Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s feature film adaptation of the comic book Lobo is back in development! There hasn’t been much news on the project since Dwayne Johnson confirmed he might play the title character back in 2012.
According to TheWrap, the studio has hired Wonder Woman screenwriter Jason Fuchs to write the script for the movie. They must have liked what he did with Gal Gadot and Chris Pine’s upcoming film.
According to the report, Fuchs is going to start from scratch on the script with his own take on Lobo. Just in case you need a reminder, Lobo is a comic book character from the ’90s and is an alien who works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter. He is also DC’s answer to Marvel’s Wolverine and The Punisher, who at the time, were two of the most popular comic book characters.
The site says that Brad Peyton is signed on to direct the movie, which he’s been attached to since 2012. Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman are also still producing.
