GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY connection to the AVENGERS 3 movie

Guardians-of-the-Galaxy-marvel

the whole Marvel cinematic universe is connected in some way, so it should come as no surprise that Guardians of the Galaxy will be connected to other films in the universe. Director James Gunn has confirmed that his film will in fact be connected to Avengers 3.

Marvel has a plan in place with the intergalactic villain Thanos, who appeared at the end of The Avengers. He will also appear again in Guardians of the Galaxy, and Marvel has been carefully placing Infinity Gems across the films they’ve been releasing. It’s all leading up to something big! In a recent issue of Entertainment Weekly Gunn says,

“[Guardians of the Galaxy] is definitely connected to Avengers 3.

The director also added that the performance of Thanos would be done with motion capture and then referred to him as the “head of the snake.” He then went on to talk about the origins of Star-Lord and Gamora/Nebula:

“[Star Lord] was abducted from Earth (Missouri) at age 8 and raised in a group of thieves and smuggles called the Ravagers. He’s good with the ladies and a little bit of a dick and very lucky. Thanos slaughtered [Gamora’s] family and Nebula’s, then raised them together as siblings. They were bio engineered to become living weapons, so he’s really good at killing people.”

so there you have it! seems  like  we have a  few years to check it all out  what are your thoughts on these  connections?

Spider-man: Sinister Six and Venom Movies Released Before The Amazing Spider-Man 4?

spidey sinister 6 header

Back in June of last year, Sony Pictures announced not only a release date for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 on June 10, 2016, but also The Amazing Spider-Man 4 on May 4, 2018. A few months later, they revealed plans for two spin-off films, Venom and The Sinister Six, though a release date wasn’t set for either at the time.

Now, producer Matt Tolmach says that we’ll be seeing the two spin-offs before the fourth entry in the series and that we might see one of them take that release date in the end.

“Before we know what we do with Spider-Man 4,” Tolmach said in an interview with Den of Geek. “We’re going to do Sinister Six, Venom and Spider-Man 3. There is going to be a lot of crossover in those movies. So we’re just not at Spider-Man 4, because we still have a whole other Spider-Man movie and two other movies. So we don’t know yet what [Spider-Man 4] is going to be.”

Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Ed Solomon? will pen the Venom spin-off, which Kurtzman will direct. The Cabin in the Woods‘ Drew Goddard will write and direct The Sinister Six.?

WOLVERINE: There’s a Good Chance Hugh Jackman will be back for more wolverine!

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5345db02e4b0dd9f736d564d/1397087002656/?format=750wThere’s been a lot of talk lately regarding Hugh Jackman and his Wolverine role. Over the last few months he’s been hinting that he’s almost done with playing the character and that it’s inevitable that he will be replaced one day. There’s also been a lot of uncertainty over whether or not he would return for the Wolverine sequel currently being developed by James Mangold. He’s not officially signed on to do it, but according to a recent interview, he could very well end up playing the character for an eighth time!

Yahoo Movies conducted a joint-interview with Jackman and his X-Men: Days of Future Past co-stars, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy. During the interview they answered fan questions from Twitter. When Jackman was asked if he would return to play Wolverine in the sequel he gave a hopeful answer,

“Um, I am not signed on, but if I was a betting man, there’s a good chance. Yes.”

He’s then asked to reconfirm:

“There’s a good chance you’re coming back?”

The actor replied:

“There’s a good chance.”

Wow  that  could be  some  great news!  I  love  what  jackman has  done  for the  character,  i just  feel  he  has not  been able to show  what   wolverine  can do!  as  for the  looks   i  don’t  think he  could ever get  replaced!  What are your  thoughts on all this?  We  want to know?

X-men: Mystique Could Get Her Own Spin-Off Movie

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5346b1a2e4b0881147a99c6d/1397141950617/?format=750w
According to X-Men franchise producer Lauren Shuler Donner, there’s a chance that we could see a spin-off Mystique film. In a recent interview with EW, she started talking about spin-off films saying,

“There was a regime [at the studio] that didn’t see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we’re going to do right by it. I’d like to do Gambit. I’d like to do Deadpool. We’ll see. There’s a lot of really great characters.”

