It’s been hard to get The Walking Dead spoilers these days, what with all the measures taken to keep the identity of Negan’s victim a secret. But thankfully, the Spoiler Hackers have dropped a tiny hint at what to expect when Season 7 debuts this October.
Unfortunately, when we say tiny, we mean tiny. But, hey, any port in a storm, right?
According to casting announcements, Episode 6 of the upcoming seventh season will introduce two new characters, both female — and they don’t appear to be based on anyone from the comics.
The first, Naomi, is an older, grandmother-like figure who has lost many loved ones and isn’t looking to lose any more. Sounds a bit like someone Carol could relate to.
Or, if it’s indeed Glenn who meets the business end of Lucille, this person seems like someone Maggie could turn to. The other newbie is more Carl’s age, a girl named Jennie who’s described as “kind, with a world-weary toughness.” Sound like anyone we used to know?
OK, so it doesn’t bring us any closer to unlocking the mystery of who Negan killed, but it might help narrow the list of who it won’t be.
The Walking Dead Season 7 will premiere in the fall on AMC.
