already Prepping for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Sequel

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52f3d385e4b0b5c2c647d146/1391711111485/?format=1000w

We have yet to see the full potential of Marvel’s upcoming sci-fi action film Guardians of the Galaxy, but it looks like a sequel won’t be too far behind. According to JoBlo, an inside source says Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will be coming out during Marvel’s Phase 3 lineup. The sequel is said to be aimed for release on May 6th, 2016, which would fill the first of two previously announced release dates the studio has yet to reveal titles for.

Having seen some great looking early footage from the film at Comic-Con I knew there would be a sequel at some point. The crowd went wild! Marvel seems to know what they are doing, and I think audience is going to love what they are doing with this intergalactic team of misfits.

There’s no information on if James Gunn will be back to direct the sequel, but it would be great if he does. I seriously can’t wait for you to see some footage from the film if you haven’t already seen it. I’m excited to see more footage, and we can only hope that the final product will blow audiences’ minds.

Take it as a rumor, but remember… Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige has said they have plans for Marvel films through 2021, which means anything is possible.

Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st, 2014.

Paul Bettany to Play The Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron

Paul Bettany to Play The Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron?

It looks like Paul Bettany might very well have an expanded presence in Joss Whedon’s upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. England’s The Daily Mail first reported and then Variety quickly confirmed that the actor will play android team member The Vision in the May 1, 2015 release.

Bettany is no stranger to Marvel Studios films. He has provided the voice of Tony Stark’s computer system, J.A.R.V.I.S. in all three Iron Man films as well as the original Marvel’s The Avengers. It seems likely that, as has long been speculated by fans, the sequel will see Stark’s program evolve into a fully-fledged A.I. android. Bettany was reportedly spotted at Shepperton Studios for a costume test.

The Vision has been a major part of the team since his debut in “The Avengers” #57 all the way back in 1968. In the comics, the character falls in love with and marries Scarlet Witch, who will be played in the sequel by Elizabeth Olsen.

In addition to quite a few returning Avengers, Age of Ultron will also feature James Spader as the title villain, Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Strucker and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Scarlet Witch’s brother, Quicksilver.

Ms. Marvel to Be in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Over a year ago it was rumored that Ms. Marvel would play a part in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It was so early in the development process of the film that at the time I didn’t think there was any truth to the rumor. It looks like I might have been wrong. Latino-Review is now reporting that Ms. Marvel will in fact be in the sequel.

“Miss Marvel is the last piece of major casting left in the movie. Yeah, Miss Marvel. Now, I’m not going to spoil HOW she is in it, but she is in there kids.”

A few months ago Katee Sackhoff revealed that she had been talking to Marvel about a film project. A lot of people assumed that she could be up for the role of Ms. Marvel, which you’ve got to admit would be perfect casting. There’s no confirmation of this casting, so when it’s officially announced it could be a complete surprise. I’m excited to see how Joss Whedon plans on incorporating this character into the story.

https://i2.wp.com/static2.businessinsider.com/image/52a08d4cecad04e5526381a3-480/spider-man.jpg?w=584
The second  trailer for one of next year’s biggest films, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is out, and the trailer looks pretty great.

Andrew Garfield returns as Peter Parker who will not have to face one, but three villains. Electro (Jamie Foxx), the Rhino (Paul Giamatti), and the Green Goblin were all teased on a triptych poster officially unveiled earlier this week.
Emma Stone also returns as Parker’s love interest Gwen Stacy.
One thing we’re excited for from the trailer is that looks like the sequel will finally delve into the story of Peter’s parents which was hinted at in the first film.
“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” comes to theaters May 2014.

Evangeline Lilly to Join Marvel’s ANT-MAN

https://i0.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52f2dd79e4b014c84aaf17f3/1391648121246/evangeline-lilly-to-join-marvels-ant-man.jpg?resize=584%2C338

It looks like Ant-Man has found its lead actress. Marvel is is currently in talks with Evangeline Lilly (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug) to be in the Edgar Wright-directed movie. If cast, she will join Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Michael Pena.

According to Variety, there’s a possibility that she will play Hank Pym’s daughter and Scott Lang’s love interest. This isn’t confirmed, and you should probably know that Pym didn’t have a daughter in the comics. But that doesn’t mean Wright and screenwriter Joe Cornish couldn’t have added a new character to the story. Of course, the other possibility could be Wasp.

We’ll eventually find out everything we want to know. Whoever the character is, it seems like Lilly would be a great addition to the Marvel cinematic universe. The film is set to go into production in April.

