Following the reveal that Jeff Goldblum will return for the Jurassic World sequel, another connection to the original Jurassic Park in the upcoming film has been revealed. While being interviewed by Larry King, actor James Cromwell revealed some details about his Jurassic World 2 character in the sequel, saying:
“The character Richard Attenborough played, I’m his partner Benjamin Lockwood. We developed the technology of being able to clone the genes, and so I’m trying to deal with the blow back from what we have done.”
Based on the events of
Jurassic World, it sounds like Cromwell’s Lockwood will have a bone to pick with B.D. Wong’s Dr. Wu, who helped create the Indominus Rex that essentially destroyed the fully-functional park.
The upcoming film also stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard alongside Toby Jones, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith and Rafe Spall. Frank Marshall and Steven Spielberg are returning to produce the film, which has JA Bayona (When a Monster Calls, The Impossible) in the director’s chair.
The Jurassic World sequel is set for release on June 22, 2018.
