J.J. Abrams’ WWII Film OVERLORD is Confirmed to be the Fourth CLOVERFIELD Film and It’s Done Filming

It’s been speculated for some time now that the J.J. Abrams-produced film Overlord would be a part of the Cloverfield universe, but now it has been confirmed by sources close to /Film. The film has already completed shooting and the last we heard, Paramount Pictures will be releasing it in October of this year.

The film stars Wyatt Russell and Jovan Adepo as American paratroopers that are dropped into enemy territory outside of Normandy during the D-Day invasion. It’s not until they arrive at their target they realize that they are a part of something more complicated than a simple military operation. They are forced into battle against supernatural forces as part of a Nazi experiment.

Overlord was directed by Julius Avery (Son of a Gun) from a screenplay written by Billy Ray and Mark L. Smith (Captain Phillips and The Revenant), which means the script is going to be really good.

The third Cloverfield film is Cloverfield Station and there’s a possibility that it will end up being a Netflix exclusive. That movie is said to be released in April of 2018. Here are the details on that film:

After a physics experiment with a large hadron accelerator causes the Earth to seemingly vanish completely, the terrified crew of an orbiting American space station is left floating in the middle of now-even-more-empty space. When a European spacecraft appears on their radar, the Americans must determine whether it’s their salvation, or a harbinger of doom.

The movie is being directed by Julis Onah (The Girl Is In Trouble) and it stars Mbatha-RawDavid Oyelewo, John Krasinski, Chris O’Dowd, Daniel Bruhl, Ziyi Zhang, and Elizabeth Debicki.

Overlord is said to have a release date of October 26th, 2018. Are you excited about the expansion of this Cloverfield universe?