Doctor Doom Could Be a Woman in FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot

https://i2.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52f2c967e4b0e025f16482bc/1391642983041/doctor-doom-in-fantastic-four-reboot-could-be-a-woman.jpg?resize=233%2C347

Director Josh Trank and Fox are still in the process of casting the main characters for their reboot of Fantastic Four. As of right now, Michael B. Jordan is attached as Johnny Storm and Miles Teller will most likely end up in the role of Reed Richards. THR is now reporting that Kate Mara and Emmy Rossum have tested for the part of Sue Storm. The report also says that an actor named Christian Cook has tested for Ben Grimm, a.k.a. The Thing. I have no idea who he is, though. But this is the interesting part of the article!

Buried in the article is a quote that says Doctor Doom could actually be played by a woman, which would be incredibly interesting. This is the statement,

“The studio is likely to go for a big name and isn’t ruling out switching genders for the role.”

The thing I’m most looking forward about this news is what the fan reaction will be if the studio actually does cast a woman in the role. I personally don’t care because I never really found the villain that interesting anyway. Making the villain a woman will definitely turn some heads though.

We also previously posted a leaked plot synopsis for the movie. You won’t be able to read it at this point because the Fox legal team made us take it down, which only tells me that the story and character details we posted were in fact true.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER – Post Credit Scene Details

If you don’t want to know anything about what you might see in the post-credits scene for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, then I suggest you stop reading now.

You’ve seen the trailers, so you know this movie not only looks like a sequel to Captain America, but it looks like it could be a sequel to The Avengers as well. So it should come as no surprise that the post-credit sequence would lead us into Avengers: Age of Ultron. The following information comes from Lainey Gossip, who has already seen the sequence. Here’s what they say:

… there’s a big reveal that general audiences won’t see coming (and ought to open some doors to fix that awful SHIELD show). But the thing that’s probably going to leave people talking the most is the post-credits stinger. They’re calling them “The Twins”, the brother-sister team of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, and they don’t look like any Marvel heroes we’ve met to date. Having seen them, I am really sad for Fox and the X-Men.

They go on to say that, in comparison, the stuff Fox and Bryan Singer are doing with X-Men is “outright embarrassing.” Damn, I’m already crazy excited for The Winter Solider, and now there’s this to build on it! I have no doubt that once again, Marvel is going to blow away their fans.

Will THOR 3 Feature the Ragnarok Storyline?

https://i1.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52ea9494e4b0bc5b7df97864/1391105172928/will-thor-3-feature-the-ragnarok-storyline-1.jpg?resize=491%2C280Yesterday it was announced that Marvel VP and producer Craig Kyle would be co-writing Thor 3 with Christopher Yost. It’s looking like the third film could follow the Ragnarok storyline. HitFix has a source close to the production that claims this is the direction that the next story could be headed, and that it would be teased at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
“More importantly, if my sources are correct, the end of “Age Of Ultron” sets up a difficult situation for Thor as Midgard and Asgard find themselves looking at a possible war. Could we be looking at the beginning of Ragnarok, brought on by Loki in the guise of Odin? Could the third film find Thor having to fight against the realm that he’s spent so much time defending?”
It’s hard to put confidence in this source since we really have no idea who that source is, but Kyle himself has previously talked about a possible future story arc for the third film, and even hinted at Ragnarok. He talked about all this stuff during a set visit with several websites, saying,
“This is Hall of Science again, another place you’re going to see today. This is gonna be a pretty neat spot that we actually get to explore, which will go into the various breakthroughs and discoveries of the Asgardians where you’ll see functioning models of the Big Bang and all these wonderful technologies that no human has ever laid eyes on before.
“And inside’s gonna be this living tree, which we believe is connected to Yggdrasil, the cosmic tree.  And the effects and woes and success of the universe are spoken through this, this living object. So, should the end of all things ever come this would probably be the first thing to fall.  And we have a really tremendous scene in here with Thor and Odin.”
When “The end of all things” was brought up, Kyle was asked if he was talking about Ragnarok and he replied,
“It’s one of the bigger stories, right?  [LAUGHS] So, who knows?  [LAUGHS]“

For those of you not familiar with the story arc, Ragnarok is an apocalypse of sorts that represents the end of Asgard. Ragnarok is an apocalyptic-battle that the Realm of Asgard has experienced over and over and over again. Ragnarok is a cycle of death and rebirth. It comes in cycles, randomly killing gods and restoring new gods with no knowledge of what took place. This is happening in an effort to sustain Those Who Sit Above in Shadow, which are celestial beings that are the gods of gods. They need this cycle to continue in order to survive. Thor is eventually made aware of this cycle and it pisses him off, because it robs his people of their glory and memory. Thor vows to restore his people’s glory by ending the cycle. This will require Thor to form an alliance with his arch-nemesis Surtur. You can read more details about the story here.
In Norse Mythology and in Marvel Comics there are fallen warriors called the Einherjar, who spend their death feasting and continually fighting. They are waiting for the day of the Ragnarok where they can fight for Asgard once again.
This would make for a pretty epic storyline, and I hope it’s the one that Kyle and Yost are bringing to the big screen!