We’ve heard all of those names mentioned before as potential spin-off movies and Deadpool for sure needs to happen! Fox is kind of stupid for not pulling the trigger on it yet. The producer then goes on to add Mystique to that list of potential spin-off films saying,

“I love what Jen Lawrence has done with her, and I feel like because she is in such a crowded ensemble, there’s so much more opportunity if you were to follow her solo.”

Story Behind the PULP FICTION Reference in CAPTAIN AMERICA 2

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5342ff18e4b05fdb12dae3f6/1396899641202/?format=750w

One of the funniest easter eggs in Captain America: The Winter Soldier wasn’t a reference to another Marvel property. It was a reference to Samuel L. Jackson‘s Jules Winfield character in Quentin Tarantino‘s 1994 classic Pulp Fiction. Maybe you caught it, maybe you didn’t, but thanks to /Film and directors Anthony and Joe Russo, we have a little background on how it ended up in the film.

SPOILERS in case you haven’t seen the movie yet.

.

.

.

.

At a certain point in the film we are led to believe that Nick Fury died. That’s what he wanted Hydra to think. After they defeated Hydra and took down S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury, Cap, Falcon, and Black Widow meet in a graveyard at Fury’s fake gravesite. His tombstone had the following quote:

The path of the righteous man: Ezekiel 25: 17

That’s part of a bible verse quote that Samuel L. Jackson quoted in Pulp Fiction. I’ve seen the movie twice so far, and the first audience I saw it with cracked up when they saw it. The second audience didn’t even flinch at it. So who knows how many people caught it.

Here’s the explanation of how the quote made the final cut:

Anthony Russo: Well yeah, we, I mean, we just, we kept trying to figure out what his tombstone should look like and we couldn’t settle on anything like–

Joe Russo: Like what would his epitaph be and, you know, we went through like maybe 10 iterations of his tombstone. And I remember was it–?

Anthony: We were just sitting in visual effects one day.

Joe: Dan Deleeuw, our effects supervisor, came up with the idea to do that.

Anthony: I don’t remember.

Joe: I think it was. But again, you know, we’re always because we’re geeks and we love that kind of stuff, when we make movies, we’re always trying to put it in the movies, our movies for other people, our TV shows. So it’s better to put something in there that is a wink and a smile and excites people than just something bland, you know?

I loved that they threw that in there. It was a fun surprise.http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5342fea2e4b008f8c6dabbb0/1396899491239/?format=500w

The Russo Brothers Talk CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 – Release Date Confirmed

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5342ba4ee4b0cf4885e88a58/1396882002431/the-russo-brothers-talks-captain-america-3?format=750w
Captain America
: The Winter Soldier
directors Joe and Anthony Russo were recently guests on the Empire Podcast. They discussed their film, which is currently in theaters, and also talked about where they are on Captain America 3. (Disney and Marvel have also confirmed that the movie will be released on May 6th, 2016, pitting it against Batman Vs. Superman.)

The Winter Soldier was such an amazing film, I can only imagine how incredible the next one will be. During the podcast they give an update on the progress on the third film saying that that there have been a lot of discussions with writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and that they have a general idea on the direction that they will take Captain America 3.

If you’ve already seen The Winter Solider, then it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you that the third film will focus on Steve Rogers’ best friend, Bucky.

“The most that we can say about it at this point, is that Bucky’s story is not finished. It’s an introduction to Bucky’s story. So if you want to guess at what that movie will be about..you can assume this will be a continuation of that story”

One of our readers, Dave S, gave a pretty solid suggestion as to what we might see happen in the next film. When talking about The Winter Soldier in the comment section of the review I wrote he said,

“This film also sets up the inevitable “Death of Captain America” storyline…especially with Emily VanCamp being introduced, first as Kate/Agent 13, but ultimately as Sharon Carter (Peggy Carter’s niece), and Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow (aka: Crossbones). Combine that with Bucky/Winter Soldier starting to remember who he is and what his relationship with Steve/Cap was…and of course he’ll be the new Captain America.”

