We have known for sometime that an updated version of the beloved Disney animated series DuckTales is coming soon, but now we know when to watch our favorite adventures in Duckburg.
EW reports the new series will begin with airing a one-hour TV movie on August 12, beginning at midnight. Then the show will officially launch with two new episodes on September 23 on Disney XD, VOD, and the network’s app.
IndieWire has some breaking news. The fine folks of Amblin Television and Warner Bros. Animation are planning to reboot the 1990s cartoon classic, “Animaniacs.” And even the original Executive Producer, Steven Spielberg, whose name was a part of the official title, is also reported to be involved in this new project! Miles Morales will be the “star” of Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man animated movie. That’s the official confirmed news from Sony’s just-concluded animation presentation, a morning that also saw footage from The Emoji Movie and the next Smurfs movie (there are a lot more female Smurfs this time around). The big news is that, as hoped/rumored, Mr. Morales will be taking flight on the big screen as the would-be webslinger over Christmas weekend 2018 when the Bob Persichetti/Peter Ramsey-directed and Phil Lord/Chris Miller-executive produced animated adventure debuts. Young Justice fans, it’s time to celebrate, as Warner Bros. Animation has announced the series is returning for a long hoped-for Season 3.
WB Animation notes that more details, including where the new episodes will air and a premiere date, will be revealed later, but production is now beginning on the third season, which promises “new twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes.” Continue reading →
Wreck-It Ralph is heading back to the big screen, and this time, he’s wrecking the internet. The Oscar-nominated Walt Disney Animation Studios team from the original film is reteaming for the follow-up Wreck-It Ralph 2, including director Rich Moore (Zootopia, “The Simpsons”) and producer Clark Spencer (Zootopia, Bolt). Phil Johnston (writer, Wreck-It Ralph, Zootopia, Cedar Rapids) joins Moore as director and a writer on the project. John C. Hasbro Inc. and Machinima co-hosted a panel during the Cannes Lions Festival offering Transformers fans a first glimpse of “Transformers: Combiner Wars”, a new animated series debuting August 2nd on social entertainment platform go90 in the US, AMC Networks International Iberia in Spain and Portugal and in other territories to be announced at a later date.
