The CW Renewals: All Four DC Comics Series to Return

Here's the full list of The CW renewals.

The CW has given early renewals to 11 of its primetime series for the 2016-2017 season!

The CW renewals list includes the shows Arrow, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, iZombie, Jane The Virgin, The Originals, Reign, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and The 100.

“The CW has become home to some of the most critically-acclaimed shows on broadcast television,” says The CW’s President, Mark Pedowitz, “with a wide array of fantastic scripted series across the week, ranging from musical comedy, to superhero action, to gritty sci-fi dramas. As we continue to further our strategy of more year-round original programming, picking up these 11 series for the 2016-2017 season puts us in a great position of having proven, high-quality shows to launch in the fall as well as midseason and summer of 2017.” Continue reading

Production on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow officially began this week and to cap off a week of filming, DC Entertainment and The CW have released our first official look at Ciara Renée and Falk Hentschel as Hawkgirl and Hawkman! Check out the photo in the gallery below!

With powers derived from the ancient Egyptian hawk god, Horus, Kendra Saunders (Renee) and Carter Hall (Hentschel) are destined to reincarnate through time as winged, helmeted warriors. Phil Lord Offers an Update on The Flash Movie

Screenwriters Phil Lord and Chris Miller update on the status of their The Flash movie.

It was revealed last month that Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street) are writing Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming big screen take on DC Comics’ fastest man alive. Although it was already revealed that The Flash, set for release March 23, 2018, will star Ezra Miller as Central City’s scarlet speedster, Lord announced during The Hippojuice Podcast (via /Film), that The Perks of Being a Wallflower star will likely be playing a new iteration of Barry Allen, as opposed to one of the other men who have appeared as the hero in the comics. New Animated VIXEN Series Will Be Set In ARROW Universe

There’s a new superhero animated series coming to CW Seed called Vixen, which will be set in the same universe as CW’s Arrow and The Flash. The show will include appearances by both of the main heroes, and it’s being developed by Arrow producer Marc Guggenheim. The news was announced at the Television Critic’s Association press tour yesterday.