This is just speculation, but it does sound like it could be the direction Marvel takes this franchise. What would you like to see happen in Captain America 3? Click here to listen to the podcast.

SINISTER SIX Movie to Be Directed by Drew Goddard

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53435880e4b0485943bfd8e8/1396922516959/?format=750w

Cabin In The Woods director Drew Goddard is in the process of making a deal with to direct Sony’s Spider-Man spin-off, Sinister Six. He’s already writing the script for the film, so it makes sense that he would come on board to direct it as well. It was kind of expected. The guy did an amazing job with Cabin In The Woods, and I would love to see him take on a film that focuses on these villains.

The studio is looking to build up their own Marvel-style cinematic universe with all of these Spider-Man characters. It will basically be The Avengers of villains, consisting of Doctor Octopus, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Sandman, and The Vulture. Those are the original villains. They could change things around, though, and swap out a couple for Lizard and Green Goblin. Many of these characters have been teased in the trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Then, of course, there’s Venom, who is getting his own film that is currently being developed by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Ed Solomon.

Spider-Man has done very well for Sony, and they have to keep making movies or the rights to these characters will revert to Marvel. I wouldn’t care if that happened at all, but the studio obviously wants to hold on to them so that they can keep making their money.

There’s no word on when Sinister Six or Venom will be released, but it will most likely happen after Spider-Man 3, which is set for release on June 10th, 2016. I think it will happen before the fourth film, though, which will be released on May 4th, 2018.

It will be interesting to see how this movie comes together, and if Spider-Man will be involved with the story in any way. Goddard is a talented individual, and I have confidence that he’ll create some really special and cool for the fans.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Promo Clip with New Footage

https://i2.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53439957e4b0cc3fc1bd6594/1396939107139/Screen%20Shot%202014-04-07%20at%2011.30.18%20PM.png?resize=408%2C183

Marvel has released a clip from James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy, followed by a promo real showing a montage of scenes from the amazing looking sci-fi adventure film. There’s some new footage for you to check out here, and the clip features an extended scene from the first part of the trailer in which Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) is caught by Korath (Djimon Hounsou) as he’s trying to steal some kind of ancient intergalactic artifact. We get to see how Star-Lord escapes this little awkward confrontation.

This movie looks ridiculously cool, and I’m so excited about seeing it when it’s released on August 1st, 2014. It’s so cool that we have another Marvel film to look forward to seeing this year! Thanks to MTV for the clip.

Actors Who Could Replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine Movie Wolverine

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/533f0ce9e4b02233d742e44d/1396641012450/actors-who-could-replace-hugh-jackman-as-wolverine10?format=750w

It’s really hard to imagine anyone other than Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine in the movies. He’s been playing the character for so long! It’s been 14 years since he was introduced in Bryan Singer‘s X-Men. The part was originally supposed to go to Russell Crowe, but he passed on it and told the studio to give it Jackman, so they did. The actor himself has said that his replacement is inevitable. As much as we love him as the character, he can’t keep it up forever.

“Look, that’s inevitable, man. Anyone who thinks they’re indispensable in this business is fooling themselves. But I feel unbelievably blessed to have this part. I never thought in a million years I’d get to play him seven times. Every day I walk on the set with the claws and the hair, I thank my lucky stars. I don’t take any of it for granted. To think that in a second version we’d have this cast and this director, and you guys don’t know the script, but I would say probably the best script of all of them, is pretty amazing. I think that’s why I’m still here. I’m sure by the way, that it won’t always be my decision to always be here. At some point, someone will close the door on me…”

So when the his time is up, who will replace him? It has got to be an actor who can at least sport the infamous hair look without looking ridiculous, and he has to be crazy fit. Jackman previously said Channing Tatum could “probably play him.” I don’t think Tatum could pull off that rugged Wolverine look though.

There’s always a chance that FOX could replace him with an unknown actor who can grow into the role as they keep making movies. That way they could get a great deal. If they do go with a known actor, there are a few out there that might be able to actually pull it off. Here are some I think might be decent choices.
