There have been rumors about The Punisher joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Daredevil, and now it’s been confirmed! Marvel has officially announced that they’ve cast The Walking Dead and Fury star Jon Bernthal in the role of Frank Castle, a.k.a.: The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2! How freakin’ awesome is that?!

It sounds like a decent choice that the deadly vigilante is actually going to be involved in the MCU now, and that Bernthal is the man who will be bringing him to life for Marvel.

Marvel describes him as “a vigilante who aims to clean up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results.” Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb adds:

“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences. Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”

All around, the first season was great, and I am looking forward to what the second season brings!  What are your thoughts on this? We want to know!
