Ever since it was hinted at that she would become a part of the MCU, Captain Marvel and the actresses that may play her have been the subject of endless online speculation. From famous faces to lesser known names, the rumor mill has been ripe with options. Now, it looks like recent Oscar-winner, Brie Larson, barring any casting complications, is set to take on the role of the American security officer with the alien Kree race DNA merged into hers. She’s the clear frontrunner and someone who also has one of the Avengers seal of approval.
During a recent Con appearance with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Shaw, Chris Evans, that OTHER Captain, had a chance to weigh in on the choice and he couldn’t be happier. In the clip below, you can see him discuss his previous work with Larson (they both were in Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) and made it very clear he would like to see her in the role – and in the upcoming Infinity Wars. As many in the Marvel world know, there’s been a call for a female-led superhero film and while many would like to see Black Widow get her own solo outing, Captain Marvel is already a go.
