A month ago, while promoting his passion project Live by Night — which he directed, wrote, produced, and starred in — on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ben Affleck confirmed that he would be directing The Batman, his first standalone film as the Caped Crusader.
However, after Live by Night bombed at the box office — causing a $75 million loss for Warner Bros. — Affleck reportedly experienced a crisis of confidence, questioning whether or not he could simultaneously direct and star in a big-budget superhero movie. In the end, he chose to step down as director of The Batman, citing his desire to focus on the acting side of the role. And according to recent reports, Matt Reeves, the director behind Cloverfield (2008) and Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes (2014), will take the helm.
While many of us had hoped that would put an end to all the drama surrounding The Batman, John Campea is now claiming that three separate sources have told him over the past four days that Affleck no longer wants to be The Dark Knight in the DCEU. Continue reading

Ezra Miller has high hopes for The Flash film. Speaking with MTV News, Miller said he thinks the film will be “fun” and “deeply human.” In other words, the polar opposite of all the recent DC films we suffered through. Continue reading
It seemed like a sure thing that Ben Affleck was scheduled to write, direct and star in a new solo Batman movie, but a recent interview with The Guardian in which he stated “It’s not a set thing and there’s no script” have put the status of the project into question. Further rumors of filming being pushed back from a spring date to sometime in the summer have Bat-fans worried their winged crusader will not take flight, but a new TV interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live! has set the record straight. We recently got a great first look photo of the Justice League team together. Everyone was present except for Superman. Justice League will be the most challenging film for Zack Snyder to make, and fans are waiting to see if he will actually be able to pull it off. Fans are split on what they think of Man of Steel and Batman v Superman – some thought they were bad, others thought they were absolute pieces of trash. But everyone can agree that they should’ve and could’ve been much better.
During an interview with USA Today, Snyder talked about Justice League, saying: Continue reading
After Ben Affleck took to social media to reveal that iconic DC Comics villain Deathstroke would be joining the DC movie universe, the new (official) head of all things DC has arrived to confirm not only his introduction, but who will be playing him. Fans will still need to wonder if Deathstroke the Terminator will be appearing in a small role in Justice League, or if a rumored role as the main adversary in Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie, but DC Films boss Geoff Johns himself has now spilled most of the beans. Well here’s some news that seems more positive than not given DC’s recent movie outings. io9 is reporting that the announced Booster Gold film will not be part of the DC Movie Universe. Greg Berlanti (who is heading up the project that was initially pitched as a TV series) gives the official word:
“As of right now we have no connective tissue to those worlds. It’d be a separate thing.”
This would make sense as Booster Gold is a man from the future who steals a super suit and time machine and travels to our time to be a great hero. Booster Gold is a bit too goofy for how serious the current DC movie universe is anyway, so I think that’s best, but he would be great if he were a part of the TV universe!
The Dark Knight has no shortage of enemies. In fact, Batman has some of the most recognizable villains in comic book history. We’ve seen the Joker, Bane, Mr. Freeze and even Harley Quinn have their moments on the big screen. Now for Batman’s next solo outing, it’s time for a new villain to terrorize Gotham. And it looks like that villain will be fan favorite DC Comics assassin Deathstroke. Continue reading
Ben Affleck’s Batman went way dark in Batman v Superman, and he went on a mean steak, brutally beating the shit of people and not caring if anyone who got in his way met their demise. Some fans didn’t like it, while others enjoyed that hardcore brutality of Batman.
Well Batman is going to be on the road to redemption in Justice League. During an interview with ComicBook.com, Affleck talked about bringing Batman out of the darkness and into the redeeming light. Continue reading
We’ve got some more information on Zack Snyder’s Justice League film to share with you regarding new intel on The Flash costume that Ezra Miller will wear. We got our first glimpse of The Flash in Batman v Superman and we even got a small glimpse of the costume in a set photo that was released.
In almost every on-screen incarnation of the suit that we’ve seen it’s been a one-piece costume, but they are taking things to a new level in Justice League. Continue reading
